A wonderfully versatile and economical underwater camera
A brilliant camera which I got to grips with quickly. On just my second day of using it my first ever underwater camera I was able to take a photo like the one above – and I’m both an unconfident swimmer and photographer!

    Great value product!
Great camera with simple functionality that packs a real punch for the pricepoint. It is excellent value for money for anyone who wants to use this for general travel recording and pictures. All components are well made the camera itself is surprisingly robust for the money.

    Arrived promptly.
Not used yet. Bought as replacement to 2 year old same model, which worked perfectly until it met an unfortunate end. Used to film entries to online knife/axe throwing competitions… knife bounced back, hit camera. No external damage, but, although all menus/text/buttons working the camera sensor not working and no picture in any mode. Suspect shock damage internally.
Was perfect for job, perhaps internals not shockproof enough, but, at price, worth another punt…. maybe place further from target though.
Disappointed that batteries from older model won’t fit new one.
Disappointed that, contrary to expectations, the remote is not rechargeable!!

    Amazing budget action camera
I got this as I wanted a decent action camera but something just for fun so I didn’t want to pay through my nose for a Go-Pro.
After heave research online I saw good things about Akaso and took the plunge.
I got the version of the camera with all accessories and memory card.
The camera is amazing, sure it won’t be the same quality as a GoPro but for its price it is amazing! Touch screen controls are very easy to use and intuitive; the app, not the best but does the job well. You can control the camera with the app but I haven’t used it much as the remote it came with is amazing.

    Instructions
I like all the accessories and the easy set up etc, however my only complaint I had to Google one or two things as there’s not an instruction manual as such just a quick start guide but otherwise happy

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat camera, great price
After seeing a lot of reviews on youtube I decided to buy this. It seemed perfect for my needs with good quality. There are a lot of settings and pictures resolutions to choose from and it is worth testing them out for your needs. Most people will use the 4k 30FPS setting which is a great choice. Also make sure to set video quality to ‘high’ in the menus, this will ensure the cleanest looking footage. It comes with loads of mount accessories, a waterproof underwater case (for diving), two batteries and a charger. Everything you need basically to get started. Definitely a great action videocamera!

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersAn impressive, cost effective camera
The first thing you’ll notice is that this camera is a lot heavier than some of the other Akaso cameras. It feels robust with its body made of hard plastic and offers weather sealed joints so it can be used in the wet without issue.

Both the battery compartment and the USB compartments have a rubber seal which presses into the compartment to ensure no water gets into important parts of the camera.

The displays are made from plastic which will no doubt help to stop any screen breaks. The touch screen is smooth and responsive and it’s navigation menu is very simple to use.

The front facing screen helps to see where it’s being pointed while vlogging.

Next to the battery compartment there is a 1/4″
    metal thread for tripods.

The buttons feel very strong and are made from a rubbery plastic.

Image quality is quite impressive for this price point and the 4k30 is very good as is all of the other resolutions such as 2.7k and 1080p. Just note that every other resolution has a choice of 30fps or 60fps apart from 4k which is limited to 30fps. There is also 1080p120 for slow mo footage.

The 20mb max photo quality is reasonable and would be more than good enough for posting on social media. You do get the ability to set custom iso, EV and light metering. Sadly, you’re unable to set a custom iso in video mode, but you can set the angle for both video and photo which allows super wide/wide/medium/narrow.

Image stabilization is quite impressive, but obviously not to the standards of DJi or GoPro, however you shouldn’t have any major issues when cycling or jogging, in fact you’ll get very good results.

The audio is acceptable, however there is a bug whereby turning off all system sounds will mute audio recording. The work around is to disable all sounds apart from the bootup sound, then you’ll be able to capture audio in your recording. If you like to leave system sounds on then obviously you won’t need to do this work around.

Overall it’s a very impressive little camera and it’s a nice companion to my DJi Action 2.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersA quality build, lightweight small piece of kit for capturing actio
The Akaso Brave 7 LE is a great, well built, rugged 4K action camera that comes with a host of accessories so that it can be attached to almost anything and as well as having a sturdy waterproof case.
I bought it as I wanted to easily shoot some footage while doing a course in film editing (Adobe Premiere Pro) and not wanting to heft loads of camera equipment around. The settings are simple to use, as is the touch screen and I guess the front screen is great for bloggers.
I have attached it to my mountain bike cycling in the forest, to my lurcher running wild and mounted it on a monopod and walked around with it — the image stabilisation is pretty good although I guess you would need a gimble if you wanted perfectly smooth footage, but for moving image and dynamic shots it works a treat. The spare battery is handy as two batteries will allow you to fill a 64GB memory card.
The Akaso Brave 7 LE’s compactness and quality build means its great just to have with you whenever you are out to catch those special moments or out of the ordinary events far better than you can on a phone.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersAkaso Brave 7 LE - Brilliant - packs a punch
I wanted to upgrade from my basic action camera but still didn’t feel I could justify the cost of the mainstream brand.

I saw this, watched some reviews and thought it must be too good to be true for the money (but then that would have meant all of the reviews were wrong.)

I decided to give it ago and see for myself and I wasn’t disappointed. Simple to use and navigate.

Build quality is excellent, accessories galore and comes with two batteries and a charger.

Image and video quality is fantastic compared to what I was used to and for someone who just wants to record and enjoy holiday trips and days out, this provides excellent footage. The main test will be when we go on our regular safari game drive holiday early next year and it’s mounted to our car over rough terrain – an added benefit is that I don’t need to worry about the chance of rain and putting it inside it’s case.

