    Bello, consigliato

I really like this shell! It feels smooth, thick, just nice to hold in the hands. Not flimsy like some thinner plastics may be. The color shift is really good too. It comes with all the pieces needed for the shell and plenty of extra screws.
The first three pictures are what I had to trim and sand on the inside to get fit the Funnyplaying GBA sp ITA screen. Basically all the inner walls had to go entirely and had to sand away at an angle a little of the screw holes to have just enough to get the fit. It’s rough looking, which is to be expected from my first screen mod as I changed shells from my original flame red, but it worked as shown by the last picture with everything together! I’m pretty pleased with myself! Just watch how tight the top screws are when putting it all back together as you can squeeze the corners of the ita screen leaving a little blob looking spot until you relive the pressure, but you can still finesse it tight enough to stay securely closed!!
Would be lovely if future versions can consider a way to fit a wider variety screens or a little easier to potentially trim as needed! I made this work because I was determined to give it a try before I jumped to the shells provided by Funnyplaying, and I’m quite glad I did.

Quite a lovely replacement shell! Does need trimming to fit the Funnyplaying gba sp ITA screen!

Perfect, the right shape and size as a real gameboy, fits all of the og gameboy parts and some of the reviews said the screws that came with this don’t go in right, but I disagree the screws work just well the only screws I really had a problem with was the y screws but probably my fault, only reason why I’m giving this 4 stars is cause I’m missing 2 Pieces that hold the top screen to the bottom screen, so now I have to compromise on what I can use to to hold it togethe

I was rebuilding a cobalt blue GBA SP i got from ebay because multiple parts (mostly the motherboard) was rusted and there was rust dust everywhere. ultimately i decided to just rebuild the whole thing. New shell, New screen, New motherboard, etc. now I will admit the only qualm I do have in the rebuilding process is that the shell should’ve came with hinge brackets, but luckily they’re were not expensive. Also after the rebuild was complete, I noticed that the cartridge slot is a bit tight, but all in all, it worked out perfectly. before photo is the one with the Yu-Gi-Oh game screen, after, is the picture with the system screen.

This might be a bit of a biased review, but I love all of eXtremeRate’s products. They are high quality products that are made to fit. I love the material they are made out of as well. A real pleasure to hold. A couple of notes for this particular product. Yes, it comes with all the hardware needed to build the system with a couple of exceptions. 1st, it does not come with new hinge pins, only the covers. 2nd, it does not come with the circlip to retain the battery door screw. You will need to harvest these parts from the old system that you are reshelling. I actually harvested all the hardware from my old system because I wanted it to have a factory feel which means reusing the tri-wing screws. These screws, as far as I can tell, I never actually opened the bag of hardware so I am not sure, has been replaced with standard phillips head screws. It comes with a new SN label but not a battery door label, which can be ordered from etsy. For those of you who want the systems unique SN on your main label, you can also get one of those on etsy. As noted in the product description, the main board and screen do not come in the kit, it would be a lot more expensive if they did. It also does not come with a new glass for the screen. You can pick one of those up if needed on amazon. It also does not come with a battery. This is just a shell.

I am very happy how this shell looks. It comes with some spare parts, which is always appreciated incase you lose something. The only thing I couldn’t use was the foam included. I think its only for an IPS screen. I put my AGS 101 in it and it fits good. I recommend this product!

Tried two other shells from other companies which were a terrible fit but this one is perfect in every way super nice fit and really high quality. Extremerate are the best in my opinion I use their switch Xbox and ps5 shells a lot never had an issue not once!! Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing quality!!

This shell feels quite nice in hand. It feels sturdy enough to last for a while and looks very nice too.

An issue that it had on arrival, but I’ve fixed was a rubbing plastic sound when the hinge moved. This was caused by a small bit of plastic that I had to file down. It wasn’t a difficult job, but it warants a mention incase anyone else deals with it. After that I had no troubles to date.

The screws included aren’t the best. After some fiddling with them I decided to throw them aside and simply reuse the screws from my old shell. The screwdrivers included aren’t much better.

But overall I think it’s a worthwhile pickup if you’re trying to find a good reshell for your SP.

This was surprisingly easy to do. The hinge was abit finicky with how you have to role up the ribbon cable but other than that everything was good. I would say be careful when screwing in the screw’s because I have managed to crack the shell through over tightening. So when screwing in keep an eye on both sides of the shell so you don’t make the same mistake I did!

However i did have to use the hinges out of the old shell because it didnt come with any

The shell is amazing, it looks so clean and new. I got the blue/purple one and it looks amazing!
The shell fit with my new IPS panel perfectly and it feels like I have a brand new gameboy.

The kit comes with everything you need to replace the shell and had plenty of spares like screws. I could be wrong but it seemed like they included enough screws to make your whole gameboy either phillips headscrews or tri-wing screws but I just replaced the screws same order and type as my original case.

Two things to watch out for, when replacing your shell make sure you watch their video on youtube about how to replace the volume slider as I almost broke mine, the other thing is the shell is not very scratch resistant.

When you are assembling the kit make sure you rest it on something soft as I briefly put mine on the desk and it got some minor scratches, you have to look to find them but still.

Overall I am super happy with this kit and would highly recommend.
