Not really moth season at the moment, so a bit hard to review the efficacy of these. I can say however that they are easy to construct and have the little hanging hook for convenience. You just need to be careful with the sticky trap part as it is SUPER sticky. I have made one of these up to hang in the wardrobe where I am sure there are some clothes moths, but I haven’t caught anything yet. This will come into it’s own in the Spring when moth season starts again though, so I am saving the rest for then.

As others have said, this is a tool in the overall arsenal against moths and won’t eradicate them by itself. It will hopefully slow breeding enough that you can use other methods to get on top of things. Moths are a persistent pest once you have them that requires a whole protocol to eliminate. This is just one step in the process, but an important one!

I had the odd few months in the house, mainly the bedroom, so got these to hopefully get rid of them. It comes in a 10 pack, they’re easy to setup, I hung one in the bedroom and am glad to say that it killed 4 moths in around 5 days days, have not seen another since then. Great items that do what they’re supposed to do.

Elegancely Moth Traps are a clean and efficient way of getting rid of troublesome moths. Each of the 10 individually wrapped strips is easily constructed into a small cradle concealing an odourless sticky strip that is obviously irresistible to moths. Within two weeks, despite being used in winter, when less are around, the trap successfully trapped and killed two clothes moths. I highly recommend this effective product.

It’s not really moth season, but if you have had pantry moths, clothes moths, flour moth and carpet moth then these are really worth a try. They are sticky traps baited with the scent of the female moths of these species, moths rely on scent to find a mate and the male moths are attracted to the trap, and get stuck in the glue. The traps are a great way to see if you have a moth problem as if you are catching males then you have both in your home. they also reduce the activity and breeding of the moth populations removing the male moths from the equation. If you have caught a lot of male moths then you know you have a bigger problem.
I like the fact that they are active for four species so you can use them to suit your needs.
The traps are very easy to set up, just be careful of the sticky side, it’s strong glue. Each trap has a hanging hook so you can hang them in the wardrobe or up high in the house, male moths tend to fly higher than female moths.
It’s too soon to measure effectiveness as moth season is over, but I have placed one trap in a known area for the pesky pantry moths and i will put the rest into action in April/May next year and update my review then.

Last year we had trouble in the winter months with clothes moths, they were especially annoying in the evening as they would fly towards our screen attracted to the light. I did eventually find out where they were coming from and mostly eliminated them. Unfortunately not before they managed to leave quite a few holes in my clothes! This year I decided to take no chances, we have a lot of expensive clothes and the damage they did last time was disappointing.

I was recently in an old converted estate house that was turned into a hotel quite tastefully. I noticed some little moth hotel sticky things whilst I was there and had a peek inside. To my surprise there were quite a few little moths in them. They work particularly well around evening light sources and suspect areas like closets. I tried these ones out and so far I’ve caught only 1! I am hoping that is because there isn’t many in my house this year. Either way I’m not taking chances.

I also hate the smell of moth balls, these are pretty much scent free, even though they have pheromone you can’t actually smell it so its a nice alternative.

Ordered these moth traps after my poor Mum had to throw out several items in her wardrobe following a visit from moths.

Didn’t know what to expect as fortunately (touch wood) we have never had an moth issue. These are a brilliant design and a simple, but very clever concept. On opening the package from the silver foil, you can open up the moth trap which is simply an incredibly strong sticker on three sides with zero smell. As the title says – I thought my finger wasn’t going to come off.Good value with a pack of 10 x moth catchers per pack that each last up to 12 weeks, which is good performance.

If there are any more moths in my Mums wardrobe all I can see is uh oh!!!

Will eagerly await the news of all stuck moths!

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost got my finger stuck!

I think the wording in the product description needs reviewing, (Elegancely 10-Pack Pheromone & Clothes Moth Trap) ? Whilst it might catch moths it won’t catch their pheromones. Talking of which, where on the packaging does it mention the word ‘Pheromones’? It doesn’t, which is either an oversight of the manufacturer or it doesn’t contain them at all. I would like to see some clarification on that subject.

Assuming of course that these traps do indeed contain pheromones they work by attracting and catching the male moths, thus preventing them from mating with the female moth and so preventing her from laying eggs. Of course in reality mating might have taken place before being caught so these traps are not fool-proof.

In practice, once you peel off the protective layer covering the sticky portion you do need to take care as these traps are very sticky indeed. I can imagine that any insect or small creature would stick to these. The sticky area covers virtually the entire inner surface which should catch more moths although it’s early days. Here in the UK clothes moths tend to be inactive during the winter months although central heating can cause an early influx of newly hatched moths.

Useful to know, it’s not the moths that chew holes in your clothing/carpets, it’s their larvae which look like small magots. These can sometimes be found wriggling along the edges of your woollen carpets in areas of high infestation. Tell-tale signs are bald patches on the edges of the carpets. Regularly vacuuming along the skirtings and edges of carpets can be helpful if you have woollen carpets.

I’ve had moth pheromone traps in the past, and these appear to be a sightly posher, nicely designed version. They arrive flat packed and you have to assemble them into the shape in the illustration.

The cardboard triangle that ‘protects’ the pheromone panel is a great idea because let me tell you, that stuff is very very sticky – and left in the wrong place it will find a way to stick onto you…

On the other hand, it does mean you can only pop the assembled unit in places where you have enough space, such as under drawers or in the back of the wardrobe. I had to leave the cardboard holder off to put it under the sofa where moths had been seen to enjoy the wool carpet, for example. (This is easy to do).

Now, pheromone traps MUST be used in conjunction with a range of other measures and they will not work on their own, except for, (I hope) as I am using them – to see if a previous set of treatments continues to be successful ( if the little suckers show up on the pheromone trap, it looks like there is still more work to be done).

The traps trap the male moths but not the female which means the numbers of moths reproducing goes down with each new generation ( we hope). Its a good way to see how big the problem is, and be quick to take action if issues are found.

Female moths will not be attracted to the panel so might fly right past – this does not mean the traps aren’t working. Also, they can trap male moths, and, depending on location, some larvae – but will not kill eggs so other types of treatment would be required for that if an infestation is found.

it’s handy to have these for peace of mind and there is no downside to them really – there are odourless and unobtrusive and can be a good first warning if moths are to be found.
