Good little green house.
Easy enough to build with two people.
Plenty of shelving. I secured the shelving with a few tie wraps.
Only downside is it would benefit from a mesh window for ventilation.
The door needs to be rolled up daily to avoid excessive condensation.
Worth the money.
Can I buy a replacement cover for the greenhouse, my present one lasted 3yrs and had to put it out due to wear and tear, door ties bust and one zip about to burs
Excelle
Great quality and does the job. I would have liked better instructions but managed to get this up on my own.
For a pop up green house it’s worth the money.
Surprised howmuch you can get into one of these little greenhouses, not hard to assemble, I’ve put duct tape around the end of every connector to keep the poles more regid as they can keep falling out but it’s not needed. The plastic cover feels decent and better than the clear one I have got. I’m going to fix it to the fence just incase for strong winds but overall I’m very happy with this, for 85 free delivery in 4 days great value for money!
Good value for money
Great green house took me 2 hours on my own to build, a bit of help with the cover, careful the connectors Bs and Es, instructions not great in the end though common sense prevails
Lovely temporary greenhouse.
Present for my 9 year old, it wasn’t too difficult to put together and she’s excited to get her fruit and veg growing! We’re currently not able to put up a ‘proper’ greenhouse so this is a perfect temporary measure. It’s well constructed so I’m hopeful it will be in use for a couple of years atleast until we are ready for glass in the garden!
Fabulous Temporary Greenhouse
Get your lego infatuated kids to assemble this 3D masterpiece !
Took me an hour indoors to make each side, then carried them outdoors and completed the assembly in situ. Pegged it down, added cover, pegged that down and Voila ! our new Greenhouse. Staging is a bit flimsy, but adequate and shelving slides around ( cable ties came in useful to secure these in place ).
Very pleased and excellent for the price !
Missing pa
On the whole this seems like a sturdy construction and us bigger than I had anticipated, which is a bonus. However, a #3 pole is missing from the packaging and I cannot complete the construction or use 2 of the shelves without it, so this is disappointing. I guess I am about to find out how good your customer service is.
Okay.
Okay for what my missus needs it for.
Zip broke during assembly. Seems to be a common problem.
Everything else seems OK. No leaks at the moment.
We have weighted it down with some sandbags.
Weigh it dow
Putting the greenhouse together was fairly simple.
I have lots of deer visiting my garden and I was looking for a simple solution to protect my plants and seedlings from being eaten. This little green house serves its purpose although, I think it would be good for it to have a ventilation window. Also, i used four breeze blocks to attach the guide ropes to and also put two more breeze blocks across the middle bottom poles on the inside. I also used stone taken from my walls to weigh down the plastic on the outside as we get high winds and i had visions of it being blown out to sea.
Assembly – Instructions were easily presentable and took me and my brother 30 minutes to construct.
Quality of Material – Cover fabric seems okay, nothing too thick and supports/ joints aren’t the most robust and DO flex under moderate wind so keep an eye on them.
Stability – I have my greenhouse in my allotment and its slat bang in the middle of it exposed on UNEVEN ground so I have to add peagravel to support the floor as the mud was a bit clay like.
Under moderate to high wind the greenhouse tends to bend about 5 with the wind and the guy ropes that come with the green house ARE NOT adequate to fit, don’t let this deter you though, otherwise its a solid budget greenhouse. As picture above shows, I used some solid rope to use on one side of the green house ( wind always blows one direction over my allotment so I worked out what direction and used rope to support one side against the wind). I will be using steel rebar to use as stakes instead of paving slabs soon so budget some strong rope no more wider than 12mm otherwise won’t go through hoops for guy ropes.
Interior -does not come with flooring so budget some membrane floor or weed control fabric alongside some pea gravel or other stone to use on floor, will help block draughts.
Shelves are flimsy but work, they WILL need tie wraps I use 5 or 6 for each shelves as they easily fall off if not.
Will install a breather pipe in greenhouse in summer as only NEGATIVE is very poor lack of ventilation, I will water the stones on floor to help retain moisture as a result also.
Will also use a HEAVY Pot carrier and pot holder on top of the shelves as any movement will knock them off.
Hope this helped
Large sturdy walk-in greenhouse
This is really easy to assemble – especially if you’ve made one before. I love that it has the extra bars at the back as I had to buy extra connectors to do this with other products. It also has a very conveniently designed bar to allow you to put shelves at the back which I had not seen before. It is difficult to source a greenhouse of this size so it was great to get one on Amazon. The only slight disappointment is that that shelves are a little smaller than my previous. Overall I’m very satisfied.
Be warned
Fantastic greenhouse for the money but be warned the zips for the door are absolutely rubbish constantly coming off its track and today no longer zips together think I’ll have to buy clips or something to keep the door shut now.
Good purchase...
