For anyone who travels and needs to print, it’s potentially very useful. It couldn’t really be smaller or lighter and is rechargeable, so you don’t even need to take a power cable with you. Bluetooth should mean you don’t need a comms cable eithe

This printer does not use ink. It uses a heat transfer technology to print on special thermal paper. The paper can become a bit expensive. But on the upside, you don’t have to refill the catridges or ink. Also you can only print black and white. It can never replace a good and versatile printer, but it does work well as a protable printer, and does basic things just fine.

    Colorwing Thermal Portable Printer –

This is a super handy portable A4 thermal printer. The printer can be connected via Bluetooth or with the included USB-C cable. To use the printer wirelessly you need to download the free Phomemo app. This app is easy to use, and works with Phomemo label printers too.
I agree with other reviewers the print quality isn’t as sharp as a regular inkjet or laser printer. Having said that the quality is more than adequate. The biggest advantage is you can easily take the printer out and about with you. The rechargeable internal battery holds a good charge.
The biggest drawback however is the thermal paper (regular printer paper can’t be used) is pretty expensive. This means it would be very costly to print out large documents on a daily basis.

This Colorwing portable printer is a compact unit that is just slightly wider than an A4 size piece of paper. It comes with a sample amount (10 sheets) of specialist paper that is required to be able to print on.

The printer paper comes with a clear indication of what side up the paper should be fed into the printer, and just needs a slight nudge by the paper for the printer to grab it and ready for printing.

The printer can be used by a computer or through a downloadable app — as it’s a portable printer I will be tend to using it with my phone so I downloaded the app from the Google Play Store, and it quickly connected to the printer via Bluetooth.

Printing documents is done through the printer app rather than printing direct from a third-party app, so you would need to save the document in the first app and then access it from the printer app. The app gives you access to the normal printer controls, like how many copies to print, print all or some pages etc — all very intuitive and easy to access.

The printer only prints in black & white, and the special paper required is thinner than I would use on my home printer, but the big advantage of this printer is that you can take it with you and print it there and then when required. The printed page comes out like a draft version of my home laser printer, but is more than adequate for when a quick hard copy of a document is required.

From the moment I unboxed the COLORWING Portable Printer, M08F, I knew it was a game-changer. Whether for personal use or professional documents, it has seamlessly integrated into my everyday life, proving itself as an outstanding device that caters to all my printing needs.

Upon initial use, I was immediately taken by its ease of operation. Straight out of the box, it was pre-charged, allowing me to get started instantly. The printer includes the versatile connectivity options of Bluetooth and USB-C, ensuring compatibility with a range of devices, which I found highly advantageous. The printer was quick and efficient at printing out my documents with impressive clarity. As for photos, it managed to deliver decent black and white prints with visible printing lines, a characteristic I’ve noticed with thermal printers in general.

One of the aspects I most appreciate about this printer is its portability. It’s lightweight, and the accompanying pouch makes transportation incredibly convenient. Despite being compact, the print size capacity is impressive, accommodating up to A4 sized thermal paper. The thermal paper might cost a bit more than standard paper, but considering the money saved on ink, I find it to be a highly cost-effective solution in the long run.

In conclusion, I am more than satisfied with the COLORWING Portable Printer, M08F. It’s an excellent investment for those who need an efficient, portable, and user-friendly printer. Whether you’re printing important documents on the go or creating physical copies of your cherished memories, this thermal printer meets the challenge with ease and efficiency. It’s a five-star product in my books.

Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! 🙂

The M08F Portable Printer is a game-changer for on-the-go printing. It’s compact, light, and works without messy ink or toners. At 187.99 (with an extra 62 off voucher) and next-day free delivery with Amazon Prime, it’s a great deal.
You can easily print from your iPhone, iPad, or Android with the Phomemo App. It’s also compatible with PCs using a USB cable. The printing quality is excellent, with crisp and clear images.
The best part is the inkless technology – No need to buy ink cartridges or ribbons. The thermal paper is not the cheapest, so that’s one of the downfalls. The other thing is that you can only print in black and grey, so if you need coloured printers, this will not be it for you.
The M08F is perfect for travelling business people, students, and professionals. It weighs just 2lb and is only 1.5 inches thick. You can easily carry it in your bag or briefcase.
In conclusion, the M08F Portable Printer is a smart investment. It’s easy to use, works with mobile devices, and offers top-quality printing without the hassle of ink. If you need a portable printer, this is the one to get.

