    It works.
I’m still not sure if the images are HD quality as I did a screenshot of a passer-by to zoom in on the face, but maybe only just identify the person. I can record travelling to and from work, so long enough for me (2,5hrs).

    Good safety camera
This is easy to use and to connect to the app – it’s a great feature having both front and rear facing cameras. The picture quality for both photo and video is excellent – more than good enough to capture any incidents you may need to. The footage can be a little shaky due to bike and head movt but that is to be expected. For the price you can’t go wrong really

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThere is one problem: the microphone is awful!
Great pics which is why I gave it 5 stars, so if you are looking at number plates then no problem. But I had a dog run in front of me and got into a shouting match with the owner 8 foot away and the microphone only picked up my voice. Be aware of this issue before buying. But as a front and rear camera it is great.

The camera is not heavy and you will not notice it on your cycling helmet, I don’t know why one review says it is heavy as that is not true at all!

    Great product and customer service
Best camera I have every had for a bicycle helmet. There was a problem with the micro usb connection. Got in touch with the supplier who asked me to send the camera to them. A replacement camera was received by me within a few days. Great customer service.

Peace of mind on the road
I am a tramper trucker & cycle 23 miles to work on a Raleigh pro cargo bike. Although getting hit by a passing vehicle is a medium to high risk I have peace of mind that this camera with its two way lenses will show what happened. An essential piece of kit that along the the Viidure app enables me to see what’s going on behind me as well as front as opposed to craning my neck at awkward angles.
    Very satisfactory.

So far so good. Only had the camera for a couple of weeks but so far I’m very happy. There is a lot of wind disturbance when moving quick but I’m personally not too worried about that. I have attached a video from the rear view is because I’d angled it badly, still learning. LOVE the fact it records front and back, and a good clear picture. Fits well to my riding hat. I agree with another review that it pulls your hat slightly down with the weight, but now i just rock a riding hat with a jaunty angle I felt a bit silly at first but i like the fact that it’s noticeable as, in the main, vehicles seem to pass safer. Fitting it to my hat was initially frustrating but I hadn’t put all the right pieces together. I’m still stuck on videos that last 3 minutes but I quite like that as it saves me searching a whole 2 hrs for the fun bits. When you edit the videos, you only seem to get a 30 second block. I’ve emailed the company and waiting for a reply. So far I’m very glad i got this camera

    very good quality
Quality is good enough to get number plates off (I’m riding a bicycle). Only had issues when it was raining and we had to guess one of the letter of the number plate, we could see it was one of three possible letters.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally good camera
It’s a really good camera apart from two things, one being the battery life and the other the wind noise.
I use the road cam app on my android which allows me to download videos and change the settings. The share and edit features are rubbish, I use a different app to edit them once I download them to my phone.
I’ve ridden in torrential rain a lot with this and never had any issues with the camera or the button attached to the handlebars.
It’s mounted on my helmet and like my visor, I have to clean the dead bugs off every now and then, a quick wipe with a screen wipe does the trick. I have a Cafe racer style windscreen that directs a lot of bugs towards my visor and the camera lens, so you may not have the same issue with a different windscreen.
I also bought the battery pack and waterproof USB cover, the batter pack is fine, I lost the waterproof USB cover the first day I used it.

    Great camera
Works very well, the app is a bit glitchy but remove the SD card and put into a computer if you want to review footage. The only negative is the battery life for me, I just need to remember to charge it more often.

    Neat design and solid build
The camera is supplied with a host of accessories to enable connection to cycle, motorcycle and riding helmets. The camera itself is beautifully designed and has easy to access ports and buttons. The wrist strap accessory has easy access buttons to allow the protection of a recorded clip of an emergency situation occurred, as well as a button to save a photo. It syncs with an app for your phone from which you can control lots of functions including SD card formatting. It also provides a live view so you can see what is being recorded front and rear. The website has numerous support videos showing everything from unboxing to operating. I’m really pleased with this camera.

    Wish I had soone
I like that it is obvious that I have the camera on my helmet. There is a notable difference in vehicles passing me. In the event of an accident to have both a rear and front view is perfect evidence. Quality of footage is more than adequate and very easy to download if needed. I also have the remote to hand on my handlebars. I’ve yet to link to my phone and use the phone as a rear view camera but that is only because it always seems to be raining lately. Deffo worth a purchase for peace of mind.

