The shape gauge is very easy to use and was perfect for cutting tiles around a wash basin. I did not use the lock feature as it was not necessary but I’m sure it would have worked had it been required. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the product.

Used this when laying a laminate floor to copy the door frame profile. It proved to be a great purchase saving lots of time. The ability to lock the setting was seen as a great feature. Suggest that when you copy the profile you use a narrow pencil and not a carpenters pencil. This provides a much more accurate copy which results in a much better fit of the finished piece.

Had several awkward profile shapes to be cut and this item proved to be the total answer to my tasks. Very happy with the product and most probably will buy another one since it is handy to have two when one is already set to a particular profile whilst you might wish to advance onto another different profile whilst at some time being required to go back to the previous one.

I should have got one of these before. I needed to cut out a piece of wood to fit around very lumpy stone & plaster, and my usual paper and pencil method wasn’t cutting it. This really made it easy. The contour gauge is well made and easy to use – the sliding blades are pretty thin so I could get a good line, and the lock worked well.

Had to fit some laminate flooring and knew i was going to have to work around some obstacle’s. In the past i would have made up templates which can add hours to the job. Looking for a modern alternative i stumbled across this type of shape gauge. There are many on offer at amazon. I chose this one as it had a clamp to maintain the shape and also allowed some control over the “finger” tightness. it was also deeper than others making it more useful for profiles around door frames etc. It was a little more expensive than others but the features and size made it worth the little extra cost. Recommended, i have no doubt i will use it a lot in the future.

Really well made and useful device, I already have a different version of these in my tool bag but I bought this one as it has a locking mechanism. The tool is made from good quality plastic and is hard-wearing and durable. It’s easy to use, you simply push it against a shape to get it’s outline so you can cut you item accordingly. The lock holds the shape in place and is a winning feature for this product as with others you tend to accidentally move the shape. The kit also includes a pencil and Allen key should you require it. This tool is an essential for any DIYer and has tons of uses. Really great product that’s easy to use and saves a lot of time.