This portable printer is very handy and helpful especially for when I need to print on the go! I like the size of the printer as it’s not too big or bulky and it’s a lot lighter than I expected. The printer itself works well and I like that it’s a thermal printer as no ink is needed meaning no ink spills or messes. The print quality is very good and it’s easy to get and use the thermal paper with this printer. It works seamlessly with my iPhone and I’ve not experienced any technical difficulties or issues with it. I can also link it to my laptop with the data cable which is helpful. It’s great that I can do everything I need to with this printer via the app on my phone and the app is easy to navigate and use. I feel this printer is very good quality because it’s strong, sturdy and durable so won’t break easily whilst handling a lot of usage. I think it’s very good value for money and I highly recommend it. It gets a huge thumbs up from me because it does exactly what I need it to do without any fuss.

I ordered this printer to compliment my existing printer, as there’s times that you just want to do a few sheets rather than bulk printing.

Comes with instructions that are easy to understand. Also comes with its own carry case, which makes this really easy to either carry around (would fit fine in your bag) or to store away- although this is so small it’ll sit nicely on your desk without cluttering.

Provides you will 10 sheets of the thermal paper. The paper advises that you need it a certain way up otherwise it won’t print (if you made a mistake you could just re-print).

I’ve since ordered some more thermal paper (around 9 for 100 sheets), which is obviously dearer, however you don’t need to buy ink so this evens out really well as ink is far dearer than the paper.

It is noisy printing but as it does it so quickly it’s not an issue at all.

Comes with its own charging cable, which doesn’t take long at all to charge. Print quality is really good- you would think you’ve used ink. This doesn’t mean I’d necessarily mass print on it, but it’s certainly a great item to have.

If you get a paper jam, you literally just press two buttons that opens the thing up and you remove the paper- certainly easier than my standard printer.

Currently priced at 250 does seem dear at first but when you look at it as an investment it truly is excellent value for money.

Overall have been really pleased with this and more than happy to recommend.

This thermal printer comes in a cardboard box with Phomemo branding on and inside you’ll find the printer, velvet storage pouch, USB-A to USB-C charging lead, USB-C to USB-A converter cable, quick start guide, and 5x sheets of thermal paper.

The printer is quite small as I was surprised by its size. It has a power button on the top and two buttons on the front side which allow you to flip up the lid. It has a USB-C port on the rear for connection to a power source or computer. The storage pouch is nice and soft and allows you to slip the printer into your bag without fear of scratching it up as it does look really nice.

I do have other Phomemo printers, and I find the app easy to use and easy to navigate around. I haven’t used the app with this printer though as I wanted to use it with a Windows 11 PC. I turned the printer on and started to look for Bluetooth devices, but my PC couldn’t see it. I plugged the USB-C cable into my PC, and it was ready to use straight away. There were no pop ups saying it was installing drivers or anything but when I went into the device manager, the printer was named correctly and was ready to use. I printed a document, and all the print screens were exactly the same as they are for my inkjet printer so there is no difference here. I offered up one of the included A4 sheets of paper and slid it into the front opening. The printer started taking it in on its own and stopped when it was in position. I clicked print and it started printing but it did make a reasonable amount of noise. It wasn’t too noisy but it’s not something you want going off at night if you have people sleeping in your house. It finished a full A4 print in about 15 seconds so was reasonably fast.

The printed text was easy to read and was just like a till receipt to give you an idea of quality. Normal size text was easy to read with no issue, but small or fine print gets a little difficult to read but you can just make it out. Overall, I’m fine with the print quality but if you print documents with a lot of small, fine print, you may find that this won’t be for you.

