It took me a little while to work out the first piece to assemble but once that was done the rest was easy.
I found the setting were great – from quite light to really heavy!

Just what I wanted. I just have to get into the habit of using it every day!

As a fit sixty something man, I decided to supplement my usual exercise and physical activities with a rowing machine. As I am quite short and relatively light, I decided to get this reasonably priced model. It has proved to be an excellent choice. It is well constructed, and the range of resistance settings is fine for me. Currently I’m on 10, and it goes up to 16, so I don’t think I will outgrow it.
The only reason that I haven’t given it 5 stars, is because the time function is quite inaccurate. This isn’t a problem for me as I use a fitness tracker to monitor my heart rate, but it may be an issue for some.
But overall I can recommend it.

Does exactly as expected, and easy to put together (about 30 mins) would give it 5 stars… however the day after I ordered it the price went down by 70 ! So a little miffed…

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersReally impressed with how quiet and smooth this machine is! The seat comfort is ok, I wear padded shorts which does the trick. The handle is very nice to touch and it’s easy to move the unit to store when not in use.

The assembly instructions were OK, clearly translated into English with a few amusing phrases, terrible images but easy enough to follow. I’d estimate 45 mins to construct at a relaxed pace.

The timer runs approximately 15 seconds slow per 5 minute workout, which is good motivation as you’ve finished your session earlier than expected! Compared with my Apple Watch tracker the calorie count seems accurate enough and the rep count is also correct. I’m trusting the distance tracker is accurate since I have no other way to validate but I’m less bothered about distance anyway.

Overall I’d recommend this if you’re looking for a study yet budget priced rower. Just use your own timer unless you want a tough workout!

If you have used rowing machines in a gym and expecting this to be like a Concept 2 then you will be disappointed. But if you want a home rowing machine at a reasonable price then this is for you. It is smooth stable and well made. Easy to put together. Having used it everyday since it arrived I can say that it gives the feel and comfort of the gym machines and gives a solid workout.
How long that will be sustained I can’t say but having purchased it for under 200 in the sale it is great value for money.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI wanted to start rowing as during lockdowns I had the use of a water rower. I looked at new water rowers and second hand rowers, these are great rowers but still a lot of money to hang clothes on, If my rowing like lockdowns were just a passing phase. I then turned my attention to air rowers, read reviews and compared magnetic against air…buying a better magnetic rower against a lower spec air rower seemed to me the best option.. This rower has been great. I’m doing 5k daily after a month, I’m pulling half way up the scale and enjoying it. The trip computer is basic but it does me. The machine is a little noisey but it nothing a tighten of the bolts will not cure. The fly wheel is not loud at all, nothing a 45min episode on Netflix doesn’t mask.. if your looking to step into rowing for the first time this rower for me has been great.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI was using Concept 2 at the gym before. Not the same experience, definitely resistance is not so big but after 5 minutes I found that the highest setting is definitely enough! If you want to fo longer sessions the highest setting will be too high unless you are very fit.
I’m 6’1 with long legs and the size is very good.
Easy to asemble. Feels like it might last. Very quiet. I’m rowing while watching films with my family and they don’t complain. Easy to move around the toom thanks to little front wheels. Doesn’t take much space.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI’ve been using the rowing machine for about two weeks now and it’s a good bit of kit and definitely great value for money even at the full price of 250 – which I didn’t pay. It’s a little while since I used a gym machine but it feel similar in terms of smooth rowing action and build. So far I’ve set the resistance between 4 and 7, so there appears to be room for growth as I get fitter. The monitor is accurate, though I’d take calories burnt with a small pinch of salt as it didn’t ask for personal details like age, weight, gender etc. It took me about 2 hours to build, partly because the instructions are not detailed enough; if you buy one the attached picture will be helpful. Handy it can be stored upright occupying a floor-space of about 2ft x 3ft.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Value and Solid Build

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPurchased to replace a JLL machine that failed after 5 years, unable to get parts to repair.
Delivered in a reasonable enough time. Easy enough to assemble with clear instructions and tools provided.
I find this machine better in most respects, ergonomically it is more comfortable with better foot position, it is much quieter-actually very quiet-and the design is neater with the machine being slightly shorter in length taking up less floor space. Resistance levels are fine for my needs. The display is small and pretty basic but that’s not a big issue for me as long as it works.
    Overall quite happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersExtremely well packaged, see photos! Unpacking and checking contents took longer than the assembly, the build took 20 minutes but that’s my fault as I fitted seat backwards, doh!
Genuinely surprised and impressed with build quality, this feels robust and well made. The assembly instructions are very clear with good diagrams and written instructions which were easy to follow and not some dodgy difficult to understand translation.
The seat action is very smooth and the seat itself is comfortable. The D rings on the foot strap velcro is a nice touch and makes tightening and adjusting much easier. The 16 levels of resistance are OK but would not suit an accomplished or more serious rower but keep in mind this is priced as an entry level machine. I purchased this to add some variety to my workout and am happy with my purchase sofar, I may out grow this as my fitness improves but don’t regret buying it. I would recommend this as 1st time rower as it is well built and value for money

5.0 out of 5 stars Budget, simple but well made

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe rowing is perfect for our family use . The only concern I have is the white rollers between the rail and seat have parts flaking off after use , not sure if this is going to settle down or not . Could the seller / manufacturer please advise ?

