small but fas
Small yet powerful. Will not take up lots of space.
Very useful for my purpose. All the ports are fast and reliable.
It also came with an installation disk but it is just plug and play in my case.
It came with a flexible usb A and usb C interface.
The ethernet adaptor is able to handle fibre optic speed, no issues there.
Tiny but fast.
Great flexibility
This adapter does what it says. The ability to plug directly into both USB-C and USB 3.0 is a real bonus and has got me out if a fix more than once.
The ethernet connection is so useful, but having a portable one to three USB adapter is also great.
The fit and finish is good too, so very happy to recommend to others.
Perfect size and extremely well constructed plugin Ethernet adapter!
I have been using this USB-C plugin ethernet adapter to my touchscreen Windows laptop as it does not have a built in ethernet port, only two USB-C ports. It is daisy chained into another multi port USB-C adapter to allow for more variety ports such as USB-A, USB-C power port, SD card reader and HDMI. It has worked absolutely flawlessly since I plugged it in.
It is shrouded in aluminium and has a relatively thick rubber sheath on the cable itself with plastic bolsters on each end to prevent cable fatigue.
I am happy to endorse/recommend this amazing value adapter!
3 in 1
I recently bought the 2in1 USB-C/USB 3.0 to Ethernet Adapter, and it’s been a game-changer for my laptop. It’s super easy to use, providing a stable internet connection through Ethernet, and the extra USB 3.0 ports are a bonus for connecting all my devices.
A good adapter with good value for money and the benefit of extra USB 3.0 ports
I needed a USB-C + 3.0 to Ethernet adapter for a Nintendo Switch console, and size isn’t an issue. For a very good price, I was happy to get this product that offers 3 x USB 3.0 ports and a USB-C to USB 3.0 adapter; this means that I can use it on all my computers (as a back-up) and the Switch console (it’s main use).
It is plug and play, and works fine. I haven’t tried it on a Mac or my Android phone, but I don’t see how this would be a problem. The aluminium case feels sturdy as does the cable, which is braided (a longer cable would have been useful). The 2 lights signalling connection and activity work normally. So far, so standard and as expected for Ethernet. The unit does not heat up when active. The signal has been stable and, even if the speed of this adapter tested slightly lower than its stated specifications, such technology is already so much faster than my broadband connection that it wouldn’t matter; this adapter isn’t the bottleneck — my broadband is.
A mini CD-disc is provided with the driver, but I didn’t need to use it because this adapter worked immediately after I connected it. That said, I wouldn’t be able to use this CD because I no longer have any computer with a CD player. Who still has one nowadays, anyway?
As I already own good USB docking stations for USB-C and 3.0 memory sticks, memory cards, and HDMI and RJ45 (Ethernet) connections, I didn’t need a larger unit. So, for the price, this Benfei adapter is a good buy.
But, if you are happy to spend a few extra s and don’t need a small device, I’d recommend that you buy instead a 5, 6 or 7-in-1 docking station with an Ethernet connection, which will give you far more options in the end.
Multi-trick yet small adapter, with both Gig-Ethernet & USB-A ports
A quick review of an adapter that offers many ports in one tiny box. Oh, and it works as expected too.
The simpler cable end is around 13cm in length, featuring a quality braided black cable, with a 5-Gbps 3.0 USB-C male port, but also with an adapter attached to convert it to USB-A, which is useful.
On the business end, the adapter features four ports. On the very end it has a standard RJ45 Gig-Ethernet port, with two little lights that show connection (green) and full speed (yellow). The top features three extra 5-Gbps 3.0 USB-A female ports, which are nice to have for all those devices that still use the A-style port.
Performance-wise, the GigE port worked at full speed, and the thunmb drives I connected to it worked at at around 125-150 MBytes; basiclly the full bandwidth available minus the typical small amount of loss for overhead.
Being made of metal it should also be tough enough to carry and throw around without issue.
So if you need a hardwired LAN connection to USB-C (or USB-A) ports on your device, this Benfei one should be in your bag.
High Speed USB-C Ethernet Adaptor - Bonus 3 x USB A 3.0 Ports
Used with ASUS laptop to replace supplied USB A adaptor. My ASUS laptop came with 2 USB C ports and a single USB A port. As the laptop does not have any ethernet ports it is supplied with a basic USB A ethernet adaptor. Obviously, when the adaptor is connected there are no further options to connect any USB A accessories without resorting to a multitude of USB C-A adaptors. The BENFEI adaptor solves this by having a built-in USB C-A adaptor meaning that it can be used in either type of port and as a bonus comes with 3 additional USB A ports built in, greatly increasing connectivity for accessories. The BENFEI adaptor seems to take a bit longer to be recognised by the laptop than the supplied ethernet adaptor but when connected performs flawlessly.
Great little device
Very positive initial impressions. Was surprised at the weight, in a good way. It feels quite solid, and with a nice braided cable, should last.
Tested with a MacBook running MacOS 13.3. Plugged the adaptor in, the usb memory stick I had already attached was picked up straight away. The ethernet connection was also immediately recognised.
Good product, but the usb connection wouldn't.........
Go through my phone case, I had to take my phone case off, because the width of the input is too narrow on my case, and this device is too wide to fit in, but I took it off my phone case, and managed to plug it in, and disabled the wifi and mobile data, I get internet through ethernet cable with 3 usb ports to plug into and display on my phone.
The same can be done with tablet I believe, and old pc’s or new computers of all kinds. Basically getting an old computer connected to the internet that doesn’t have an RJ45 ethernet card, it also comes with a cd for drivers incase you need it.
I like this product, wish it had 4 usb ports, but wish mostly that the usb-c port of it was perhaps thinner, and so that it would fit in my phone with the case over my phone. That’s a real shame, it means I have to buy a new S10+ case that has a wide opening around the power port, or get a usb-c female to male extension cable then it can work with my current case on the phone.
Why would i need it on my phone when my phone has wifi and mobile data? Well it uses less power to connect to the internet if I disable mobile data and wifi it won’t use power from those that normally drain the battery of my phone, it comes with 3 usb ports as well that be convenient to plug into phone instead of relying on one connection for OTG (on the go) you can use 3 connections at the same time.
Probably best with older computers to be honest, my old computer doesn’t have a network card, but plugging into the router with this I can get internet access and 3 usb ports to boot.
