Very well made
I am sorry I had to send it back it just that I found it to heavy for me and had trouble getting it down I am an older person my hands were not strong enough but made very well
Great umbrella
Have only had call to use this umbrella once but it withstood a bit of wind, waiting too see how it copes with the Scottish winter. Handle comfortable in hand and the umbrella fits well in my work backpack.
Good umbrella
This is the second one of these I’ve bought. The first one lasted my way longer than any other umbrella I’ve ever had. Really good in wind they do turn inside out if you don’t point them in the correct direction but they don’t break and go back usually with no issues
Repel Is a good size and quality umbrella.
It seems windproof due to the vented conopy but consider that you keep the umbrella pointing against the wind in order not to bend or fly away.
It is heavier than other umbrellas not really useful to me the auto close function. Though as construction looks sturdy enough.
I bought it in 2 colors and consider buying this item in a discount( as they often have a good ones).
Good mechanical opening and shutting
Just used it today for the first time and I like it. It has a good mechanical opening and shutting and comfortable to hold. When I closed the umbrella there were no water droplets so I could just put it back into its cover. Not used it when it’s windy as yet but will write another review when I do
Sturdy but heavy
I am a smallish older woman and find carrying this in shoulder bag or using raised overhead rather taxing. I plan to give to my son-he is much stronger! It seems really well made and for the right user, the perfect product. The colour is a rich red- so your partner can find you in a crowd!
Writing this review after 3 years of use!
I bought this umbrella in May 2021 and not once has the wind turned it upside down. Im amazed by the quality, durability and resilience. I’ve been living in Northern Scotland for a couple of months where there’s extreme weather warnings on a monthly basis, and this umbrella has managed to cope well with the strong Scottish winds. If this umbrella ever breaks I will buy the same again without hesitation as it has served me very well.
Great Umbrella and Customer Service
I ordered this umbrella 2 years ago and it held up very well. I saw that there is a lifetime warranty on the umbrella and contacted customer service for a replacement as mine started to rust and had bent wires. They were very helpful and offered to replace the umbrella and sent a new one! Overall great product and I would recommend it to others.
Good in light winds
Feels sturdy in a average wind.
Not sure about strong winds and it has a little play in the handle and shaft.
Small enough to fit in the drinks part of my rucksack.
30,is expensive, however so far so good
Useful and very sturdy!
This windproof travel umbrella is fantastic! Compact, lightweight, and incredibly strong, it withstands wind effortlessly. The automatic open and close feature is super convenient. Perfectly portable, it fits easily into any bag. Reliable and durable, it’s the best umbrella for travel. Highly recommend.
Quality compact umbrella
Sturdy and durable, so far. Pleased with purchasing though rather expensive. The handle is rather small but being compact it’s what you would expect however if you have large hands this may not be for you.
Very strong. Good in high winds
Excellent umbrella for windy conditions.
Sturdy and easy to put up.
Compact when down
The carrying case could be a little bigger .
I needed a couple of attempts to get it back in the case but it’s a minor problem.
Well worth the money.
Well built umbrella
My wife is impressed by this product.
Usually buys cheap versions as they don’t last long.
Folds up fits into bag, robustly made.
Been in windy conditions, did not go inside out.
Impressed by produc
Finally a decent umbrella!
Finally I have a reasonably priced umbrella that stands up to heavy wind and rain where the majority of other umbrellas don’t and you just end up buying new ones all the time.
Best of the bunch
I have used many brands of umbrellas over the years
Repel umbrellas come out tops both in terms of build quality and durability
I bought two umbrellas in 2020 and they are are still functional
Lasted 18 months
I try to review products at end of life, as most reviews occur earlier. This umbrella was strong in wind but after about 18 months it started to leak and then one of the arms snapped.
Good produc
Works well, and its small and compact so easy to take with you when travelling. Its a balance of small and compact and therefore easy to transport against not being as wide when its heavy rain to cover most of your body.
Good umbrella but difficult to close
Overall this is a good, sturdy umbrella. Yet to test it in windy weather. But heavy and solid build. Very easy to open. The only thing is that I really struggle with closing it and I’m ways fidgeting and worrying that I’m pushing too hard/incorrectly and it would break.
