Great battery life
Bought for my caravan , features useful and location accurate. Rechargeable battery lasts a long , which you can monitor and setup low battery warning. Just need to setup sim card data .
Very good GPS tracker, set up the Sim then have put it in the car as hopefully a tracker should my car get stolen. Hidden away as its a strong magnet on the back and sticks to anything, good app that does the tracking and I have set it to warn me when vehicle is outside my home hotspot and also a warning set if the van moves. I know it works as car was in for a service and I was able to track when and where they took it for a test drive after the service and also when it was travelling back to me as they collected and delivered. Its good and cheap as a bit of extra security.
So I got this as a secondary tracker for my car – wanted a portable one so could take it out when needed and didn’t want to hard wire it to the car.
Got the slightly larger one w for the battery more than anything else.
Charged it up, got a 1p SIM card from Amazon and added 10 credit to it and now I have the app tracking it and if I want to I can send a text to the device number and get a real time message back with map, or go on the ap and track it
I would say the app is not the best as tracking of speed is lower than the car is doing, but hey if they sell my data to insurance companies at least it makes me look like a safe driver lol
I used GiffGaff as they last the longest without use ie 4 moths before they take the number back.
All you need to do is every 4months take the sim out of the box and pop it in a phone and send a message and boom, card works forever.
The only issue I have with this and have removed a star is due to the fact the battery life is poor – I full charge it with the supplied wire and get it to 100% after several hours of charging , but it barely lasts 2 weeks before it need to be recharged
Great little device
As of yet the TK913 appears to be working correctly and doing what i require it for.
Initially i had issues getti it online. But after restoring the device to factory settings it was online immediately.
The magnet is good despite reviews stating that it’s not the best. I think it’s a good little device and to get the service with it for free is excellent. I found most trackers offer a subscription to use them.
The battery life is pretty good. It’s been on for a week now and just above 50%. It’s not too big either so will fit in most small spaces.
The app is very easy to use and so is the online website.
I’m very happy with this device and would recommend to anyone wanting an affordable tracker without subscription!
I originally bought one of these 4 years ago as a tracker for my motorcycle. It provides a subscription free option for keeping track of your vehicle. The battery life is very good – lasts about a month or two depending on use. The unit itself is palm sized and fairly easy to hide within your vehicle, I wouldnt however rely on the magnet if you at attaching it underneath your vehicle, I use strong velcro to keep mine in place.
I bought a giffgaff sim for the tracker and stuck a tenner on it 4 years ago – I’ve yet to need to top it up. It provides reliable tracking and has other great features such as geofencing and vibration alarm. You can track it via the tkstar website or the very useful app which is free to download.
The setup procedure isnt particularly easy- but most of the trackers I have purchased have come with decent instructions. I ended up writing a blog post with a guide on how to set these up, to make things easier for my friends who had bought them. http://hardtailchop.com/tkstar-gps-tracker
4 years later I now own 5 of these trackers! 3 for motorcycles, one for the car and another model (which looks like a rear light) for my bicycle. The customer support is particularly good and they have been able to add all of my trackers to the same app so I can track them easily.
I’ve recommended this tracker to many of my biker friends as a more cost effective option to the subscription based models – and they are also very happy with the product.
Will definitely buy more of these if I require them.