Overall, I love this printer. It’s portable and doesn’t need a power source to run. It can be used in Windows 11 as a standard printer without having to install drivers. It only prints in black and white though and you have to buy thermal paper to use with it which costs a little more than standard paper. You don’t have to buy ink though so the paper kind of pays for itself. A great little printer which will come in handy

I thought this printer would be useful as my normal printers ink has always dried up because i use it so rarely.
I was a bit wary about the cost of thermal paper, and it is obviously more expensive than standard A4 paper, but the amount i use it i think it is still more cost effective than replacing the ink cartridges everytime i need something printed.
the size and portability of this printer is great too.
and being able to connect via bluetooth is so easy.
I would say if you print a lot….. or need colour then a standard printer is your way to go……. but if like me you dont print very often and dont need the colour then this is a brilliant piece of kit….. especially for the travelling business person.
for my personal way of using it i would definitely recommend this

I have a few different style printers from this company, so was looking forward to using this, as I have found the others although more basic, to be of good quality.
For me having a portable printer to use whenever needed for work is great.
Great for students as can just be placed in backpack.
    Pairs easy enough with phone.
I love the thermal aspect of it, as you don’t need to replace the ink in the printer.
It’s obviously not to the same standard as an full ink computer printer but it does a good job considering its a thermal printer.
Only thing is, the paper for it is a tad expensive but apart from that it is of decent quality.

Although this is branded Colorwing I’m pretty sure it’s from the Phomemo stable. I’ve tried several Phomemo label printers and been impressed. This one is up to the same standard but has limitations as an A4 printer.

For anyone who travels and needs to print, it’s potentially very useful. It couldn’t really be smaller or lighter and is rechargeable, so you don’t even need to take a power cable with you. Bluetooth should mean you don’t need a comms cable either but I couldn’t get it to work using Bluetooth with my XPS 13. A pouch is included but I think you can buy a rigid case separately which may be worth doing.

Keep in mind that it uses thermal paper which is more expensive than plain paper (around 10p/sheet) and harder to find. A few sheets are in the box. It has a different feel to plain paper but don’t confuse it with the cheap stuff used for till rolls — it’s much nicer than that and allegedly resists fading. On the plus side, of course, the printer doesn’t need ink cartridges, so overall cost per page is probably comparable with inkjet, the big difference being that thermal means mono only and poor graphics.

If you need to print colour or graphics, you’ll probably have to lug an inkjet with you. Otherwise, for plain black text, this one from Colorwing/Phomemo makes an easy choice.

I got this to carry around with my work’s laptop, as some of our offices don’t always have a printer to link up to.

This printer, although seemingly expensive at the outset, is worthy of the price tag for a number of reasons. There’s also a drawback.

Portability is great. The size is just right to fit into a laptop bag accessory pocket. It’s lightweight too, so save lugging around a heavy printer.

The print quality is very good, however, if you are looking for laser sharp printing, then this is probably not for you. Although, the print quality passes for professional level business document printing like letters.

Paper wise, you need to purchase thermal print paper, which is seemingly more expensive, however with thermal printers, there are no ink costs. So bear this in mind. It comes with a small sample of paper to get you started.

The printer is Bluetooth compatible and wireless and you can print from mobile devices with the App installed.

The printer is rechargeable, so making it totally wireless and again, very portable.

A nice printer to carry around in your laptop bag.

I had the printer set up in under 5 minutes and printing. It came with a few sheets of thermal paper. You can connect the printer to your laptop or phone, I used my phone. I thought it might be a pit of a hassle but the app was so easy to use. I needed to print a returns label: I located the PDF on my email, saved the document to the app and then pressed print. The printer is relatively quiet and asks which settings you want in terms of paper type, etc. It’s no slower than a regular home printer but seeing as you need to feed the paper in for each page, I wouldn’t use the printer for large, multi-page documents. It’s lightweight and very easy for on the go. The only think is that the printer isn’t cheap and the thermal paper for it is quite expensive too. If you need to print off short documents on the move and have the disposable cash, it’s a good little printer but if you’re using it for studying or work and are planning on doing lots of printing- a conventional laser printer and normal printing paper would work out cheaper and more convenient.

It comes down to what you need it for. I’d recommend based on ease of use and portability but would say if you’re thinking about buying this- think about how economical it would be for your needs

The benefit to this printer is its portability. It’s small and light, able to fit in a decent sized bag / briefcase to allow for instant printing when needed.
The image quality is OK, it’s acceptable for a quick print but not good enough for a presentation.
The only issue I have is the writing on the back of the paper – it shows through on the front which is a little annoying. However, this is the paper included in the products package, so it may be different if other paper is purchased.
It was easy to connect to the pc using usb but I preferred the ease of printing from the app. I already had the app downloaded for a mini thermal printer – if detected this new one immediately.

