Pricey but perfec
Fits perfectly on the camera and really sturdy. It’s the first time I’ve used an L-bracket, I usually get base plates for my cameras and drop the ball head for portrait shooting, but this lowers the camera considerably. I did a whole day of portrait format shooting yesterday, and the L- bracket proved its worth. Of course when dropping a ball head to shoot vertically, the whole of the camera/lens is moved to the side, shifting the centre of gravity off centre; I usually cope with this by shifting the tripod so the camera is extending directly over one of the legs for maximum support. Using the L-bracket, I could shoot vertically whilst keeping the centre of mass over the centre column of the tripod, so enhancing stability. This is the first 3 Legged Thing product I have bought, but I’m very impressed with the quality, making it well worth the price.
Be Wary
The bracket itself is made of alloy and fits the camera perfectly as previous brackets I have owned. Included in the package is a bracket that allows you to attach your camera to a Peak Design Capture Clip. This is an excellent idea, however, unlike the L-bracket, it is made from plastic. I don’t think I will attach a 4000 camera weighing just shy of 1Kg, not including lens to hang from a piece of plastic.
