I mainly bought the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 for recording videos, and for that it has been excellent. The biggest advantage is simply how small and practical it is. On holidays or family days out, I can put it in a small bag or pocket and actually carry it around all day, rather than deciding a bigger camera is too much effort.
The stabilisation is probably what makes the biggest difference compared with casually filming on a normal camera. Walking videos look much smoother, which is especially useful when you are moving around attractions, travelling or trying to record a toddler who never stays still.
The rotating screen also makes it quick to switch between filming what is in front of you and recording yourself.
For photos I would still prefer a dedicated camera or sometimes my phone, but for video this is the device I am much more likely to actually take with me.
It is not cheap, but the combination of size, stabilisation and video quality makes it one of those products that is genuinely useful rather than something that stays at home because it is too bulky.
I spent ages researching the different vlogging cameras as needed something that was durable and quality was good.
After doing some research, it seemed that this was the one people recommended so I purchased.
Now for my honest review, I absolutely love it. The battery life is fantastic as I’ve take it out on adventures away where I’ve been able to use it for a day plus more without having to worry about battery life.
The stability features and tracking is a bonus because it’s great for what I needed which was creating content as well as my vlogs. The high quality images and video results speak for themselves.
Only thing I have to say is I wish I bought it sooner. If you are in doubt then don’t be as worth every penny!
I spent way too much time obsessing over whether to wait for the Pocket 4 or Pocket 4 pro or just grab the Osmo Pocket 3, but I finally pulled the trigger on the 3 at a very low price in the prime sale. I was previously lugging around a Sony Alpha camera for B-roll and travel shots. While swapping lenses on a dedicated camera is nice, it was just too bulky for quick, on-the-go content creation. Switching to this completely streamlined how I shoot without sacrificing image quality. The build quality of the DJI device is absolutely phenomenal , although I am very cautious with the gimbal and took the DJI care offer just in case.
The twistable 2-inch OLED screen is easily one of my favourite features because flipping it into native vertical shooting mode makes grabbing clips for social media effortless. Inside, that 1-inch CMOS sensor punches way above its weight class compared to phone cameras, especially in low light where noise usually ruins shots. I have been running mine with a Black Mist filter attached, and it softens up the highlights to give everything a really soft, cinematic look. If you like editing your own footage, shooting flat in D-Log M gives you plenty of dynamic range to colour grade in post.
The mechanical gimbal keeps movement smooth even when walking fast, but here is a big pro tip regarding sound. The built-in stereo mics are fine for basic background audio, but if you pair the camera directly with wireless DJI Mics, it turns this into a killer pocket-sized interview setup. The camera connects straight to the transmitters without needing extra receivers or messy cables, which saves a ton of setup time on location.
If I have one caveat, it is that you cannot cheap out on memory cards. Because the camera pushes high bitrates for features like 4K 120fps slow-mo, budget microSD cards will cause buffer errors and freeze up mid-recording. You really need a fast V30 UHS-I Speed Grade 3 card, like a SanDisk Extreme Pro or Lexar Silver, to keep up. Also, if you are upgrading from an older generation, keep in mind none of the Pocket 2 accessories will fit this body, so you are buying into a fresh ecosystem. However it will transfer over to the pocket 4 should you ever upgrade.
Battery life easily gets me through a full day of intermittent shooting, and the quick charge is fast, topping up to 80% in about 18 minutes over USB-C. You can even keep it running off a portable power bank while recording so you never hit a wall during long events.
For anyone wanting high-end B-roll and quick video clips without dragging a heavy camera bag around, this thing has exceeded my expectations! Low light performance is also good.
The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is extremely portable and easy to carry anywhere, making it perfect for travel and everyday shooting. The compact size means it slips into a pocket or small bag with no hassle, and it feels very well designed in hand. Battery life is solid for its size, especially for short to medium filming sessions, and it pairs well with a range of accessories for added flexibility. Everything fits together perfectly, and overall it offers great value for money for the quality you get.
This is probably the best vlog camera I have seen and experienced. Very portable, great quality result, functionality connectivity are all great. The gimble is very very sensitive though so I would be extra careful when using it. If you are thinking of doing some action shoot, I think other cameras will be more suitable. I like to hold my camera and shoot so this suits me well. Love how portable and handy it is.
The only problem that I have to give this only 4 stars is because it’s not possible to unbind without knowing the previous owner. When you buy it from Amazon Resale as Like New or Very Good, it’s likely that it has already been activated and Amazon or Dji won’t be able to help you to unbind. You can still use the camera freely but probably just me, I never feel like I own the camera or in my case, I can’t even purchase the Care Fresh because the activation date is beyond 30 days.
Please be aware of that when purchase the Amazon Resale one.
After all I returned the Amazon Resale one and bought myself a completely new, because this camera is just great and I’m looking forward to use it more.
I have many cameras but needed a small camera with great picture quality and stabilisers and yes this camera has both if your looking for a good zoom this is not the camera for that it’s more of a vlog walking etc camera. It’s also got a good long battery IV filmed a video recently it lasted over an hour the battery was still good. It’s very small I purchased the extra DJI mics so I could attach to my ghost hunting crew the distance from camera the mics worked was not so good for what I needed but the quality was good is the camera worth the money and buying I’d say yes is the extra mic packs worth buying probably as the overall recording quality is better just be awair the distance from camera is limited