Easy to use with clear images front & rear.
Camera proved fairly easy to fit (to a riding hat) and is easy to use. Clear pictures from both front and rear cameras, not quite up to gopro quality but excellent for the price. Bit of a faff trying to set up the mobile app for downloading and editing (Android) but all now working OK. You need to be aware that the camera will turn itself off if no movement detected for 3 mins.

Such a great idea to be able to record front and rear views at all times – especially with the standard of driving getting worse and worse as time goes on. On the first day I used it I was almost involved in an accident due to a careless driver and the footage was invaluable when reporting to the police – the front and rear view, clear image quality and stable video caught everything that happened in the incident. Very impressed. Wouldn’t consider riding without this now.

    Easy to use, not fiddly
V easy to use, just switch on and go, seems reliable. Easy enough to connect the phone to the WiFi and check footage. Front and rear works fine. Positively surprised – I was expecting it to be more laborious.
I struggled to read number plates at night but not going to knock off a star for this. You could at least see what was going on.
Sound is very poor when moving; perhaps they should offer a fluffy mike cover or something. It’s just about usable when stationary and not windy.
I would like a slightly less bulky version, I look a bit like a dalek or teletubby with it on the side of my helmet, but it’s fine. Easy enough to detach when parking (I lock the helmet to the bike). Charging works fine.
Haven’t tested it in anger, or really stretched the battery life yet. Wish I’d had it 10y ago when I commuted by bike and was always getting into scrapes. I think just wearing it has a slight deterrent effect, and maybe a calming effect on the rider too 😉

I’d been debating a recording device for a while due to having started riding again for health and fun. And having had issues with both a car and pedestrians (on a shared pathway), I dived headlong into looking in to sports cameras for any future incidents that may arise.

It took a few days to decide on what I was looking for in a camera (front and rear recording cameras) and there werent many to choose from.

I did have some reservations about ordering this product at first, read a few reviews on cycling and motorbike sites and decided to take the leap in ordering this camera.

It comes in a nice box with the camera, which is solidly made three helmet fittings (motorbike, horse and bike), but no proper instructions, other than a QR card which will direct you to the Techalogic D-1 page on their website.

From the website, it explains (step by step walkthrough and videos) how to connect your camera with your mobile phone for the purpose of connecting to wi-fi. For it to connect and work however, you do need to have a micro-sd installed, otherwise it won’t, well, work…

The most annoying bit was actually getting the camera connected to my mobile phone and wi-fi. It took some time to work it out, even with the help of the walkthrough and the videos. Go with the VIIDURE app for recording purposes. Before freaking out though with this and deciding to send it back, please be patient as it does connect (I found turning my VPN off whilst connecting to my wi-fi helped), and once its set-up, going forward its a piece of piss on connecting easily my phone and the app anytime I need to retrieve the videos.

Thd quality of the recordings are great and detail is topnotch. It can clearly make out number plates when reviewing any recordings, and it does pick up any voices on the mic if you’re not pelting it. Alas though, once you’re going at a fair pace, it is a constant noise of wind in to the mic. (Check the attached video for both wind noise and me tinging my bell and thanking the dog walker at about 40 seconds in, even though i nearly get taken out by his dog 3 seconds later).

It does have two additional recording options if you wish to change the default setting. As I’ve left it as is, I’m sure the recordings are also great on the options, but can’t guarantee it. Also one of the options is front recording only.

I highly recommend getting a camera for cycling as people (drivers/pedestrians) will be aware of the camera attached to your helmet, thus giving you some clout if you’re abused or buzzed by over-enthusiastic car drivers. You cannot go wrong with the Techalogic D-1 dual camera.

It is a bit pricey at just under 200, but for peace of mind, it’s well worth it.

Edit: having used this a few times, battery length is longer than advised. Can confirm on todays ride (20.09.2022), I got to 3 hours and 8 minutes with juice still in the battery.

