Good grip and worth the price
This box has 3 rolls of green tape (each 5m long). The tape offers excellent adhesive properties, providing additional grip without being affected by sweat. It feels solid yet soft. While the rolls aren’t large, they suffice for the purpose. It has great ease of application and longevity, I use it to protect my fingers from being cut or scraped while I’m metalworking. Overall, it’s worth the price.

Distinctive | Sticky | Great Value
You can tell some thought has gone into Mammal straightaway with the well-presented packaging which opens to reveal a QR code (takes you to the Mammal website), and three neatly packaged rolls of tape.

The only way to describe this type of tape is as sticky bandage tape; very sticky! The tape is also very elastic & stretchy making it versatile and able to stretch around hands or fingers easily.

My use is for wheelchair fingers to stop getting blisters on my thumbs. I’ve only used it once so far but I’m quite happy and would definitely buy these again. If this changes I’ll update my review.

      Sticks well and flexible.
I was looking for a cohesive flexible bandage with good adhesion and this worked perfectly. Edges do not unroll and it doesn’t restrict movement as much as a regular bandage tape.
It does have a chemical like smell to it but over the course of a few hours in use this smell has faded. So far after 5 hours of use it has not irritated my sensitive skin like most adhesive tapes do.

      No more calluses
Fantastic tape, feels solid and soft at the same time.

You get 3 rolls, not that large each by the way, so not like you get a lot, but i don’t need much, as i only use it for the harder dumbbells and barbells, as with more weight on them, it will hurt my hands and cause calluses, not a big issue but still not great.

This tape is super easy to apply, it’s really sticky and stays on there for ages, it still feels really grippy but also much softer on the hands.

Even with sweat and chalk mixed up, it still is working great and lasting for quite a while.

It’s also green and quite visible so you can’t mistake it.

If you are using this as a pet wrap use a fabric interleave too.
I ordered this to use as a pet wrap for my dog’s paw. This material is a crinkly elastic type material that clings to itself. The difference between this and my usual wrap is this is also sticky so I needed to keep this away from their fur. Otherwise this is similar in use, avoiding wrapping too tight is essential so the little bit of stickiness is helpful.

Mammal Strength thumb tape ~ 3 pack
So the description states this is a:-
Mammal Strength thumb tape ~ 3 pack. Super sticky & stretchy lifting tape for powerlifting, olympic lifting, cross training. Flexible & easily tearable ~ 5 metre.

This tape is stretchable and strong but you can also rip it where you need to if you do not have scissors.
No need for medical tape to finish off because this acts like a bandage and tape all in one.

It acts like velcro once wrapped around and comes into contact with each other.

The price at the time of this review is 10.79, which works out to be 3.60 each.

I will update this review if needed.

      Good adhesive but pinches
Having 3 different colours of tape is appealing for aesthetic reasons, though they are essentially all the same tape otherwise.
Good strength thumb tape with good adhesive qualities for grip during weightlifting. Works well to keep sweat from interfering with your grip.

However, I personally felt that it does pull a bit too much on your skin, essentially just shifting the discomfort elsewhere.

It does what it’s meant to, and Good value for money. Just maybe not for someone who isn’t used to/doesn’t get on with lifting tape.

Good tape, on the expensive side
This is nice and sticky and stretchy, like kinesiology tape, but easier to use and more versatile. Although designed for weight lifting, it is suitable for injuries, particularly around the hand, where you need a more complicated wrap than wide tape allows. Starting the roll was even more infuriating that trying to unpick the end on a roll of sellotape. In the end I had to attack it with scissors.

      Quality tape!
This is superb quality tape. Really does make a difference when lifting and get the feel it won’t break on you. Nice patterns on the tape but not really an important part. I would highly recommend this tape!

best thumb tape on the marke
Thumb tape is a VERY niche thing, which is why I was super happy seeing some Mammal Strength on Vine.
You see, it’s not much, but wrapping up for me really changed how I lift, I’m way less likely to struggle on grip, I haven’t felt that ‘dead hand’ thing since I started, and I don’t get that really annoying callus that gets just on the base of the thumb and can get really annoying.

So for the people new to this, it’s just a band of slightly stretchy cloth-like tape, sticky on one side, you wrap around the base of your thumb, to protect it from knurling and torque. And it works really well.
You get three rolls, in differenc colours, and it’s a good way to introduce yourself (and see if it works for you). Anyway, get a look at youtube first, and see how to apply, and you’re sorted.
In short, it doesn’t look like much but will deeply impact how you go about free weights

      Ideal for pet injury
Whilst this is not here intended use our dog has an injury to her leg, this has been ideal to keep the bandaging in place, super stretchy and super adhesive, this is a also easy to remove and change when dressing the wound daily or when she has got the bandage wet.

      Very versatile tape
      Mammal Strength Thumb Tape
This is very versatile tape. It is obviously designed and sold for use in power lifting but it’s actually good for so many things. I always have some of this in my first aid box. It’s great for use a support bandage or for keeping dressings in place. I even use it on the dogs if they have an injury as it stays in place well and they don’t seem to be able to remove this the way they do other bandages. You get three banadages in a box each one a different colour / design and each one 5m in length. I think that’s is pretty good value and I would certainly recommend.

      Two thumbs up
A broken collar bone put the gym-going member of my family out of action for a while, but he has now used this and given it the thumbs up. It is as described, sticky and useful.

He says his wrist hasn’t been the same since the accident that snapped his collar bone, but wrapping it up with this tape has really helped with that as well.

      Excellent adhesio
I obtained this in the hope that it could be used to strap up an injured ankle, and indeed it can, being in essence cohesive bandage. It is indeed very sticky so holds to itself well, stretchable, and easy to tear (rather than having to use scissors) when applying.

I’ve given it 5 stars because although there are slightly cheaper per metre options on Amazon in this width of sports/weightlifting tape (better for small areas like fingers/thumbs) and much cheaper ones in wider tapes, this one does advertise both it and its packaging as being completely plastic free, which is a good thing. If that doesn’t bother you, you might wish to shop around.

      Best adhesive of any tape
I have tried every branded tape on the market. I train up to 4 hour sessions each day and the mammal 3.0 tape is the only tape with adhesive that lasts that length of training without fault. Can’t recommend enough.

      Cheap & Cheerful for CrossFi
Sticks really well, especially to itself if wrapping thumbs/fingers.

Also works pretty well to stick to the hand directly to cover splits/tears as needed (will need changing quite often if high reps as expected tbh)

Would buy again, considering one roll got drenched from a leaking water bottle, dried out and it still sticks as well as the other roll I have left!

Great Value, Best tape I’ve tried by far.
Best tape I’ve used so far. Getting almost twice as much on a roll compared to other more expensive brands. Stays in place. No residue after you remove it. Can mould it nicely to fit. Super easy to tear but great sticking power. Stays in place for 10,000m on a Skierg and no blisters. Good for my wheelchair use as well.

Why didn't I buy this sooner!
Firstly as per the title… why I didn’t buy this sooner I’ll never know.

      Pros: Sticky as hell!
Nice flex and spring to it.
So easy to thumb wrap and tear in one go.
Various funky colours to match day, mood or
      even lifters.
      Tape goes so far!

Cons: I haven’t used the rolls I have got so I can buy some more!!!

You need this in your life!

This have been a saving grace for my thumbs in training. Preventing my thumbs to be ripped apart and improving my grip on the bar. Will be looking to repeat purchase once I’ve used these up

Love it! I have all the colours just to keep it interesting. Easy to apply and easy to rip. Great for giving me confidence holding onto the bar with hook grip. Much more flexible movement in the thumb than other tapes.
