1. How long is the battery life of Solocam S340？
3 Months*. *Based on 300 seconds of recording time per day. Actual battery life depends on several factors such as the number of times motion is detected, event recording duration, and environmental temperatures.
2. Why doesn’t my SoloCam S340 battery stay at 100%?
Power collected by the solar panel depends on the weather and available sunlight. If little energy is collected in a day, the battery level may go down. It can run for up to 3 months on battery and it will be charged once the weather is sunny.
3. Does SoloCam S340 support local AI?
Human Detection and Vehicle Detection run natively on the local AI. When connected to HomeBase 3, the added power allows Human Detection to be upgraded to Human Recognition.
4. Does SoloCam S340 support 24×7 recording?
No. Battery cameras aren’t currently capable of 24/7 recording, even if connected to HomeBase 3.
5. Which HomeBase S380 features are SoloCam S340 compatible with?
When connected to HomeBase S380, SoloCam S340 will be able to utilize the storage capacity of HomeBase S380 and the AI will be enhanced with BionicMind, enabling familiar faces, human recognition, vehicle detection, and pet detection.

First photo is the Eufy , second is a ring camera. Look at the difference. So much clearer. My garden is 100 ft. I can now see when the hedgehog is in the garden and not let my dog out . Best camera I’ve purchased !!
Great CCTV camera and it charges pretty well even up here in Scotland where it’s raining and cloudy most of the time. You only need a couple of hours to fully charge it and mine has aways been on 90% charge all the time.

Absolutely brillia
Was dubious based on it being solar powered, but this has been excellent, it doesn’t charge everyday, there is logic for charging in order to preserve battery health. The tracking on the camera is brilliant, it has only not tracked properly during the night, but I didn’t have the LED light enabled.
Really good security device
Really impressed with this camera. I mounted the solar panel away from the camera as camera was on an east facing wall. Length of extension was just enough. Looking on the Eufy website they don’t do a longer one which is unfortunate as I’m sure some people would want this.
Great picture, no subscription and tracking of people or vehicles is great.
Pity they don’t sell it in black as well, as white against my wall sticks out like a sore thumb.
Well worth the money
A bit more expensive than other options but it was simple to set up and install via the phone app and a super quality picture both day and night. I bought it after reading a review of products in The Telegraph (Jan-2024) where it was the outstanding winner and I really can’t fault it.
Easy to install
Arrived quickly and was relatively easy to install. The book of instructions is fairly basic and I needed to search on the internet on how to view the solar dashboard but not really a problem. Still happy to give 5 stars as the overall experience so far has been good.

Eufy wireless camera
What a great product. Up until recently I have been using Anker wired system with 2 cameras out in the back garden. I’v just swapped the 2for this one. Due to pan and tilt I only need the one. All I can say is great product. I have another two wireless solar panel cameras in the front garden and the version 3 of the box. IV had the camera up for 1week now and because of the solar panel it’s still at 100% even in our English weather.

So easy to set up, connect on apps and mount up the wall in less 20 mins, great quality pictures to see during the day and night time too! Definitely worth it 10/10 .

Easy to set up. Self powered via solar panel is a plus. No need for any cables. Local storage is great, saves on monthly payments for cloud based data storage.

Solar panel keeps the battery charged, the camera has two lenses one of which will zoom in for a close up while the other will give the normal view and it will also automatically track the person that has activated the camera, there’s also a light for night time activity, it really is a great bit of kit.
The eufy Security SoloCam S340 Dual Cameras is a lot better than its predecessor in the range in terms of performance on detecting humans only, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The setup was straightforward, and the wireless design made installation a breeze. The 3K resolution provides crystal-clear images, and the 360 surveillance ensures there are no blind spots. I love that it’s solar-powered, so I don’t have to worry about constantly changing batteries or wiring. Plus, the fact that there’s no monthly fee for cloud storage is a huge bonus. Plus, being HomeBase 3 compatible adds even more convenience. Overall, a fantastic security solution without any monthly fees and I highly recommend this camera for anyone looking for reliable outdoor security surveillance.
Truly no maintenance wireless camera. Replaced my Blink cameras
I bought this product in Mid December to test the solar charging and can now confirm that after 6 weeks and over 500 events recorded, it is at full battery still. The camera itself is south facing so has the best sunlight available. I have a north facing camera on the rear that isn’t doing as well but is still at around 75% battery. Also the 128GB SD card that it comes with for local storage is plenty big enough. Fully recommended.
Had the security camera for around 3 weeks now. On the plus side, this was so easy to install and started working straight away. The small solar panel is more than adequate to keep it charged even in early Jan in UK. Alerts to my phone are almost instantaneous. Good quality videos both by day and night. Had a minor query not covered in the guides but emailed customer service and got a reply an hour later that sorted the query.
On the minus side, the range of the PIR is limited to around 10m so covers my front door and the back of the driveway but not people or vehicles entering the drive 20m away until they are well into the drive. Am seriously considering getting another to cover the driveway entrance.
In summary, excellent no subscription fit and forget security camera.
I knew Eufy products were good, but I was a little sceptical about the claims made by Eufy about this camera, especially the “forever power” thing. However, it’s actually true, I installed the camera the day it arrived. The power level initially dropped from 100% to 91% in the first couple of days then rose back up to 96% and has stayed there ever since. It is triggered on average around 40 – 50 times every 24 hours. The AI is great recognises humans and tracks them perfectly day or night, does not get triggered by animals (we live in the middle of nowhere), the nightvision is really good. I love it. Probably going to buy another one when it’s discounted again and I will replace my current video doorbell with a Eufy one.

