Very good and handy device for Caravan Damp Testing
Does what is says and is easy to use. Nice features are the light and Hold function for hard to access locations. Very pleased. I used it whilst diagnosing and fixing a Bailey Caravan damp issue
No poking holes
I was looking to buy caravan but I certainly wouldnt use the “pin” moisture reader as minute as oin heads are the do make a hole . these are soo much better ,, seem to be accurate ,, as tested them on timber /walls studding ,, rafters around the house that are dry /no damp and use that as reference to measure everything else .would buy again ,, battery life is good ,used a good while and still on original batteries .As good practise ,when not using for while ,pop batteries out .
First impressions are that this is very good quality, easy to use instructions and a great accurate display. I checked some kiln dried oak logs that have been stored indoors for the last 12 months and was given a 0% moisture reading. Also checked oak logs recently purchased with a slightly higher readings of between 09.7% and 10.8% so I’m guessing the accuracy is pretty good. To verify the readings were a positive result I checked one of our walls we’d had issues with in a previous roof leak and was surprised to see that it still has a high moisture level. Having found this I can check the progress of the wall drying out now the leak has been fixed. Brilliant little gadget to have, great price highly recommended.
I purchased this from Amazon to replace an older damp meter which I have had for many years. This one is a huge upgrade over the one its replacing.
Whereas my other one just gave out a loud screeching noise this gives you an actual reading on the bright and easy to understand large screen.
There are several options it will give you readings on softwood / hardwood/building. Handy so you can see how wet your logs are for wood burner plus the building mode tells you how damp your walls are! It also has a built-in torch. Oh, it is completely silent too!
Fantastic value and a must have in my opinion.
Really useful tool for novices to woodburners!
We recently had our first woodburner installed and getting wood with the ‘right’ moisture level was a bit hit and miss until we used one of these. So simple and it seems to generate reliabe data if the quality of the ‘burn’ is anything to go by! Very much recommended.

Well engineered, packaged, compact, light weight, with multiple damp reading options. Comes with protective case, carry bag, batteries and spare probing nodes The screen and reading is well illuminated and easy to understand and read even for someone like me as blind as a bat. I got to grips with this in seconds. I don’t get excited much these days but this little gizmo for value and what it does is possibly one of the best pound for pound gadgets on Amazon.
So we were convinced we had a leak near our bathroom area which connected to the main lobby, but our insurance company kept telling us they had fix the problem yet the walls still looked wet. Brought this little device to monitor the walls morning and eve in and was very handy to see that the walls weren’t drying after using the water or having a shower, it was very noticeable that the water has not been drying up. Using a humidifier machine and everything and nothing was changing. Finally got the company to sort it out. The number does seem to be going down now and walls are noticeably less wet.
