This pair of bracers arrived in a simple plastic bag. Inside, each one is in its own plastic sleeve.
They’re well made with good stitching and all of the rivets/eyelets are properly fitted. The inside is smooth so they’re quite comfortable to wear.
They are supplied with waxed laces but I have replaced these with elastic shoelaces. This means I can slide them on and off easily and they’re more comfortable when on as there’s a bit of give.
I actually ordered these for a pirate themed fancy dress party as I thought they looked a bit ‘piratey’.
These bracers are well made, look good and are comfortable to wear. At only 12.99 for the pair I think they’re a bargain so they get 5 stars.
Currently making myself an outfit somewhat inspired by the look of the Amazons in the 2017 Wonder Woman film, but with more of a Goth black leather punk edge.
These bracers came up at just the right time!
The leather plates are thick, strong, well-edged and solidly stitched; no signs of fraying and should be reasonably resilient. They have a smooth finish with a slight sheen but without being glossy. The firmly attached metal studs, rings and eyelets have a slightly tarnished patina rather than being bright silver, which works better for fantasy warrior, historical, medieval, whatever purposes. The raised detail parts are very firmly affixed.
The laces are generously long and strong enough to take a bit of abuse in repeated lacing, tugging, tying, etc. The length allows for the bracers to be bound directly onto a bare arm or placed over sleeves, etc, even fairly bulky materials. (It will go over a fairly close-fitting chain-mail sleeve, for example, ’cause I tested that). Worn tightly on bare arms, I found the bracers very comfortable and with very little tendency to start sliding around my arms and trying to go upside-down.
The bracers arrive flat and unlaced. Lacing them is a very simple, easy procedure, quicker than lacing the average shoe. They are then easily adjusted to your own needs.
Good quality costume components, durable and should last well, they look nice and pretty good value too. Recommended.
