The thermometer has a display with backlight which isn’t on during settings so you have to turn on the light to see what you’re doing. The setting for adult doesn’t stay on, it needs to be set up every time. So much about going back to sleep by time time you take your temperature.
Why can’t the light just stay on? It would be a lot handier.
There’s an on/off button to the side and a button next to the display with you press to chose baby, toddler or adult. These options then appear on the screen but I can’t see them as the screen isn’t lit so have to shine a torch or similar onto the thermometer to see it. The screen does light up when turned on/off and when taking your temperature but not when picking your age range making it more difficult than it needs to be to use.
I’m glad that I purchased this thermometer as it’s quick and easy to use. I’ve used it a few times and after selecting the option of the age group you are testing the temperature of, it only takes a few seconds to give a reading. It gives a sense of ease to know that I can check my child’s temperature efficiency with accuracy. I would highly recommend this product.
Something about that green light is far more reassuring in those first few weeks than any other thermometer. It also takes the thinking out of it if you can’t quite remember what temperature is ok and at what age and stage.
Did I have two other thermometers? Yes. Do I regret this? No. I needed that reassurance and this is what I got.
Have not used it seriously yet but encountered a minor but important problem. It emits a sound when the reading is ready to view, but the frequency of the sound is above my hearing range! I am 82 years young and my hearing is not what it was but I am not ready for a hearing aid yet!
