Great addition to the garden shed
I have a proper chainsaw, but sometimes it’s just too big for the job. This saw is ideal for small stuff (up to say 3″ diameter) and awkward places such as up ladders, as it’s light enough to use overhead, with due care. Use single-handed and with either hand (left handed a bit more awkward as it’s set up for right-handed people). Chain stops as soon as you release the button, so it feels very safe and unintimidating. Best for trimming branches on the tree etc – constant use such as cutting longer logs to length makes it overheat and isn’t kind. Use a petrol saw for that. My only glitch was with battery charging times. I was putting the batteries on charge for 1-2 hours between sessions and the saw kept cutting out. The batteries really need to be charged overnight. As it’s a domestic tool rather than trade rated, this isn’t really an issue. I contacted the seller about this and was pleased with the courteous and helpful response. You get a free spare chain, but if you want to sharpen your chains – and you should, regularly – then you’ll need a very small file, smaller than a normal chainsaw file. Useful piece of kit, and would recommend. Helpful seller.
Very very handy tool!
This is an exceptionally handy, 8 inch handheld chainsaw that made light work of the various jobs I set it. I have a small log burner and have been cutting some delivered logs to a more suitable bite size! The tensioning is a little fiddly, but once set the saw was keen and powerful. I thought the chain speed was a little slow, but performed respectably enough. What’s really great about it is how comfortable it is to use. I had no problem cutting through smaller pieces of wood — although i had to exercise a little more patience and caution with the larger pieces, and the lesser power began to tell on the trickier, knottier logs. The battery – of which there’s 2 – is long-lasting and I did manage to exhaust it during a long period of repeated cutting. However, as there’s 2 batteries I was straight back on the job! This saw can make short work of any lighter jobs around the garden: it’s lightweight, easy to transport and all stores away neatly in the case. I’m very happy with my saw!

Light and easy to use
I am pleased with the product, the blade is very sharp, and cuts efficiently, there is a guard over the blade, which stops sawdust spraying in your face. Surprisingly easy to use for a novice!!
I would definitely recommend this saw to anyone considering- with 3 batteries and a spare chain it’s a bargain and a quality one at that ! registered it with the company and got the extended 2yr warranty aswell.
Perfect for first timers
I’m an absolute first timer with almost DYI but I needed to take down a couple of tree branches in the garden. It’s a nippy little thing – packs a punch and tackled them easily. When the chain started screaming, there’s a spare in there and some oil but neither fixed the issue. Christina at customer service was very quick to send out a replacement body and all is perfect. Really pleased with this – simple to set up and get going and definitely effective.
Brilliant tool for my needs
We have approx 2 acres of woodland and need to keep it maintained in order to have light in our home . We have a bank at the back of our house with lots of coppiced hazel and we used this one afternoon to cut All the branches , stems and small trunks. I am too scared to use the petrol chainsaw we own but was happy to use this and it made easy work of it. My husband was surprised at how quick it was and much easier than our traditional methods of doing it . The battery lasted a good amount of time and we then went through the second battery but cut a lot of thin branches . It was light so great for me . The power lasted better than I thought so I am very pleased with it and it was a good buy especially with the additional 2 year warranty. I also liked the fact it was 8″ as most other models I looked at were only 4″ or 6″ which I don’t think would have faired so well with the work we did. The chain did come off a few times but was easily put back on and oiled . I will be using this frequently in the garden and hope it holds up. We will also take it camping as the box is small enough to carry with us in the campervan
and will help to chop up logs for a camp fire ! Highly recommended.