However, there are a couple of drawbacks that I’ve noticed in my experience with the product. The charging speed of the solar panel is notably slow, which can be a significant inconvenience. I’ve found that even with adequate sunlight, the unit struggles to charge efficiently, often depleting the battery faster than it can recharge. This can be a concern for those who live in areas with less consistent sunlight. Removing to charge the battery would be a great hassele as this was fixed at some height.
Additionally, the camera’s image quality under low light conditions is very poor. In fact the image quality is good as long as you dont rotate the camera. When moving the camera, the color vision becomes noticeably distorted, which compromises the identification of people/cars during critical moments.
In conclusion, while the eco-friendly design and wide coverage are impressive, the slow solar charging and issues with image quality under low light movement are areas that could be refined. It’s a solid attempt at a sustainable security solution, but it may require a larger solar panel or easy backup charging solutions and adjustments for optimal use during all hours.
This camera is easy to install, the solar panel works a treat even in the winter months it seems to keep it topped up. The quality of the image is outstanding even at night. The tracking works perfect. software is a bit buggy though, it totally ignores motion areas at night when cars pass by. Not a major issue though

Solar security meets 360-degree vigilance
This outdoor camera has become a reliable guardian for my home. With its dual cameras, the device left nowhere unseen, providing a comforting blanket of security. Its solar-powered functionality meant I could install it and forget about it, trusting it to do its job. Even at night, the clarity didn’t falter, giving me a precise view of the surroundings. I found the dual-view feature particularly useful, allowing me to focus on details without losing sight of the bigger picture. It was reassuring to have such an eye in the sky without the worry of additional fees or complicated setups.
For 179 I find these really good value for money. These 2 cameras replace blink cameras. I now capture all motion clips where before hand it was hit and miss. The picture quality is great both during the day and at night. They were really easy to setup and fit, I had them working within 10 minutes. I had one delivered this morning and it was so good I ordered another which was delivered this afternoon. Same day delivery from Amazon is good as well!
A quality package
I like this camera a lot. The quality is very high, with resolutions sufficient to pick out details at a distance. It’s easy to mount, provided you don’t mind drilling into bits of your property. The solar panel makes it difficult to tamper with as well as alleviates the issue of having to run wiring to the outside. However, relying on the solar panel alone is a risk unless you’re placing it where you get constant day-time access to high quality sunlight. A couple of times I found it faltering during cloudy days and longer nights, which isn’t quite what you want in a security camera.
As part of an array of security cameras though, the highly flexible nature of its positioning makes it a strong contender.
I have a Eufy outdoor wifi camera system with a Eufy Homebase 3 hub. Unlike the other reviews here I actually paid for this camera to add to may system. The build quality is really good and having a wide angle and a 3 times zoom lens on the same camera is really useful. The video quality is top notch with faces clear and recognised by the Ai built into the Homebase 3, it recognises family members 90% of the time. Being able to choose what the camera notifies you of also cuts down on unwanted recordings. My camera is mounted on the front of the house and is south facing and even now in October is 100% charged ( just remember to Fully charge the camera before installing). I would fully recommend this camera if you are looking for a simple to install solar camera. p.s you also have an extension cable in the box if you need to install the solar panel away from the camera body. I was not sent a free camera I did pay for the camera myself.
The hardware on this security camera is very good.
The quality of the picture has throughly impressed me in the day and also at night, I’ve mounted mine 2 floors up as it is easier for maintenance and I can get a full view of my driveway with a surprisingly good quality.
At the distance i have installed the camera away from my driveway, the flood light doesn’t help much with colour night vision but you don’t really need it with how well the IR works. The flood light can still be used as a deterrent/alarm.
Both the cameras are good quality, in the daytime, I can easily read stationary numberplate from about 20+m. At night, this is much more challenging and I can really only read a number plate clearly when head on and around 10m.
Mounting is easy with all the parts included bar a drill.
The solar panel does charge the camera albeit a bit slow. The battery lasts me through the night so maybe the battery is fairly large. I found it better to fully charge it off the mains first and set up the camera and then install it onto your designated wall. Also by doing this, in theory you could have it permanently powered if you didn’t want to use the solar panel or you could rig up something fancy to use both but you lose the beauty of this being essentially wireless.
The weakest part of this camera is actually the app which isn’t bad but does have its bugs. Several times, I have needed to close the app and restart it to update the feed. This seems to mainly be caused by the app starting back up from sitting in the background. From previous experience from Anker products, they are fantastic off the bat but rarely have updates after purchase so I’m not expecting much of an improvement past this.