Camera, films front and back at the same time. ‘Easyish’ to set up for a person who was once nicked named the Technology Dimwit. I don’t notice it’s there, no wind drag at all. It can be linked to your phone on a free app, that I have clipped in on my quad lock, so you can see what you are filming i.e. camera at right angle etc. On fast roads I can have phone upright it then covers my speedo, don’t want to be hung by my own video.
Well impressed with it, also Britsh company with ‘Honest to God’ UK phone support. Quality camera, you need to buy a memory card.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMakes my cycling feel a bit safer on the roads
I really like this camera- its discrete. and unique in that it records video behand and in front of you at the same time

The camera captures as good a quality I suppose one can expect from a cycle camera, given that I have it mounted on the handle bars of my bike. Either the front or rear camera will capture a number plate, if that’s what you want and your using it for a cycle camera to record any traffic issues. Because I mount it on the handle bars, sometimes the point of capture of a number plate (using the video) can be blurred, because of the bouncing of the bike, but I imagine if your quick with the wrist attachment that comes with the camera and has a button that to take stills it will do the job. Its probably better mounted on the helmet. I haven’t tried this yet

I would defiantly mount the wrist button on the handle bars for safety reasons.

I haven’t used the mounts that come with the camera I have bought other mounts for helmet and bars.

The one drawback is the recording time, about 1.5 hours. However attached to a power pack, it will run as long as the power pack lasts. The videos are 3 mins long so you see a folder on the computer when you plug it in via a usb socket and switch it on full of 3 min vids. If your SD cards runs out of space it starts to overwrite the first videos on the card. The wrist attachment has a second button that allows you to protect a presumably currently running 3 min video. I personally haven’t used this.

You can download a phone app, but its a generic one. I find it works fine.

Golden Review Award: 49 From Our UsersWish I'd bought one sooner!
I had contemplated at times buying a camera to use whilst cycling, but had never taken the plunge. The main reason being that the majority of bike cameras were of the type built into lights, which were no good to me as I do a lot of off-road cycling and the lights I have are far better (brighter) than any of the light/camera offerings.
This left helmet cams which I liked the idea of as they recorded whatever you were looking at, rather than where the bike was facing. I had seen people with a GoPro on their helmets which just looked very unwieldy.
After a particular incident, and near miss, with an aggressive driver I decided a camera was a top priority so started looking in earnest.
I soon came across the Techalogic DC-1 and what was immediately appealing was that it recorded both front and rear in the same unit. No other camera I could see did this, you needed separate front and rear cameras.
My only reservation was that it was a helmet cam, and I didn’t want to look like a Teletubbie once the camera was mounted!
I took the plunge and ordered it. Once it arrived I familiarised myself with it and it became immediately apparent that they had really thought all the details through – such as the simple way it turns on and off (giving a vibrating feedback so you know it’s on and recording) and all the mounting options. Also, details such as having removable screw-on lens covers so that if, for example, a stone gets kicked up and hits the front or rear of the camera it’s not the actual lens that is damaged. You buy a spare screw on lens cover easily and cheaply (compared to a damaged lens!).
I tested it with the app they recommend (Viidure) and it worked flawlessly, connected easily to the camera and allowing viewing and downloading of the files to my phone.
I initially mounted it using the strap option to the side of my helmet, but felt that the weight imbalance would probably drive me nuts on a ride, so attached it to the top of my helmet. Apart from the concern that I now looked like a Teletubbie!, when I sat on my bike in a riding position (head slightly tilting forward) there was a weight imbalance where I could feel the camera pulling the helmet forward.
I then realised I was able to attach it still on the top of the helmet but at the back. This solved any weight imbalance and after a quick ride down the cul-de-sac I hardly knew it was even there – plus it had also help resolve the Teletubbie look!
Time for a test run! I cycled up to the local shops and back again and reviewed the footage back home. I could make out the number plates nice and clearly of any cars that came the opposite direction or passed by me. The great thing about the dual front/rear capture is that you get two opportunities to catch the number plate of a vehicle!
Over the course of the next few days I went on a bike ride each day – camera fitted. I chose to do more road based routes to give the camera a good real world test – seeing how well it recorded number plates and drivers too.
The quality of the recording is superb. Colours are great and, after some experimenting, I found that the 1920×1280 30fps was my preferred option over the 1280×720 60fps. I thought the 60fps might have caught plates better, even at lower resolution, but found the higher resolution gave the best result.
The camera came into its own on two of these rides where I encountered three separate incidents – two within 10 minutes of each other on the same ride!
These were uploaded to my Police force’s anti-social driving web site with the conclusion that two of them were sent advisory letters. I doubt this would have happened without the footage.
For one of the incidents in particular, if it hadn’t been for the rear capture it wouldn’t have captured the vast majority of the incident. It is such a crucial feature to have this dual recording.
Whilst I was getting to grips with the camera I had need to contact Techalogic Technical Support on a few occasions to clarify some details and check on something regarding the firmware. Each time I spoke with David who was superb, answering all my questions and for one question he said he needed to check with someone else and would get back to me. As promised he called back the following day – as I was on a bike ride ironically! 🙂
The product is fantastic and backed up by great Customer Support. I wanted to buy a couple of additional accessories and this was dealt with promptly and I received them the next day.
I’m extremely happy with my purchase. The camera works superbly and it just gives that added assurance that you know you are capturing front and rear as you are cycling along.
As well as the obvious use for capturing any incidents, it’s also great to play back footage from a ride and see the highlights again – saving any particular bits for posterity.