A great tool and time saver. Chainsaws can be extremely dangerous and need caution when operating.
Being such a short tool the chains are in very close proximity to the body. I geared up with full face mask, a neck guard and put on thick leather welding gloves. I found I was still able to operate the controls. I am left handed, and found it is designed for right hand use, and would find it difficult and clumsy for left hand use; however It did not pose a problem. You don’t need to use pressure to make the cut, let the blades do the job. I found it went through the thicker branches of a three hundred year old hawthorne with ease. It cut through a thick ash trunk very easily (see pic’) I just cut the heel through with a hand saw.
I cut through up to six branches at a time, & whilst clearing away I put the battery on top up charge and checked the blade tension and added a few more drops of oil. The oil supplied was very thin, I used a thicker oil. The tool stayed quite clean through use, just a little brush now and again.
I have done a great deal of work with it, with much more to do. I did find the chain needed adjustment from time to time, this is only to be expected; bear in mind the expansion of the chain due to heat/friction. Don’t get any oil near the locking thumb screw as you may get the chain loosen.
In conclusion a great tool, time & money saver, with a two year warranty makes it great value I can highly recommend it.
My first trial run was surprising and I was amazed at the performance of the machine. The pre charged battery lasted longer than expected cutting down a large shrub. However the machine started stopping and starting after quiet a bit of use. On checking the battery charge lights it was showing two on which I assume indicated one third used. I then tried the second battery and the machine was running OK again. Its not really a great problem but I am not sure you can trust the charge lights. After use I dismantled machine as if I was renewing the chain but mainly to remove saw dust and chippings. This I found to be a bit fiddley and took longer than expected but might get easier next time. I am impressed with the machine performance overall and hope it proves reliable in the future. Time and use will tell but there is a two year guarantee to fall back on. By the way I have only had this 8inch chainsaw for three days when writing this.
Update — I have spent the last two day removing limbs/branches from a 13 foot pine tree and the saw worked very well. The battery no problem and lasted well. Branches up to 3 inches cut easily and there was a lot of them. The lack of there being no auto oiler did not pose a problem. I just brushed on some oil on teeth. The main thing I did not like is the chain adjustment. It is not the nicest thing to use and does not appear strong enough to last long term. Anyway the saw has nearly completed the task I purchased it for and saved me a lot of money than employing a tree expert.
Great addition to my tools
Received this great little chainsaw the next day with batteries fully charged. Used it for the first time today to cut up some Oak I’d been given for the fire. Performed better than I’d expected given the price. Would definitely recommend this product based on my initial use.
Easy to use lightweight mini chainsaw
We ordered this mini chainsaw so that I could cut some of our bushes on my own without my husband needing to get out the large chainsaw. It is really great. Having a carry case which contains everything is really handy. So far very pleased with it.

Easy to use mini chainsaw
I bought this to help cut up large branches of a cordyline I had to chop down. The saw coped well and the branches were easily sawn down to a length I could take to a recycling centre. The manual is well written and includes QR codes to link to YouTube videos showing how to use the saw and replace the chain.

We have used it a couple of times and although this is a compact tool it is quite powerful and is able to cut small tree branches and pieces of wood. Light weight and compac
Just what I needed, used today, great bit of kit, solid box too perfect for those little jobs where you don’t need a massive chainsaw but don’t want to use a traditional saw!!
Great little tool
Purchased the 8″ version, for cutting logs for my wood burner, and it copped really well. Came with 2 batteries ( I get about 15 minutes from a charge ) and charger. also came with small amount of oil ( enough to get you started ) so would suggest buying some at same time. Instructions for use are clear and simple.

Great Pruning Tool
I’ve been using this for some time now, and find it a very useful and excellent small chainsaw. Have used it to prune off dead wood on fruit trees and for general use on soft woods. Easy to use, and with the two batteries gives excellent life.
Having arthritis, I find other pruning tools difficult to use, and this has been a great help and asset to my garden tool kit.
Still using the original chain it came with, but having a spare means it should last me.
So glad I purchased this Mini chainsaw, I was going to buy a bigger chainsaw but I’m only 5ft 2 and felt apprehensive in using one. When I saw this and the positive reviews I didn’t hesitate in buying one. It went through the wood like butter and one battery lasted the entire job. I did use a normal hand saw at the base of the trunk half way through, but the mini chainsaw did the rest.
The carry case is great as it keeps everything where it should be.
It will certainly will be my go to in the future for jobs like this.

