Took a while to open up to shape and took my dogs a few weeks to really use it but now they use it all the time.,
Even my young dog uses it prevents a lot of strain on the hip joint from early on

We had bought a new couch and when the elder of my two pugs was trying to jump on it she kept face planting the couch.
It took a few days for her to get used to it and had to run a first until she figured she could walk up it. Uses it all the time now.
To my absolute amazement, the 17.5yr old cat has deigned to use the stairs to get on and off the bed as id hoped she would. She is normally v suspicious of anything new.
