This was bought as my daughters first real bike.
Previously she has been learning on second hand bikes, so was thrilled with this bike.
The quality is good, and it relatively easy to put together.
I have read other reviews. yes, there is no back peddle (this is US style breaking), however just move the bike forward a bit and you can get a peddle to just off top, to start riding.
Lastly from a parent position, this style of bike makes it much easier to help with the transition to two wheels only