I purchased this camera after seeing a lot of hype about it on a Facebook page for horse riders. As I ride a lot on the roads I though I would invest in a better camera. The biggest seller was having a rear facing camera also. When I received the camera it was easy to set up and use. There was a slight issue with the USB cover coming off but when I spoke to the company it was speedily fixed. I use it every time I ride now and its also great for capturing great rides. Its lightweight and very secure on helmet. The only thing I would say is that it does take a long time to charge but I won’t hold that against it. Highly recommend as the quality is better than some higher priced cameras

    Easy to use
I have had several different cameras before, one front, one rear and several front only ones. Each had annoying issues such as having to turn them on, then wait before pressing the record button.
However this one is so simple to use, press a single button and you are ready to on immediately. It’s WiFi connection to your phone is fast and flawless. The wrist remote is very useful if you are involved in an incident, you can remotely get a photo or protect the current video frame. The fixings supplied are good quality, in short I don’t have any criticism of this camera. Excellent value for money and a uk phone number if you need any help.

I’ve had this Dash Cam now for several months which has been invaluable not only to view front images, but also to be able to see what’s been going on behind me as there have been times when I’ve had to brake suddenly and then you can see how close other vehicles have come up to me however in the video that I’ve uploaded you can see how a dangerous driver nearly took my life and this has been evidence from looking at their dash cam video, my only issue with this camera is that the battery life isn’t very long and when it’s raining the front camera is often blurry/misty however very good camera recommend it for anybody specially in gathering evidence.

    Got me covered
I have fitted this camera to the side of my cycle helmet so as to record the front and rear views when cycling to and fro from work. The quality of the recordings is top notch play back using the built in wifi is brilliant and so far the battery has lasted four days doing two 15 minute rides to and back from work and a trip or two to the shops which lasted about 10 minutes before having to recharge the batteries. Yes it is a lot of money for a camera but it is worth every penny as now nearly all cars give me a wider berth on my push bike which equals a safer journey. I would mention there are loads of holders with this camera that it can be fitted practically any where or on any surface you wished to.

    Great looking camera
I only had it for a few days because my old camera resuscitated all of a sudden and I returned this one. It is a solid and well built product, very easy to mount and set up. I loved the fact that when it’s “on” it’s always recording, make it so much easer not to worry whether is recording or not all the time. Picture quality is brilliant and the app has a special “storage” section to keep important recordings that you don’t want to be overwritten.
Ah, and I contacted customer service and they replied with a phone call with hours.
All in all, I will likely buy it again once my current camera expires for good in the next few months.

    Excellent all round produc
I don’t generally write reviews unless the product is exceptional (or awful!). In this case, I can’t praise the camera enough, which is well worth the cost.
Riding a motorbike in London for the past 47 years, one realises the importance of recording one’s journey (pedestrians stepping off the curb without looking, drivers opening car doors without looking, taxis doing U-turns without looking etc) – I get the impression that, as a motorbiker, one is ‘guilty until proved innocent’ if one is involved in an accident (I was knocked off my motorbike last year whilst stationary at traffic lights by a speeding police car, which crashed into the rear of my bike!).
The set-up is straight forward, unless like me, you try to connect camera-phone by Bluetooth, not WiFi. Customer service was very helpful in this respect and having enlightened me as to the WiFi connection set-up, picture quality and sound are superb. Build quality is also excellent.
Having a recording front and rear is invaluable, especially when it comes to speeding police cars….