This is a lovely compact travel printer that feels solid and of good quality.
The printer is wireless, connecting through the Phomemo phone app via Bluetooth, or connected to your PC via USB. I am using Windows 10 and it connected automatically when I powered it on. You can also charge it via the included USB C cable, so it can be used wirelessly.
It does come with a few sheets of thermal paper, along with a cloth carry bag, but a hard case would have been preferred for more protection.
As this is a thermal printer, you do not need to replace ink, and will just need the thermal paper. Using the included paper, the print quality is acceptable for documents, but you have to load the paper in perfectly or it will look unprofessional and can even tear the side of the paper.
You feed the paper into the front to get it ready for printing, but this can be a little fiddly and is sometimes not straight. I have used another thermal travel printer which is the same, so it is not exclusive to this printer, and seems to just be an annoying thing about most compact travel printers.
It is very portable and compact, making it great for travelling. Overall, a nice travel printer.

This is the A4 model of Phomemo’s thermal printers, you can also get a letter printer.

I have to say, this is an impressive black and white printer that’s super simple to set up right out the box and the quality of printed text look superb.

The basic brown box packaging it comes in made it feel as though it was cheap and inside the box you get the printer, a nice velvety drawstring bag that the printer can be stored in and a couple of USB connectors. The cable to connect to a computer, laptop or Mac is 80cms long and is a USB-C to Standard USB-A. The thermal printer takes USB-C leaving you with the old USB-A to connect to your laptop and most new laptops and macs don’t have these. There’s a short converter cable included to get back from USB-A to USB-C.

To be fair, these thermal printers are built to be used on the go so most of time I will be using my phone to print, and this was so quick and easy to set up. Download the Phomemo App and you connect to the printer using Bluetooth from within the app, that’s it. Settings are very easy to navigate, and you can print documents and images, scan documents to save and print directly from the internet. There’s also a load of built in templates, images, and clip art within the app.

A4 document printing gives very impressive results, image printer was just ok but I won’t be using this for printing photos. There’s a few sheets of thermal paper including to get going and have a play with and looking on Amazon, 200 sheets of thermal paper is around 25 from Phemomo.

You must feed each A4 paper in, there’s no multi feed and when you do feed the paper you can feel it grip ready to print.

Overall, this is a powerful and very compact printer. It’s completely ink free and very fast to print. It battery powered so ideal to thrown in a back pack so you always have a mobile printer with you wherever you are.

Thank you for reading my review, I hope you found it helpful.

A4 sized but light and portable with its own travel bag. The application works well and the printer connected to my phone without any bother. It prints rapidly and has different settings for how detailed you want the printout to be. The paper can be drawn or written on so it can be used like a regular printer. It seems well made and easy to use and didn’t take very long to fully charge. Overall it’s a useful addition to my craft room.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI received this printer at the end of February, and I wanted to use it for a week or two before leaving a review.

This is not the only Phomemo printer I own, I also have a small label printer and one of the larger printers that prints from a continuous roll.
The standard and quality of this printer is very much in line with the others that I own.
It is incredibly well-made, and portable.

Inside the box you receive the printer, the printer charger cable (USB -c) and bag to keep it in. You also receive approximately 10 pieces of the thermal printing paper in an A4 size.

I’ve taken some pictures of the printer itself on my work table, so you can see how long it is in centimetres. It could quite easily be slipped into a school bag, or rucksack.

The print quality is what you would expect from a thermal printer. It prints clearly, and very quickly. I used the app to print some samples to show what printing of words and pictures looks like.

The print from web function is incredibly handy, and allows you to print things as you see them on the Internet. It gives the option to print either the current page (what you see on your screen), or the option to print continuously (the entirety of the webpage)

The paper itself is quite thin, probably only marginally thicker than a receipt, but is sturdy enough for everyday use.
On the back of the paper, it shows you which way to place the paper when you touch the paper to the print to the inner slot, it grasps the paper and pulls it into position.

Overall, I really like this printer. It’s handy, quick to use and gives instant results.
The only potential thing I would like to see is the ability to create documents within the app.