Fantastic customer service
This is a sturdy rather than lightweight umbrella, and it performed very well for three years, but then it developed a fault. Although it came with a lifetime guarantee my expectations were low, but I contacted the seller with purchase details and they replaced it with a brand new one which arrived within a week. Great service, and they mean what they say about the guarantee!
Good Umbrella - Sturdy in Winds
Good umbrella! Very easy to use with one hand. I find it very compact and light, you can open it and close it from a button and it’s very convenient to fit in a bag or briefcase.
It dries out pretty quick and honestly, it’s pretty sturdy in strong winds
Purchased this umbrella a few months ago and it’s the best decision I made. Extremely durable looks and feels quality while being compact and comfortable to hold. I had to use the warranty as one of the metal rods broke, but to no fault of the umbrella. It broke while being used during storm debbi (in Manchester) which saw winds for up to 65mph. The bonus it kept me safe and secure for the whole week and let out on the last day. The customer service is one to none offering me a replacement and taking all my inquiries into account in a timely manner. Considering this is a small business I’m very impressed by the quality of products and consumer service they offer. Will recommending to friends.
Sturdy long lasting umbrella
I first purchased my umbrella back in 2023 based on reviews. I wanted a reliable umbrella and this seemed to be what I was looking for. I was not disappointed! It has been a great brolly. It was only recently that a big gust of wind blew it inside out which was a first. Unfortunately it did damage my brolly. I contacted customer services who were prompt and very helpful. I am pleased to say that I am now the proud owner of a free replacement umbrella. Thank you! I would highly recommend.
Nice compact umbrella
I have used the umbrella in windy conditions and just wet conditions and it holds up well.
If it’s really heavy rain your legs and feet will still get wet as I found out whilst using it in the first week, but in light to moderate rain it does work well.
It’s sturdy in the wind and when you get a gust it will fold slightly if pointed towards the wind, I have not had it invert on me as I always try to point it against the wind.
Overall a good compact umbrella perfect for in the car or travelling by bus train etc.
Sunshine & Rai
Have bought this as a present so it hasn’t been tested in either the rain or wind yet. It is however a smashing umbrella- good size, great colour, well made and looks like it’s gonna do it’s job well. Have given 4 stars opposed to 5 because it’s a little heavier and longer ( when down) than I was originally looking for.
Still think I’m gonna order myself one though- that good.
The absolute best umbrella you'll ever ge
These are the best umbrellas you’ll ever get and it’s really nice to see that a company would care about building such great products in a line that usually is littered with single use garbage.
I bought one of these when I was tired of “single use” umbrellas. It broke, I tried their warranty, they sent me a new one no questions asked. This umbrella has then followed me for years of travel in really trying weather situations. Never let me down once.
It was so good that I was basically keeping it for myself until I decided to just get a bunch of these (got 4 now) after more “single use” umbrellas my family got died.
You won’t look back. Umbrellas do matter, and these aren’t more expensive, they are actually cheaper. Simply because you won’t replace it every 6 months on the first cloud fart. And it’ll be working for you when you need it.
I purchased this umbrella to store in the bottom of my daughter’s pram. I was sick of carting around a big umbrella that was strong but wouldn’t fit in the storage compartment, and any compact umbrellas purchased previously have been really flimsy. I now use it for the pram and in my bag; it fits compactly in both.
This umbrella definitely fit the bill. It’s compact and strong. It hasn’t turned inside out in bad weather for me to this date, and I live in a very wet and windy part of the UK. It’s easy to put up at the press of a button, though slightly fiddlier to put down. It has a nice aesthetic, I love the yellow, and it comes with a cover, but to be honest, it’s so fiddly to put on, I rarely do. It’s a decide size; it will comfortably fit two underneath, which is what I expected for a compact umbrella. All in all it performs its job.
I’ve been slightly disappointed to discover some rust forming on the underside of the umbrella, around the metal, but fortunately it hasn’t interfered with its functioning.
