It works as intended but I didn’t get the allen key in the box to remove the tripod mount and despite contacting K&F about this I’ve had no reply otherwise it would have been 5 stars.
Update…K&F did finally contact me and are sending out the tool to remove the tripod mount so have increased the star rating accordingly
This adaptor does exactly what it’s designed to do: Allow the use of EF lenses on an RF mount with full AF functionality & reliability. Less than half the price of the genuine Canon equivalent, but does the job just as well. 100% recommended.
his unit does not provide AF for the EF 85mm 1.2 lens and has to operate in manual focus. However, when switched to the EF 35mm f1.4 the AF is working.
I’m not sure why and decided to return this unit and get another brand.
This is the Lens adapter to get if going from Tamron Adaptall – 11 to Canon EF / S body, it’s very well made, a very good fit your lens wont fall off the camera, far better than the slim cheaper versions.
Great.
I have an old Tamron 500mm mirror lens that I bought in 1985. I had long thought it was now useless. But no! This adapter actually works so I can use it on my Canon EOS 400D camera. I just set the mode to aperture priority and reduce the exposure by one stop and then use as before. (I set the exposure to one stop under because the lens always seemed to work at a 5.6 aperture setting instead of the 8.0 it was meant to be).
So now I have my old lens.
Bought this cos I have some old fd lenses and a new 80d camera I would like to say at this time it feels a quality bit of kit. Now I have had some issues with it regarding a flare in the centre of the image, it looks the same as the dampness you get on the inner elements with big temp changes That circular mist. But it is a flare and I can work with it, the old lenses have full focal function to infinity and the manual side is great to play with 🙂 how many pics can you fit on 32 gigs. I was on the verge of sending it back so glad I gave it a second chance. Hope my comments are useful.
I now have three different K&F Concept lens adapters and am delighted with the quality and functionality of all of them. This particular adapter I wanted to use on 4 Canon FD prime lenses I had picked up, 28mm, 50mm, 135mm and 200mm, to use on my Canon 7D and 50D, it works brilliantly on both. Obviously you set your aperture on the lens plus focus manually but all great fun and whilst a lot slower than using a modern lens with electrical contact between the body and the lens, the results from ‘vintage’ lenses can be quite stunning. Although obviously different but a similar adapter, I also have a K&F adapter that allows me to use the same FD lenses on my Lumix G80 4-3 mirrorless camera, that works brilliantly too !