This is one of those items that whilst browsing on Facebook I saw an advert! Thought “this would be handy on our Narrowboat”? Now I don’t know how we lived without it? Great packaging and comes in its own heavy duty case with two batteries! Handy for lopping branches but where it really comes into its own is cutting up pallets making short work of them and saving getting the chainsaw out! All in all a great buy!
Very useful
Handy little saw. Easy to put together, seems to have good battery life. Chain broke, but supplier replaced very quickly free of charge. Happy with their service. 4 stars because have not used it a great deal as yet, and even though good customer service from supplier, chain should not have broken in the first place.
Does everything you want it to do
I wanted a battery powered chainsaw for cutting up logs. Most for sale had a 100mm blade which I thought to be not long enough. This 150mm blade does the job., It cuts well. Not too heavy, so easy to hold with one hand. Comes with 2 batteries so you’ll never run out of power half way through a job. I am left handed so it is difficult to operate the safety button and press the switch to turn it on with my left hand as the button is on the wrong side. Apart form this a great tool at an excellent price.
Fantastic little chainsaw
What’s not to like, have used this more than my 14″ chainsaw. The fact its compact, battery powered and simple to use. Just need to remember to keep the chain maintained and oiled. With the safety guard I feel extremely safe. Have used this to cut logs for my log burner and so far it just keeps going. Highly recommend.
A little saw with a big hea
I have a large willow tree to cut up into logs, I use a 16″ chainsaw for the larger limbs and purchased this saw for smaller branches to save the weight of the larger saw as my ageing back is not as good as it used to be !
It certainly was up to the task. 6″ branches are cut with ease, my advice is to let the saw do the work and not to force it, and don’t forget the oil.
With regard to customer service, I had a small problem with the gearing and Christina, the service manager sent a replacement unit out within 48 hours.
The company offer a second year warranty so nothing to lose.
I have no problem in awarding this saw 5 *
Nice little portable tree trimme
Pretty nice and handy tool. Bare in mind you should only use for trimming thin wood branches or trim leaves. Also make sure you hold it firmly and the thing that you are trimming is still and doesn’t move or it will be too difficult to cut it off. It comes with 2x batteries with LED charge level indicator, 1x charger, 1x spare chain, 1x oil lubricant, 1x screwdriver, all nicely fitted into a handheld robust plastic case. Pretty good value for money. Recommended
I do have a small criticism which I’ll get to, but let me tell you about my experience from the start.
I was quite happy with the case. It is nifty and strong and not too big. They have packed a lot of stuff in there for the relatively small and neat size of it!
The kit comes with the chainsaw and your first chain attached and ready to go. There is a very neat little zip bag with your spare chain, bottle of oil, and a philips head screwdriver inside. There are also 2 batteries, fully charged and a belt hook if you need to hang it off your tool belt while getting up a ladder etc.
The manual is fantastic! I can honestly say I haven’t seen such a well-thought and produced manual like this since the 1990s when things were just made properly! And so too is the saw itself.. But I’ll get to that next.
The manual doesn’t only provide step-by-step pictorial instructions on how to use the saw, and tackle any potential issues.. but it also comes with QR codes for you to scan with your phone, which automatically shows you a how-to video! Brilliant idea and convenient if you just want to get straight to the job in hand as quickly as possible!
When I first pulled that trigger to start the saw I thought oh.. it’s a bit slower than expected. But I have never used one either so it’s no surprise that I underestimated it big time!
The saw is powerful, but its just not “super” fast. Which is a good thing for the simple reason that if it was any faster, it would probably be too hazardous to use with one hand, which is the way its intended to be used.
As you can see in my video, it cuts through roots and branches with ease. And this particular job was tricky because I had to be careful to not catch the brick wall.
Before I bought this saw, I thought I’d have to dig that thing up from under the ground! But 20 mins or so of using this saw (very gingerly around the bricks) and the job was done. If it wasn’t for the obstructions, I could have easily just sliced straight through it. Which I am HOPING anyone reading this will only need to do. The Buddleia weeds are a menace to my area, and cause structural damage to pretty much everyones property here! Nobody wants to get a handsaw out and spend hours tackling these things. But this saw is perfect to keep around for these little jobs and it makes keeping them at bay a doddle!
Now the only thing I found a slight fault with is the guard. I had to remove my guard because the job would have been impossible with it catching on everything. But I feel like there should be a smaller (2-3″) guard option in the box just to protect your fingers while still giving you that freedom of being able to stroke the blade in both directions. It’s not a big deal, but when using my free hand to support the saw (with the guard off), I felt like my fingers were resting a little bit too close to where the blade sits. So I put some duct tape over that little gap so that I knew where not to touch! I highly recommend you do this IF like me, you also choose to remove the guard. But for most jobs it is completely unnecessary as the guard bends backwards by quite a lot (see photos).
The battery still had 3/3 bars after that 20+ minute job. So I can’t imagine I will even need to charge them for a long time yet! I was surprised that these light batteries last so long. But I’ve found this is also the case with other Bamse products. And I absolutely love the “charge check” function they’ve put into each battery! (see photos)
Great product and well worth the money spent! It’s one of those tools where all your friends will want to borrow it because it’s not something we all make full use of, but boy is it handy to have when you need it!