When using my other printer, the m02 pro, it has the option to paste text or write text in a notes app.

It would be incredibly handy to allow some sort of very very basic word processing within the app. Even if it was the same as the notes feature or micro print feature available for the M02pro.
Is the Phomemo app itself is incredibly easy to use and intuitive.
When using other printers that link into the same app, it allows to print worksheets for children, colouring pages, and included graphics.

If they could link that in, it would be perfect!

Overall, I think it would be a really great addition to classrooms, offices, and most homes where you only need to print occasionally.

One of the bonuses that I actually found, was that the paper itself being thinner, took up less room and was less weightier than a traditional ream of paper.
Not having to find extra space to store a big bulky printer, or big stacks of paper Was an unforeseen bonus.

I would fully recommend this produc

This is exactly what I’ve been after for ages, but didn’t know it existed. I’m an artist who needs to print off ideas for new pieces, collages, and mood boards constantly– this little printer is a game changer. I dreaded using my old printer; there’s always a blinking stress-light to tell you it’s out of ink even though it seems you just replaced it (so expensive). It won’t even let me print black and white because it’s run out of colour ink (???!!!), and so on.

It’s true that the special thermal paper is a bit dear, but at least you can tell when it’s going to run out. Also, you’re saving money because you don’t need to replace any ink cartridges. Because it doesn’t need ink cartridges. DID I MENTION THAT IT DOESN’T NEED INK?! Take a hike, cyan!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis thermal printer has worked great. It can be used wirelessly through Bluetooth or by connecting the computer by a USB C cable, this is included. From the box the printer had charge so I could print straight away. 5 sheets of thermal paper is included to get started. I’ve printed a number of documents and photos. The documents are printed clearly and quickly. The photos were ok quality, obviously black and white as it’s a thermal printer. Some printing lines can be seen on the photo but that’s my experience with all the thermal printers I’ve used.

The printer is lightweight and portable it comes with its own pouch to store it in though the box is small so I will probably store it in that. Although the paper is more expensive I think this is a very cost effective solution, as ink is not needed

Overall a great portable printer that will print documents quickly.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis printer is great if like myself you never really do any printing at home. I have a HP printer and scanner that I rarely use and as a result the ink is always dried up when I come round to using it. It’s a lot better at printing documents than photos. You can see by the photos I’ve added that the text is far superior. That being said, the paper is pricey. Though given the sproradity of which I print, I may will save on ink. This isn’t the kind of printer you want to be printing mass documents on. Not unless you’ve got a lot of the paper that auto feeds as you may end up doing one A4 at a time.
Though if you’re like me and rarely print at home then that won’t be an issue. All in all a great printer, much easier to store and would recommend to anyone else in the same boat as me that usually does the majority of large document prints at work.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’ve been in the look out for a thermal printer for a while as I have a temperamental Canon that sometimes connects to my iPad and other times refuses to play ball completely, usually when I need it the most and invariably, it’s the cause of high blood pressure and a lot of swear words! Then there’s the eye watering cost of printer ink of course.

I opted for the M08F which came with soft pouch for transporting, USB charging cable and several sheets of Thermal paper, for testing and I have to say overall, I’m very impressed and would recommend.

    PROS
It’s lightweight, compact and portable – would easily fit in a laptop bag/backpack OR a larger handbag.
It was very straightforward to connect to my phone and iPad and super easy to use, even for the technology challenged.
It’s wireless so great for on the move or if you are somewhere that doesn’t have an electrical point.
It’ a thermal printer so you will never run out of ink at an in opportune moment.
You can print pictures, Word documents etc

    CONS
You aren’t going to get the print quality of an inkjet or laserjet printer because it’s a thermal printer. That’s NOT a reflection on the printer itself, just a generalisation that you usually don’t get as crisp an image with a thermal printer. That said, I printed off a couple of PDF docs using Brother paper and it was absolutely fine.
You have to use thermal paper, I bought a pack of Brother paper from Amazon and found it to be a little bit thicker. Just remember you can’t do back to back printing as it only prints one side.
Thermal paper is more expensive than normal paper however, factoring printer ink costs, it’s probably swings and roundabouts on running costs for both, so for me, the MO8F wins due to it’s portability, ease of use and long term saving on printer ink.
