Easy instal, lag is fine
So I installed this on my Skoda Fabia 2021, first perfectly with the 90 dec adapter, completely hidden, doesn’t obstruct the compartment below. Took me a couple of tried to connect to the Bluetooth, from there on absolutely perfect. It he lag isn’t bad at all, actually it’s faster than the build in wireless on my previous car. Made the Christmas gift to myself.
Pairs perfectly.
Extremely easy to install by pairing the adapter to your phone. CarPlay then works perfectly and without lag on the car’s multimedia touch screen. The ability for the adapter to be angled to 90 degrees is especially useful so that the adapter is not obtrusive and can be mounted flush.
Cheap way to modernise your ca
My car is only 3 years old but only has wired CarPlay, and this is the perfect solution to making that experience a lot better.
With the wireless adapter connected I’ve found CarPlay gets started and connected a lot quicker. There’s no lag on the maps and only a minor lag on button presses which is expected but not noticeable.
Plenty of cables provided to make sure you can get the adapter connected and it’s a really compact size.
If you find minor irritation with plugging your phone in each time and fancy treating your car / yourself then this is a good little upgrade.
Compact size and easy to install
Having had the device for 2 weeks I wanted to leave a short review to help others wondering about the product.
Overall I’m very happy with the device. It works well on my 2018 Kodiaq. This was a good fit to get wireless Apple CarPlay as we had the wireless charging.
Installing it and connecting to the phone took a few minutes. Fairly intuitive. I liked this was about the size of a large memory stick, so it’s not intrusive and sits well in the USB port.
I have found that when I first connect up with bluetooth for the day to the device it helps to do it through my phone. I find that when I return to the car it reconnects quickly/automatically. Like other users I have seen the lag when you skip a track. Unless you do this a lot it is not going to distract from what is otherwise a solid connection and works well with all apps.
Simple to use
The unit is compact and works well. The 90 degree connector does not fit my vehicle as the actual usb port in my koda Karoq would need to be turned 180 degrees. However there are other flexible cable connectors included which allow connection. I also disconnect the unit each time I leave the car for the day as I am conscious of possible battery drain. Works very well, with easy setup
Word well, with hardly any lag. It took about 45 seconds to setup. Plug in to the USB, pair in phone’s Bluetooth menu, then done.
I’m using this in a VW Transporter.
I rarely write reviews, though this is very well worth the effort. Great product.
I have got 2021 Toyota CHR, which features wired Apple CarPlay. I have been using wired connection for 2 years with iPhones 12 and 14, recently I noticed some problems with connection, I narrowed the cause to a wonky handset socket. I bought this item to eliminate that issue. It came quickly, well packed and worked straight from the box. Instalation took about 2 minutes, once plugged in, the car sees it as Apple CarPlay device, the pairing on your phone and done, good to go.
After using it for 3 days I can say it is good, but not flawless. I paid 60 for it.
Good points:
– it is small, not much bigger than menory stick, which was the main cause I bought this one. It also comes with 3 wired adapters/extensions, but they are very short.
– easy to install.
– works fine, most of the time.
Bad bits:
– it is laggy, when listening to the music from your phone, you need to allow 1 second lag between pressing ie the next track and actually anything happening. However, that does not affect the iPhone Sat Nav, which seems to be working fine.
– it has crashed 2 times so far in 3 days, I mean I could not adjust the volume. Taking the stick out and putting it back in helped. Also while putting the car to Reverse or Park, the reversing camera kicks in automatically, and the car switches the Apple CarPlay off, tapping on the screen brings it back on the screen.
Works perfectly
Nicely packaged with printed instructions (albeit obvious translation from another language) which were very easy to follow. Up and working in a matter of minutes – several test drives later and I can’t fault it. It is small and neat and works perfectly.
Must buy
I was having problems with my iphone disconnecting from cable especially on bumpy roads / roundabouts, this device does not have that problem. It’s small size means it stays in place. It’s great that when you are doing errands you can get back into car and your music / maps starts where you left off.
Simple and fast!
So, I was a bit sceptical about this one at first having previously tried other models, including those that provide Netflix and YouTube. But I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t even need the instructions. Plug it in, connect to it through Bluetooth and that’s it. Apple CarPlay kicks in and it’s ready to go. There’s barely any lag too. Highly recommend!
Works great out of the box
Having just purchased a Hyundai Ioniq 5, I wanted to be able to use apple car play easily, whilst wirelessly charging my phone. Got this device, setting up was very easy. Just pair the bluetooth and it’s done. Connecting the phone to the car takes about 10 seconds, which is great. Not been on any trips yet, so don’t know how it will fair in the long run. First impression is that it works great and would highly recommend this to upgrade your wired carplay to wireless.