I use this mainly for filming my bees, I like that it is so small and easy to move around. I wish the min focus distance was a bit closer though.
I had the previous version of this and whilst I was happy with it, the video quality just wasn’t up to scratch. However, this version is a massive upgrade.
The video quality is so much better. Along with improved tracking and portrait mode it just feels like they’ve taken on-board all the feedback and made positive changes.
First impressions...
It is a cool gadget with lots of capabilities. I am very impressed. Very sensitive, small, “stealth” device. A bit tedious to install app, firmware etc.
I explored the menus and got a general idea of how it works.
I would prefer the carrying bag to be slightly larger.
I haven’t tried yet the mic or used it in real conditions. So time to start playing seriously with this amazing gadget and I will update my review.
I waited and waited for the Combo Kit to come back into stock but I was just to impatient and so I bought the standard pack. All you get is the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and basic USB3 extension with the 14/20 screw thread. I was a bit disapointed I couldn’t get the Combo Kit anywhere but I thought I can always just by the accessories like the tripod, the Mic and the Battery extension later.
I’m glad I didn’t. A tripod is buttons on Amazon that is relatively similar to the DJI Osmo one. Also the Battery life on the DJI Osmo 3 is plenty. It charges pretty quickly with the in car USB and a full charge lasts 3 hours. OK the Mic 2 sounds like a great option but I bought the cheaper FullAim X5 kit for 119 and is has been doing a stella job.
Save your money get this kit. It’s the Pocket 3 itself that is important not the accessories.

This is a great camera . It provide excellent clear HD end result . Used it as view cam during recent conference meeting it works great with clear vision . However battery don’t last .
This is a game changing camera
Don’t confuse this with action cameras, this is in a different league. It can do what many professional mirrorless cameras still can’t. The 1″ sensor is amazing and with phase detect autofocus has action cameras looking like poor smart phones. The built-in gimbal stabilisers the footage without the need for digital effects of over sharpening . The footage looks cinematic and features like 10 bit colour, 120k in 4k and log profile are unheard of in most full frame cameras. It’s sound is excellent and the remote microphone option gives an even more professional sound quality . It’s an amazing camera. I own cameras that cost thousands and most can’t match the quality of this ultra small setup.

Been only testing and tweaking saving profiles Auto isn’t bad after the newest update even more happy yet to try new webcam feature the free software very basic can’t search templates via app need find better software just don’t like free one the camera great night shots are great yet to try out moon hyperlapse and new webcam mode after update still testing but have fun doing it definitely get into photography great starter camera for beginners very happy.

What a great device!
I have had the Pocket 1 previously – the Pocket 3 just takes everything to a whole new level! I’m not one for using the smartphone app, so the larger screen on the Pocket 3 really brings the unit to life! Easy to use and comes in a great bundle with a handy carry case.
Will need to see how the rotating screen holds up over time with continued use, but otherwise quality is fantastic, especially low light capture, and it’s feature rich. You need to practise how to use a gimbal rather then just ‘run and gun’ for the smoothest shots. But otherwise its highly recommended!
Great replacement and upgrade from my original Osmo Pocket. Further improved picture quality and features on an already great product. Although not waterproof so much better than a GoPro. Great battery life, portability and quality.
I bought this because it’s a perfect balance of image quality and unobtrusive media capture. I think some people are missing the fact that this is easily one-handable and produces much higher quality video than most phones, not to mention the outstanding gimbal stabe. It also has the benefit of making people less self-conscious when filming with it in a public space because it’s not a phone or typical camera body. Really a fantastic creative tool that I can’t recommend highly enough.
So I got the basic kit as I have a microphone set up and the big battery didn’t really matter.
What I wanted was something better than my old Osmo Pocket.
The first thing you notice is this thing has grown in size and is no where as easy to chuck in your pocket. Tho it is still small it’s just bigger if your use to the orginal or mark 2.
Image wise, it’s very good, especially in good lighting and the low light is good also but it’s still only phone quality, a 1″ sensor is still small.
What I was very impressed with is the active tracking, miles better and really makes this so much a better tool for filmmaking, you lock them on and can just run and it keeps them in focus.
The log modes come in useful for matching up different cameras colours etc.
So overall is it worth it, from a new buyer definitely. Is it 490 better than the older ones, no. Its better no doubt but still alot to invest if you already own one.
For me the two strong points are the active track and the log. This makes it great for moving shots when working with other cameras.
This style camera is a must for any rising filmmaker out there.