I recently purchased the Repel Umbrella Windproof Travel Umbrella, and I’m thoroughly impressed with its performance. Here’s why I think it’s a fantastic choice:
1. **Windproof Excellence**: This umbrella lives up to its windproof claim. I’ve used it on windy days when other umbrellas turned inside out or were simply unusable. The reinforced frame and innovative design keep it sturdy and intact in strong gusts.
2. **Compact and Portable**: One of the standout features is its compactness. It’s the perfect size for travel or daily use. The folding mechanism is smooth, and it easily fits into bags, backpacks, or even a coat pocket when not in use.
3. **Automatic Open and Close**: The automatic open and close feature is incredibly convenient. With just a press of a button, it springs open, and when you’re done, another press collapses it effortlessly. No more struggling with a manual umbrella in the rain.
4. **Quality Materials**: The umbrella is well-made with high-quality materials. The canopy is water-resistant, keeping me dry even during heavy rain. The handle feels comfortable to hold, and the overall construction gives a sense of durability.
5. **Attractive Design**: It’s not just about function; this umbrella also has a sleek and modern design. It’s available in various colours, allowing you to choose one that suits your style.
6. **Value for Money**: Given its impressive features and performance, the Repel Umbrella is an excellent value for the price. It’s a quality investment that will last.
In summary, the Repel Umbrella Windproof Travel Umbrella is a top-notch choice for anyone in need of a reliable and compact umbrella. It effortlessly combines strength, portability, and convenience, making it a must-have for staying dry and comfortable in various weather conditions. I highly recommend it!”
I recently purchased the Repel vibrant coloured, compact, light and windproof umbrella, and I must say it has become my go-to companion for unpredictable weather conditions. Here’s why I am impressed with this umbrella:
Eye-Catching Vibrant colour:
The first thing that caught my attention was the vibrant colour of this umbrella. Making it a stylish accessory that stands out in a crowd. It’s refreshing to have an umbrella that not only offers functionality but also adds a touch of personality to rainy days.
Sturdy, strong and Windproof:
This umbrella lives up to its windproof claim. The reinforced frame and flexible ribs are designed to withstand strong gusts of wind, ensuring that the umbrella stays intact and doesn’t flip inside out during storms. I’ve tested it on blustery days, and it has proven its durability and resilience time and time again.
Generous Canopy Size:
The size of the canopy is generous, even though it’s compact and portable, providing ample coverage to shield me from the rain. Whether I’m walking down the street or waiting at a bus stop, this umbrella effectively keeps me dry. The canopy’s diameter is also wide enough to accommodate both myself and my belongings, offering an extra layer of protection.
Convenient Automatic Open and Close:
The automatic open and close feature of this umbrella is a game-changer. With just the press of a button, the umbrella effortlessly springs open or folds down, making it quick and convenient to use. It’s especially handy when entering or exiting a building during sudden rain showers.
Compact and Portable:
Despite its large canopy, this umbrella folds down to a compact size when not in use. It comes with a matching sleeve or carrying case, making it easy to store in my bag or backpack. Its lightweight construction ensures that it doesn’t weigh me down, allowing me to carry it around without hassle.
Overall, the Repel umbrella is vibrant, compact, automatic, portable, light, strong and windproof and is an excellent investment for anyone seeking a reliable and stylish umbrella. Its eye-catching colour, sturdy construction, generous canopy, and convenient features make it a standout choice. Whether you need protection from rain or wind, this umbrella has got you covered. I highly recommend it for its durability, functionality, and vibrant aesthetics.
Owning a quality umbrella is extremely important for someone being on the move daily in London. Since I intend to carry my umbrella in my backpack every single day, there are a couple of specific characteristics that I’m looking for before I purchase one, but only a handful of companies have managed to get them right. So here is what I have found so far:
Pros:
– Very sturdy built. I have tested it in the most extreme windy situations at least in the city and it is holding up very well.
– Double canopy design. This is your best friend if you want to carry an umbrella through wind.
– Quick drying fabric. Maybe it is not as impressive as umbrellas with waterproof coating, but I have found these to wear out after a couple of months. The fabric used from Repel is doing a very good job and the effects will last forever.
– Very easy to carry around. It fits my bag’s side pocket with ease and is not as long or heavy as some other brands of similar umbrellas.