I`ve been looking to buy a good dashcam for my partner for his motorbike on his birthday. I find that there`s no difference between GoPro and this one but the price. On both dashcams the video reviews while driving are quiet. In reality is different. We`ve been looking for the settings but those are poor so you can`t make many changes for the sound. On both you can still hear the wind while driving and it`s annoying. Compared to the other one, Techalogic DC-1 is more useful. Setting up was a bit difficult as we couldn`t use the app required due to an issue but we spoke with customer service, by the end the dashcam works fine. Customer service is excellent! They reply straight away. We have low knowledge of IT so not sure if the app we`re using has something to do with the sound by not having many options for settings… Overall, with all minor minuses, my partner love it!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood little piece of kit, great value.
Good little piece of kit. Got this camera to use while commuting on my motorbike and after being hit by a careless driver that did not bother to stop after throwing me to the ground.
I’m truly amazed by the picture quality, although the fact that it is not stabilised, makes for a really shaky video sometimes. To avoid a lot of vibration, I’ve fitted the camera on my backpack shoulder strap, which has been proven to be a good choice stability wise. Ok quality in low light conditions, although most times one would not be able to read a license plate due to high reflectiveness of the plate which dazzles the camera. I have noticed that both front and rear, when facing a plate directly, will give a good reading of the plates on almost any conditions and within aprox 15m of the lens.
Being a dual lens camera, front and back and given the price, it is a good quality piece of kit that will provide some piece of mind in case anything should happen while out on the road.
Would definitely recommend this kit, as well as the customer service provided. Had a few issues due to delivery driver leaving package with neighbor and I wasn’t notified of delivery. Reached out to customer service to check and confirm delivery and they have replied swiftly and helped me realise where the product was delivered.
All in all would recommend as a safety addition for any rider, be it biker, cyclist or horse riding.

Golden Review Award: 99 From Our UsersExcellent camera and Uk support but a serious flaw - Edit: Now FIXED!
I have waited a little while to spend time with the camera before writing this review. The build quality is excellent, the picture quality is faultless and the UK support is second to none, prompt, efficient and courteous. The mounts available in the box are quite excellent, enabling many different options for many different applications. The swivel attachment means this works if you have different styles of bikes which have different riding positions. It’s a GoPro mount so if anything is wanting you know it’s a standard and supported mount. I would really like to give this 5 stars but I can’t. There is a serious software issue that apparently cannot be fixed. The camera will turn off after 3 minutes of what it thinks is inactivity or as we know it; driving on the motorway. The camera will turn itself off and be totally useless from that point until you stop and notice it’s switched off. This is a serious flaw and means you should either avoid motorways or plan your accident / near miss before you get on the motorway, not after. It’s a real shame as the camera is brilliant and the price is well worth it, but when it turns off incorrectly it’s useless.

Edit: I have now changed this from 3 stars to 5 stars. The flaw with the camera turning OFF while in use is fixed by Techalogic’s recommendation to use the Viidure app, rather than Roadcam. With Viidure you can turn off the energy saving/sleep mode. Now the camera is perfect. I rode 200 miles recently on motorway and it stayed on the whole time. Thank you Techalogic for a fantastic product.

    Excellent seller, great product.
A great idea and as it’s difficult to find a black box camera for a bike that’s not priced at an extortionist amount.
The parts that come with it to fit the camera to my helmet are very brittle and are easy to break. I have had to get in touch
With the manufacture for one part that broke the first time I tried removing it from the helmet. They were very quick to replace the part so I can’t fault the after sale service. I also noticed the collar that holds the camera had snapped at some point when it was attached. I thought it was probably better to re-enforce the one I had than bother having it replaced.
All in all the camera is great and you can get GoPro fittings if you want to. Excellent seller great product.