8in cordless chainsaw
I tried out the bamse 8 inch cordless chainsaw and found it to be a very good and handy piece of equipment,it’s size and durability enables you to use it in tight and hard to reach places,it’s lightweight means you can finish the job with no achy arms,the only one downside that I found was the chain was a bit loose and debris does on occasion block the blade,but overall performance was very good
Powerful little tool
I was expecting this to be good but it beat our expectations totally! Fantastic little piece of equipment, cut right through a tough small tree we’ve been wanting to get rid of from the garden for a while with absolute ease and in no time! Can’t wait to get stuck in with other projects now the warmer weather is on its way. I would 100% recommend this chainsaw to everyone!!
Brilliant saw
Hi thought this would be another poor quality saw but I was wrong, it’s very sturdy but light and it comes complete and ready to use, there’s 2 batteries with it and a spare chain also oil for lubrication and instructions, as you can see it cuts through a piece of seasoned wood easily which is harder than cutting through a tree branch or even a small tree.
This will come in handy for doing my fence posts and pruning the trees.
I would definitely recommend this product it’s a lot sturdier than the 6in one’s you see around.
Brilliant useful tool
I needed to replace my old chainsaw because it stopped working mid job. Found this one on Amazon, it arrived next day. Started using it immediately it arrived, it was already fully assembled, both batteries charged and chain pre oiled, and got the job finished with ease. I needed to tighten the chain after some use, as was expected but managed this easily by looking at the photos on the instructions. Fantastic product at a good price. I would definitely recommend.
THIS IS A REALLY GOOD CHAINSAW
I chose this one after seeing their short video which demonstrated its full capabilities and uses so I knew exactly what I was buying. It comes with a handy storage case together with full instructions and colour images and a small bottle of chainsaw oil. Highly recommended.
Instruction manual too reliant on QR codes
A very efficient and manageable saw. The only quibble I have is the manual is almost entirely reliant on users scanning QR codes for info on chain adjustments etc. Having said that I definitely recommend it.
Very lightweight which gives me control.
Tested it just the once to ensure it worked. Seems fine so far. I needed something lightweight making it easy to control, and thus more safe and it hasn’t disappointed! I was surprised how light it was! Removal of battery a bit awkward, but once you figure your own way it’s not a big issue.

This product has transformed my perception of chainsawing. It’s so lightweight but powerful, and I was pleasantly surprised at how long a battery lasts. It stops immediate when the button is released and I felt safe and confident in handling the tool. I had a few queries which were answered promptly, politely and knowledgeably. I have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
Super little tool
Purchased this saw to clear a tree on my allotment. Saw arrived on time and fully charged. Took me about an hour to cut down the 3-4inch trunks, (would have taken all day with my old bow saw), all on a single charge. Will come in handy for trimming back remaining trees. Lightweight and easy to handle, with spare chain, screwdriver and some oil to get you started. Definitely a 5 star product for me.
Ideal for cutting small branches
Ideal for light pruning and I like that it is cordless. It is lightweight and not really designed for cutting logs more than 4″. Not expensive, so what can you expect. It it does the job we need it for.

