They do have a margin of error, ( This is in the description)but still give you a mostly accurate reading of the humidity levels in your home. They come with stickers so easy to fix around the home.
Brought to fit in my toolbox at work so can keep eye on temperture due to being very cold lately and found it very small and compact witha easily to read display fits perfectly and takes no room at all great little device just what i needed
My plants have been suffering
And so have I from incredibly freezing Winters and a drafty apartment.
I have an electric heater and I’m worried about bills
This has been helpful! I turn off my electric heater when it gets to a certain temperature.
Also when humidity is low (because of heating), I use a diffuser to help my plants.
Also I purchased this in December. It is now Feburary and it doesnt need any battery changes.
For me, it was useful
Sits on my desk – lets me know when I’m being a sissy, e.g. if I’m thinking of turning on the heating when it’s not really all that cold!
I checked both thermometers against an industrial electronic thermometer and they were well within the declared accuracy. I think its best to mount them on a vertical surface as illustrated. Its possible that if you stand them on a flat surface they may be a bit slow to respond as air needs to circulate through the top and bottom slots.
Have them all over the house and find them useful for the temp! One fell on the floor and the magnet in it fell out so that’s a little frustrating as Everytime you try to put it back it sticks to the battery, but nothing a bit of super glue can’t fix!
Bought the pack of four. Three out of four thermometers work but one arrived dead. The three that do function seem to be working well and giving clear temperature readings. Haven’t used the magnet but it seems to be strong.
When the thermometers arrived, I thought they only packaged 1 as the box was so small. Each thermometer is just over an inch squared. They are great thermometers and clearly show the temperature. I ordered 4 for work as our heating is rubbish. All 4 showed a very slight variation in temp by 0.1 degrees.
The magnet is not very strong and easily slips.
My main concern though is they were already powered on so not sure how long they will last until the battery dies
Updated: Regarding LL indicator, not flat battery. Bought a pack of two, one had blank sceen until I managed to get it’s battery aligned properly. Both compared favourably with a calibrated digital thermometer/hygometer. I thought the battery in one had gone flat after two weeks in but the LL indicator for RH was probably due to the humidity in a filament storage box had dropped below 10%, specified working minimum is 10% RH. As other reviewers have pointed out there is not an insulated strip to pull out so the battery is powering the device long before you receive it. How long will the battery last? I will update this review accordingly. I have just bought a second 2 pack, and again one arrived blank and needed better alignment of the battery for it to work. I will check their readings shortly, to be fair at this price do not expect laboratory grade devices.
It took 4 weeks to get my central heating fixed by engineer. Without any heating I had to use three oil-filed radiators keeping me warm. In order to know when I had to turn radiators on and off I was manually monitoring temperature. The added bonus of monitoring the humidity of water in the air was paramount as I was drying out the water damage. They were extremely useful!
My order was delivered fast and well packaged. The product was very easy to install and within 2-3 minutes I had them mounted on the walls at eye height for easy monitoring. Each device had a peel-off sticky fixer pad so I could stick one to my cupboard front in my home office and one on the wall in the home hallway.
The next few weeks I had no problems monitoring both temperature and moisture in the air from these small and easy to read thermometers.
After telling my friends and family about these devices my mum ordered a set for her home. I ordered another set of 2 myself. I obviously would happily recommend these thermometers.
10 months later in October 2023 the two thermometers still remain where they were originally placed and I use them daily.
The unit its self is very small and discrete, although small, its size is ample enough for a clear and visible display. It has a nice ” face display ” which is either smiling when humidity levels are good (below 70%) or a sad face when levels are higher than acceptable (70% or more).
The sensor comes with a self adhesive patch so it is easily applied to a wall or surface of your choosing. The sticky pad leaves no residue when removed so no need to worry about future troublesome marks on the wall.
Both the temperature and humidity display are very accurate. I’ve compared the temperature against my room thermostat and the humidity level against a dehumidifier. All of which were in alignment.
All in all a very pleasing purchase for the modest price paid (less than 5 at time of purchase). As such I am happy to recommend
I ordered and paid for 6 Hygrometers but only received 5. There was space in the packaging for one extra but it just wasn’t there.
Edit: I was quickly refunded the full amount for not receiving the correct number of hygrometers. The hygrometers I did get originally have continued to work well. They act as good calibration for other hygrometers (e.g. the ones that are integrated into dehumidifiers).
Also – the temperature reads 3 degrees more that the temperature shown by my home heating system. So I am not sure how accurate they are.
The hygrometer is quite helpful. My rooms were quite dry at 29% when they arrived.
The magnet is just powerful enough. Any movement or jerks would cause the unit to fall.
This is however a good product for the price.
