The only issue I had were with the wifi antenna drivers but that was more of an issue on Microsoft’s end. It works well and has a good amount of usb headers. You might want to get a usb a header to usb c header adapter if your front panel io has usb c.

I bought this in March 2022 for 70 and it has worked flawlessly until recently when one of the fan headers stopped working, I’ve connected a fan hub splitter(7 Amazon) to the other header so problem solved. The problem now is the price, it was decent vfm when I bought it, but not now.

It is holding my pc parts in place very nicely, nothing is falling out. It works great and has amazing settings and very easy to use on my pc tbh. It is worth buying 🙂 However, one thing is that the usb-c I accidentally broke which is my fault but also kind of the motherboard since the black piece was not glued onto the motherboard.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI upgraded to this from a B450 MSI Tomahawk Max to gain access Wifi 6 and an additional NVME slot. 109 was a good price for these features.
Overall it’s a good board with plenty of features. However, one big downside for me is the fact that the usb c port will not charge my quest 2 when I play PCVR games. Reddit is full of forum posts about Ausus board having this issue.
My old MSI B450 never had a problem charging (I use the official Oculus link cable).
I’ve gotten round this by using Kuject Design 16FT Link Cable for Oculus Quest 2, which I bought from Amazon.

My ryzen 5600 worked straight out the box!

Had to get this one due to the board I was originally getting didn’t have next day. Therefore ordered this instead.

Was surprised to see it was ryzen 5000 ready with a sticker showing on the box. Was prepared to use the built in bios flash back.

Nice to have all usb 3 / 3.2 ports on the back. And the addition of NVME drives. Which I will be getting soon.

Really simple board to wire up and was fun to move to amd after using intel for years.

Will enjoy this board until I need to upgrade my 1070 in the coming year or 2 which will be replaced for one with PCI-E Gen 4 to maximise performance for a newer GPU

    5 stars all day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent budget motherboard with nice io

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersIt’s getting very hard to find a B550m (micro-atx) motherboard that properly handle the power requirements of the Ryzen 9 5950x. I would have ideally used the Gigabyte Aorus Pro-P which has 10+2 Phases Digital Twin Power Design with 50A DrMOS. The Asus TUF only has 8+2 DrMOS power stages so I was worried. But honestly I’ve had no problems with power delivery what-so-ever. From what I’ve researched, you should stay away from anything that has only 4 power stages (for obvoius reasons) unless you’re running a Ryzen 7 5700g (60w TDP) and do your research before buying a board claiming 8 power stages because in reality they may actually only be 4 (a little dressed up).

In a side by side comparison the ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-PLUS wins overall for better features , it’s cheaper and still readily available. I paid 130 for mine while the Aorus Pro-P is a solid 160 (if you can find it). You can buy them for 200 imported from Japan (no thanks). Also, Gigabyte has discontinued it and I searched high and low for one locally then felt like I was buying something inferior getting this ASUS TUF board, but I was wrong. It has fantastic BIOS and they have it set up so you can modify the most fundamental power delivery features very easily. My only gripe is that it doesn’t remember that you’ve set it to Advanced mode and always boots into Easy Mode.

I have some really nice T-Force DDR4 Samsung B-Die memory which is 3600mhz CL14,15,15,38 and I set it to 14, 14, 14, 30 and it’s running flawlessly. And also I occasionally touch the VRM heatsink to see if it’s hot and sometimes when I’m running all cores it’s a bit warm but it’s ok. I also give a my memory a heat test and it’s always cold. So overall I’m very happy!

I totally recommend this for the VRM’s as it’s just about the last micro-atx B550m board you can find that can handle the Ryzen 9 5950x. The price here on Amazon fluxuates from 130 to 160. Check daily and grab one when the price is within your budget.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI bought three Asus Motherboards at Christmas time – the B550M TUF (mAtx), a B550 ROG Strix-F and this B550 TUF. I use this board with a Ryzen 3600, an RTX 3060ti and a Samsung NVME 970 Evo. They have worked flawlessly together since then. This board has some great features – space for 2 NVME drives, a thunderbolt header, multiple USB options at the rear including USB-C and good looks. The ARGB headers made life very easy to configure an attractive system. In some ways, I prefer the more subtle looks of this board to the Strix, although there’s no doubt I’d go for that one if I wanted the more blingy system.

The system has been really solid and configuration was a breeze. The only issues I’d watch out for is read the manual, as some SATA ports are disabled if you are using the PCI-E 3 NVME socket.

My sole minor issues with this board is the choice of a bespoke 14 pin thunderbolt 3 header, different from other manufacturers choices and the lack of a second heatsink for the top NVME drive. That said, the thunderbolt issue is a niche feature that most buyers won’t require, and shouldn’t put them off purchase because they can always buy the Asus supported card. As far as the heatsink goes, I bought a drive with one on anyway, so it wasn’t a problem and unless you’re using a really fast drive, it’s probably not necessary anyway.

    Highly recommended!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI needed to upgrade my cpu, I had an i5 2400 and really wanted to upgrade but in order to upgrade the cpu i needed to upgrade the motherboard.

I went with this one because it was a lot cheaper than some other flashier ones, I’m not to bothered about how it looks I’m only bothered that it works so because it’s ASUS I thought it would be good.

I was so surprised how good it actually was for the price.

I wasn’t sure that it would take certain cpus, like the ryzen 3000 series so I went for a ryzen 2600x but that’s another story.
On the box it says I does work with the ryzen 3000 series I so I will upgrade at another date.

Loading into the bios the update was pretty recent I think from around April 2020 so it only needed one update which was the most recent update and this was easy to do as I was connected to the internet, and it was fast.

The motherboard seems to stay around 35 – 45 degrees depending on the work loads and ambient temperatures and as I bought this during a heat wave I’m expecting those temps to drop when this killer heat dies down.

Only one con I can think of is the io metal shield part, it felt cheaply made and it didn’t seem to sit quite right with the connection from the mother board, I had to bend little bits I don’t know if that was just me doing it wrong or not, it fit fine but I wasn’t totally happy with it.

So if you are looking for a decent no frills motherboard for AMD Ryzen 3000 series this is a good motherboard as far as I can tell.