a great little chain saw. I got it to cut down 4 Leylandi fur trees , they were about 12 feet tall, cut off the branches first followed by the trunks and it did the job superbly. Obviously it may struggle if the trunk is too thick but it was a pleasure to use and it came in a very good tool box.would recommended for small gardening jobs.
Very nice tool, well made and great value
Arrived very quickly. I was very surprised at the construction of the saw . Easy to assemble and is very well balanced in the hand . The case is also strong and all of the saws bits fit in well. The batteries came charged so went out and took on one of our small apple trees. The saw made very clean cuts and did not need the chain adjusted at all, unlike my old tool. Also it was still very comfortable in the hand at the end of the job. So looking forward to getting the rest of the trees done over the weekend. Recommended product.
Brilliant Chainsaw
Delivered quicker than expected which was a bonus as I had it delivered to work forgetting I’d booked time off.
Anyway, bought the saw as was quoted 300 to have a tree hard pruned. So thought it was cheaper to get a saw and do it myself.
The saw made light work of the tree reducing it from over 30ft to 8ft tall in less than 30 minutes. Easy to use, battery lasted longer than expected and all comes in a handy carry case.
Would definitely recommend and will be looking into what other products they make.
Very impressed
Very impressed with this saw. I bought it to cut up some smallish branches in the garden. Tried it on a much bigger branch, about 6 or 7 inch diameter and it flew through it. Battery life is good too so far I have used it for about and hour and not needed to recharge. Indicator lights on battery are nice to have.
Also worth pointing out how quiet this saw is.

Lightweight portable chainsaw. And it delivers.
I was in need of a mini chainsaw for use at the allotment plot. A bit sceptical about the power of these mini handheld battery operated units. Having already been a customer of a Bamse product (a cordless drill) that suited me in the home for drilling anything from brick to install a wall mounted TV and a couple of curtain rails, to assembling flat pack furniture and also at my allotment plot, building bean and pea structures; raised beds and a composting bay, I thought I would give this mini chainsaw from Bamse a try.
My hands are getting on a bit in years now and can be painful. This mini chainsaw was extremely lightweight and it only needs 1 handed operation. In my inexperienced hands, I felt comfortable holding it and using it. The chain span very fast but the unit didn’t wobble. I felt totally in control of the unit. It was powerful enough to cut back some old dead growth on my apple and pear trees. There is a safety switch, so you can’t accidentally turn it on, unless the safety button is also pressed, and I didn’t struggle with powering it on. I did find it a little difficult removing the battery, but worked out that if I used both hands over the unit and pressed the battery clip with both thumbs, it got it unclipped.
As with the Bamse drill, it comes in a very attractive practical moulded case. Everything fits snug and secure and don’t fall about when moving the case. Two fully charged battery’s are included, so no messing about charging them, so can be put to work straight from receiving it. A drawstring bag contains extra chains, etc. A well made and thought out instruction booklet is included, with plenty of pictures, QR codes to scan, etc and a reasonable size so the text was very legible, as well as warranty card.
All in all this Bamse mini chain saw is a great product and they are a great company who cares for it customer and is totally 100% behind their product.

A pleasure to use
Since I have so far found no reason to fault this chainsaw, I have given it a 5-star rating. I should however point out that I have only used it on one occasion. I cannot say at this time how well it will perform after repeated use. It comes with a nice sturdy storage case. I had no difficulty setting it up. All that was required was to insert the pre-charged battery, which is a simple enough operation. I used it to cut back an olive tree. The size of the branches can be seen in the accompanying photograph. The chainsaw, which is lightweight and easy to operate, cut through these live branches without any difficulty. My conclusion, therefore, is that it is a pleasure to use this product.
You don't know what you're missing.
I picked this up based on reviews on here. Genuinely I have no idea what I’ve been doing without this in my life. I’ve just produced a basket full of kindling in a matter of minutes. Battery life looks good so far. By the way you also get a spare, so for longer jobs you have backup. As with anything it’s all about technique, especially the thicker branches I’m using this for. Once you nail it you’ll be looking for excuses, to use it. My wooden garden furniture is definitely in jeopardy.

Fantastic bit of kit! Light and easy to use! Pruned a whole tree with it. I had read on earlier comments that the battery took a long time to charge up so I alternated the batteries throughout the job and it was absolutely fine.