I’m yet to try out the waterproof capacity without the case when swimming but to be honest, I’d probably use the case anyway for that added protection.

A word of advice though – don’t make the mistake I made initially. I watched some footage back on the camera and was dissatisfied with the sound and video quality. Once you view/download onto your phone, tablet or computer etc, all your worries will go away. Obviously the speaker and screen on the camera can only do so much.

I don’t know how Akaso have packed so much into something so small and kept the price down. Whilst those more professional than me may see the difference against top end models, 99% of people like me will just love this.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAmazing little action cam (good for MTB)
The Camera – This little camera is so good! I’ve seen good reviews on YouTube but did not expect this quality for the price! Forget GoPro if you are just want to record some casual footage, this is more than good enough, it really is superb (I tested for Mountain Biking). The first thing I did when I received the camera was attach it to my bike handlebars (using the supplied accessories) and went for a quick spin through some open roads and through tree covered rough woodland. The quality is brilliant in sunlight and in the shaded woods and it is pretty quick to adjust when entering the sunlight out of the woodland. The image stabilisation works a treat! No jerky footage. He camera picks up the wind pretty bad and the mic audio is a quiet which are the only downsides to the footage, image quality is brilliant (I used 4K @ 30FPS). The build quality is amazing, nice and heavy and feels solid and such good quality, again much better than I anticipated. Nice that its waterproof without a case, I hate the waterproof housings when I’m not using it for diving.

Accessories – love the little battery docking station! And nice to get 2 batteries, although I will need more for taking the cam out for longer sessions, if recording a lot of clips, but still a decent amount of footage can be recorded using the 2 batteries. There are also a lot of accessories, with a good amount of bracket adapters, which I’m not sure what they are all for. It is nice to have a lot and a great starter pack (although one of the hand bolt things broke immediately when attempting to tighten the camera to the bracket). The only issue I have is the camera seems to slip on the bracket and fall sideways as the attachments don’t grip and slide easily. I’ve Velcro’d the helmet attachment to my helmet and seems to do the job but I’m not 100% confident it wont slide around a little. The go pro mount that came with my helmet (now lost) was much more secure but at this price it’s nice to have the accessories included. As I say a good starter pack and then better quality attachments can be purchased when you know what you need and what type of attachments works for you. The wireless watch remote to record footage and take photo’s is great to use too, especially if the cam is mounted on your helmet for example.

Lover this little camera and I’m looking forward to taking it out on my next mountain bike ride ride!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersDecent price for a good camera with plenty of accessories
Camera feels well made and solid.
rear touch screen is easy to use to navigate through the settings menus. My fat fingers did occasionally change settings between shot while holding (more user error, but be careful when holding and check the settings read out on screen)
Dual screens is a bonus. Only the rear camera is a touch screen.

Battery life so far has been about hour per battery. The rear screen turns itself off after a couple of minutes when recording and the camera can be set to power off automatically when not in use.
That the camera comes with 2 batteries & a charger that will take both batteries at once is a great addition. Additionally, a power cable can be connected while in use, with a driving setting and loop recording mode means it could be used as a dash camera. (Driving mode the camera will automatically switch on and start recording when it gets power, loop mode means it will automatically split videos into 1/3/5min segments and overwrite the oldest video file on the card when the card is full.)

Camera comes with a wide variety of mounts, couple of straps & waterproof case. Though it doesn’t come with a hand grip or tripod.

    Have put in a 128Gb SD card which will hold around 5 1/2hrs at full 4K @ 30fps or around 12hrs at 1080 @ 30fps

Usage wise – the picture is very good. Image stabilisation is a must. Have found while the wind reduction helps a little, the microphone still suffers from picking up a lot of wind noise, and as the camera is not compatible with an external mic, alternative methods need to be found – either fitting a foam cover over the camera, or using a separate sound recorder.
The included remote on a watch strap means you can start/stop videos and take pictures without touching the camera. In addition there is an app from which you can remotely control the camera and change settings.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersExcellent alternative to a go pro
This product is a very good alternative to a go pro. I bought this originally for to capture moments on horse back, I now bring it everywhere I go. It’s also able to capture great moments when swimming as the waterproof case is really strong and sturdy.
The case takes a little while to figure it out but is completely sealed and won’t let a drop of water in. I have not taken the case off for fear of it getting wet while out and about but the camera itself is supposed to be waterproof.
Came very soon after I purchased which I was super happy about. Also came with a lot of accessories which I did not expect (see attached pictures), however there was a few parts missing which was originally said on the box like a USB cable, was also supposed to come with 8 mounts which I did not receive.
The battery lasts really long which is very useful when going on long trecks, it also comes with 2 battery’s so you get double the amount of time. The battery charges up really quickly and you get a little over 1 hour at 4k (longer at lower resolutions).
Coming from a person who doesn’t understand a lot about different settings for different situations the default settings on the camera pretty much suffice every situation. (You can however play around with it and the AKASO website provides a lot of information)
It also comes with an easy guide to set up and you can download the detailed manual if you wish.
The AKASO go app was really easy to find, install and connect up to my camera. Took about 5 minutes and your able to control the camera from the app which is really useful for taking pictures or videos far away from the camera, this is useful for not having super long videos until you get set up which also saves on battery’s and editing time later. The camera also comes with a remote watch to control the whether you want to take a picture or a video.
The sound on the camera is a lot better than I expected, it picks up you speaking really clearly and it doesn’t pick up the sound of the wind which I was afraid of.
All in all very happy with my purchase and I would recommend as a cheaper alternative to the go pro cameras.