– Comes with a cover and a strip on the handle. Both extremely useful features and very underrated.
– Pricing is very reasonable (bought at 16.95). It is more expensive than those simple umbrellas that break on the first use, but still cheap enough to not feel precious, if you forget it somewhere or lose it.
– The button has an off mechanism as well. It does not close the umbrella all the way, but it is extremely useful for those moments that you jump in the bus or in a building straight from pouring rain.
Cons:
– Due to the choice of materials for the handle and the canopy fabric it certainly feels less premium than Balios umbrellas.
– Opening mechanism does not push all the way up, most of the times I have to manually check if it did.
If you get it for under 20, it is a great umbrella for what it offers. In terms of function and quality I would say it is the best in this category, so it is an easy recommendation and 5 stars from me.
I was in 2 minds if this Umbrella really would be windproof. Well I tried it out today and here is my honest review. I live in a windy coastal town of Ilfracombe, Devon and we certainly get our fair share of wind and rain here. Going for my daily stroll around the local park it started to drizzle so I opened the Umbrella with a touch of a button and was impressed at the speed of erection. The overall size is good but I’d score the handle comfort just 7/10 as I found the weight a little on the heavy side. Whilst standing at the end of the park pond admiring the ducks…the wind had started building up and the brollie took a little shaking but was still good and sturdy. All was well UNTIL…… a gust of wind and I felt the brollie lift up a few inches and I had to hold on firmly. Concerned I would let go as the Umbrella slightly lifted again I grabbed the hold of handle with my other hand as tight as possible and as soon as I did, my whole body lifted off the ground and began slowly raising into the air. Scared I was going to fall I gripped the handle tighter and put on a brave smile as my feet past just inches away from the heads of shocked children who stopped feeding the ducks as they gasped and stared up at me. I was at least 20 ft in the air by now and being scared of heights I closed my eyes as the brollie lifted me over the duck pond and even higher into the air. The brollie felt sturdy and kept me dry from the light showers which i score 9/10 but when a gust of wind came it made a sudden voilent judder, I opened my eyes and saw that I was heading in the direction of the Harbour. I was flying over the rooftops of the harbour shops and got caught a stunning birdeye view of the little chapel on a hill and the Verity Statue. The rain had stopped now and people below where looking up and pointing at me and a seagull flew close, I forgot my fears and let go of the handle with one hand as i reached out to stroke it and missed. Said gull wasnt interested in getting affection from me, he had already made a fast decend to a bunch of unaware holiday makers and the carnage that followed in the next few seconds was shocking. Child screaming, mother shaking her fist, chips sprawled over the floor and the dad yelling bad language as he chased seagull who was now making his way out to sea with his mouthful of chips. That’s when I saw it… the Bristol Channel. Comming to my senses and remembering I’m flying and was heading out to sea I started to panic and began kicking my legs in hope that I would lower. Then…. I was in total shock…. to my left, a short distant away from me came floating down was a kind looking gentleman with grey hair and halfmoon galsses on his nose and a newpaper tucked under one arm. He was also holding silmiar a looking umbrella
He appeared very smartly dressed with a calm but slighty cocky expression as he held onto his handle with just one hand. He smiled at me on his way down and pointed to his own Unbrella handle and amongst the sound of me heavily panting with fear, I heard him faintly say “press the button 3 times” and he then landed ever so gently onto the pier and folded his brollie and walked into the pier cafe. Clicking 3 times i felt myself gently decend towards Veritys (statue) and my feet landed gently on her head and relieved I did not go out to sea. I heard the sound of sirens approaching whilst standing on the statues head looking around for a way to climb down. Thank goodness for our local fire crew who in no time set up there ladder and i was safely brought down. The fire officer rolled his eyes when he saw my new umbrella and said it was the 3rd rescue this week and that the umbrella should come with a warning and instructions. I agreed and thanked everyone and began to walk home. The heavens opened and it was absolutely pooring down with rain… but i was happy to get wet this time… no way was i using the brollie again until i contacted the suppilier and requested instructions. Still waiting to hear back. Overall happy with purchase.