Well presented in a sturdy case, including two batteries, oil, spare chain and adjusting tool. This mini chainsaw is great for all those pruning jobs that are just a bit too big for shears. The four inch log in the video took just over ten seconds to cut through, will no hesitation or stalling. Battery life seems good, though I haven’t fully discharged a battery yet.
Lightweight, but well balanced, the saw is easy to use one handed, and small enough to get into the most awkward spaces.
The only gripe is that you have to keep oiling the chain manually, and they don’t supply very much.
Exactly what I was looking for...
I Purchased this as an Xmas gift for elderly friends that live in a rural location with a log fireplace. On the first day of reasonable weather I used this with them to tame some pretty overgrown bushes and small trees which provided some good firewood. I found it easy to handle as it is not heavy and I could easily cut through some pretty tough branches. I also found the light and spare battery useful. All in all I found this did all I expected and more.
So let me just state that my use of this isn’t probably the intended purpose of this saw, which seems to be to cut dawn trees and branches.
I’ve been renovating and have been wanting to easily get rid of old furniture most of which are very large and difficult to move and mostly made of wood So I thought I’d buy this and cut them into smaller, more manageable pieces
First impressions, very nice and compact case. The saw is a really nice and cute size, easy to grip and light but sturdy feeling to it.
Obviously the saw is cordless, which is great as I can use it in all the tight spaces and comes with 2 batteries, which seems to last around 30 minutes of use and to do a full recharge is around 2 hours or so.
As I said, my use of it is pretty unconventional for this type of saw probably, but I saw the pictures in the reviews of people cutting large trees/ branches so I thought it’s give it a shot, definitely works for my use! No trouble with it cutting wooden furniture at all, but do make sure there’s no nuts or bolts in the way.
The spare chain belt is great, I don’t know much about the wear and tear these things can take but a spare is always appreciated and hopefully once the spare is done with it seems chain belts are pretty universal so can be swapped out.
Happy with the mini saw at the price of 72 that bought it at, it does fit my needs and has worked flawlessly at whatever I’ve thrown at it. Warranty of 1 year is fine as I don’t think I’ll have many issues as the mini saw won’t be used excessively, so it should hopefully hold up well as it seems well built.

Arrived on time, item in a nice little case with easy carry handle. Having a small bottle of oil included was handy as I had forgotten to order this and not a lot of the other saws I looked at had this. The QR codes taking you to the YouTube videos on how to set up the saw was also very handy. I found the saw a little jumpy even when starting it on the wood but maybe I just need to get used to using it. Hopefully will be useful for cutting down our larger logs for the log burne
This is a great saw to have for cutting branches and smaller logs, probably as an accessory to a full size chainsaw for big logs. It is so handy to have one hand free to hold onto the wood whilst cutting and it’s much lighter than a regular chainsaw. When it arrived the batteries were fully charged and I stopped down a lane where there was a fallen down tree. I filled up a boot load of thick branches and logs in no time – the saw coped perfectly well with branches up to about 6″. Larger than that it can still do it but takes a bit longer. It managed to cut through a 10″ log by cutting in from four sides – I chose this saw over the ones from Makita and Black and Decker as they have a tip guard that would have prevented that. As with any chainsaw, some experience and skill is needed to cut well, and it’s important to stop to check the chain tension and apply some chain oil from time to time, eg every 20 cuts. Given 4 stars for battery life just because it takes over 2 hours to charge a flat battery
For the money you pay, you get an amazing piece of kit! Comes in a solid plastic case with not one, but two 21v batteries, both with led indicators on the back to see the level of charge when you press the button. In the box is a UK power adaptor, the handheld cordless chainsaw itself which I must say, feels surprisingly comfortable and lightweight in the hand. You also get a small black pouch with a spare chainsaw chain, some lubricating oil and even a screwdriver to take it apart to fit the new chain, perfect!! The chainsaw itself has a safety button on the side which you must press in first before pulling the trigger to activate it. Naturally, not a quiet piece of kit, but it definitely gets up to speed quick enough to start the job at hand! It has a retractable safety guard on the top side of the blade which pulls back on springs as you cut through something, really nice safety feature. All in all, a great package for the price, you definitely won’t be disappointed in this is if you’re looking for a reliable and well built cordless chainsaw! Definitely recommend!