Lay out all the pieces before you start and make sure you do both sides at the same time. Easy to fit and you can manage on your own to put the cover on. The only fault are the wire shelves which keep falling of so would suggest you secure them with tags or wire. Very good green house to out your plants in over the winter and then tomatoes and vegetables in the summer. Good value product.
Not perfect, but certainly adequate
I wanted something that I could erect inside my glass greenhouse that would allow me to heat a smaller area in the winter months. So with that in mind, I cannot review wind resistance, though it does come with tie-downs and pegs, I’m not sure how much real use they’d be.
Assembly was reasonably easy if you refer to the pictogram. You have to make sure all the poles are inserted into the plastic parts fully or you are likely to rip the cover when pulling it over. It is sensible if there are two of you to pull the cover over the frame.
The shelving is all there, but lack sturdiness. They are just adequate for light seed trays, but not for lots of terracotta pots. You may want to think about how to reinforce some or all of the trays.
I would have preferred a clear cover version but sadly for some bizarre reason it could not be shipped to Ireland, but the green cover version could, why?
Genuinely decent product only let down by the weak shelving.
Expensive for what you are actually getting but that’s most of these plastic houses not just this one. More negatives than positives but better than nothing.
Negatives, the bars and plastic joints/connectors don’t fit snuggly so unless you strap various parts the structure just keep falling apart. Once the cover is on it does help but doesn’t stop connectors coming apart
The shelves themselves are very flimsy and do not sit properly over the bars and one little knock and the fall off. I strapped the shelves to the bars with small cable ties
A strong wind and the plastic and zipper part ways permanently. Not so bad if fully zipped down to the bottom
The ties to tie the plastic covering to the bars are so short, not easy for older or less dexterous hands to tie. Also ties are not in the best position, such as below the shelve bar where they won’t ride up as far.
Positives
Does give some mild frost protection at the beginning of the season
Does create a warmer growing environment which most varieties of tomatoes enjoy
A good place to store your bedding plants until they are ready to plant out if the weather is too wet or cold
A good quick fix solution but don’t expect a long lifetime. If options allows save up and buy something decent rather than keep shelling out year after yea
Love it!
Love it although it’s a shame the zip is only on the outside so when I go in and want to keep the heat in I have to do the zip up from the outside which is very fiddly otherwise it’s perfect, much hotter than a glass greenhouse and keeps the heat in better. Great for beginners. Took 2 people 2hrs to build as expected. Very happy with i
Erected in less than an afternoo
Came quickly at a time when it was hard to get a greenhouse to fit the space available. Placed on stone flags, it was erected in a couple of hours – not a lot of instruction, but not too difficult to work out and even had a couple of pieces over. Most difficult part was putting the cover on single-handedly – probably easier for two. Seems a good sturdy construction, although it is obviously light weight. The spikes for securing the guy ropes to the ground were useless in my case – might be OK in some lawns. I would recommend buying half a dozen concrete blocks and placing them over the bottom members. I have tied the guy ropes to adjoining fences and hedges. Will wait to see what a gale does, but the plastic fabric appears very robust.
I have waited until the end of the growing season to write a review for this greenhouse.
The installation is fairly quick to do. When we tried to put the cover on it wouldn’t fit so we have to try and push all the poles in some more. We did this a couple of times until we could fit in on and do the ties up in the corners.
The front door zips up and down and you can roll it up and tie it from underneath to keep it open. This is vital in warm weather as it does get very hot in the greenhouse. Too hot in my opinion and compared to a polytunnel we have at our allotment.
This greenhouse really could do with a window of some kind at the back so wind can pass through and keep air flowing and the plants cooler.
We also ended up putting heavy plant-pots on the cover around the edges to keep the greenhouse safe in high winds. Again a window at the back might help to stop this being such an issue.
We were able to grow an assortment of vegetables and salad in the greenhouse but compared to a polytunnel they didn’t fair as well. However that’s not to say growing the greenhouse was bad. I would say that the greenhouse is most useful to bring plants on at the start of the growing season before you move them on.
Now that we have taken it down (until next spring) we have notices some tearing in the cover especially at the top edges, probably caused by winds pushing hard against the cover.
We will we use it again? Yes, absolutely.
Is it equal to or better than a traditional greenhouse or polytunnel? No, but then it doesn’t cost nearly as much.
Put this up with the help of my grown up son. Open the box and slight panic attack when seeing how many parts there are. Easy to assemble but the instructions are appalling. Easy enough to take apart when realising parts are in the wrong place. (It’s all slot together, no tools needed).
It didn’t take two of us very long to complete. (about an hour).
Once up I have to say I’m very impressed. Larger than I was expecting. I’m 6ft and stand inside easily and plenty of space inside to walk about and turn around. 14 individual shelves that hang on the frame so can be taken off and put back on very easily. (Once the plants get to big for the shelf just remove the shelf above).
I don’t have space to put guy ropes down but in a sheltered area. I’ll have to see what happens when the winds blow. (I’m not too concerned to be honest).
Overall… Very pleased with it indeed.