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersSo, he’s now 60 and recently disliking his growing tummy, and becoming a little lazy and with zero energy.. he asked around and told the best thing to go buy was a rowing machine.. our go to place as always; Amazon – found this little baby and read the very helpful reviews..

For 200 this is great kit. Speedy delivery, well packed.. he was worried for nothing as literally ten easy screws to get it assembled. It’s solid and robust.. very easy to use and understand, with such a quiet swoosh back and forward – its amazing.. early days for Chic; getting wee light aches in his legs, arms and sides tells me it is working, and when they subside it’s time to increase his resistance .. got this! And so excited.. Chic had a wee glass of wine last night to celebrate the ST’s

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely happy with his new toy

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy mouth dropped when I saw the machine in in parts in the box. However, the assembly was straightforward enough as the parts are well machined. It took 45 minutes.

The machine is sturdy and works well. Rather heavy to move. The pulley works through a heavy tape connected to the magnetic drive. The display for time elapses, rows pulled and distance rowed is reasonably accurate.

The chief drawback is that there are 16 exercise levels, but none of them really challenging, even though I have only been rowing for 6 months. I am already on level 16 after three weeks of use.

A good buy if you only require light exercise.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersI wanted to get a little fitter than I was because I knew I’d lost a lot of strength and mobility over the pandemic lockdowns/restrictions and my job as a tour guide is quite surprisingly physical – BUT I have long-standing joint problems (old sporting injuries are catching up with me now I’m in my 60s). I did a bit of research and asked some knowledgeable friends and the answer was plainly an ergo/rowing machine. I only have a small home, and live alone, so I needed one that I could put together myself and which wouldn’t take up too much space.

After a huge amount of checking around, reading reviews, etc I decided on this one and I’m really pleased with it. Assembly was very straightforward (I’m female and 65, by the way). The main component is pretty heavy, naturally, but fortunately it’s all put together in such a way that you don’t really need to lift it much if at all.

It’s much more substantial and well-built that I was expecting for the price, the seat runs smoothly, the 16 different tension settings allow you to choose the level you want/need for what you’re trying to achieve and the whole mechanism is surprisingly quiet and it just makes a muted ‘whoosh-whoosh’ sound, so you won’t drive the neighbours mad. It doesn’t have many bells and whistles, but I didn’t want them anyway. The counter records distance, strokes, time … that sort of thing … which is all I needed.

I use it every day on one the middle settings, sometimes twice a day … it’s something you can do while you’re waiting for dinner to cook … and within a comparatively short space of time I began to notice a marked improvement in both my arm and leg strength and, most importantly, in my core strength. I was a little unsteady on things like step ladders, for instance, but I spent a good chunk of yesterday up a pair of steps installing heat and smoke alarms, and I had absolutely no problems balancing at all. I can’t attribute that to anything other than the rowing machine.

And the bonus is that it has castors on the heavy and can be tipped upright and stored in a fairly small space, so it can easily be moved out of the way and stored in a corner if I need the room for anything else.

For the price it’s quite remarkable and I unhesitatingly give it five stars across the board.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersI was advised by my Physiotherapist to try a rowing machine to help with my Psoriatic arthritis and chronic pain. As you can imagine these long term conditions do not fit well with intense exercise. But my health professional was concerned about my lack of exercise that gets my heart working. I tried a number of exercise machines at the rehabilitation centre and the rowing machine fitted my needs best. This rowing machine arrives packaged well and needs assembly. It’s relatively easy to assemble in about 30 minutes. I need help to do this because I have arthritis in my hands. The first thing to note is the machine is of high quality and assembles well. It can also be stood upright for storage. I leave mine set up so it’s easy to just use it. The instructions are very clear and there is a brief guidance on use. There is a LCD display that shows various counts, kilometres, calories and total counts. There is a control knob to vary the pull and it goes up to a total of 16.

It’s a well made machine and works really well. It might not suit a seasoned rower but is idea for someone wanting to get fitter. The fact that I’m sat down greatly reduces the strain on my arthritic joints. The adjustment knob allows me to set it to my ability depending on how I’m feeling that day.

I knew I would be someone that wouldn’t attend a gym regularly do to my condition. The cost of the machine over a few months makes it a good investment over monthly gym fees.

I’m very pleased with the rowing machine and since using the machine have lost 5kg in weight. I was already following a healthy diet before I got the machine.

So I would recommend the rower and think it’s a superb machine to get fit on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb rowing machine.
