Great customisation option.
My 2nd eXtremeRate Switch Pro controller case, after having the EU SNES style for a while and loving the look. I purchased this emerald green version as my childhood emerald green PlayStation 1 controller was my favourite!
They are a breeze to install following the amazing video guide. The only slightly fiddly part is re-attaching the ribbon cable, but there’s a knack to it.
This emerald green style is hard plastic, which I’m happy about. My SNES style is soft touch and one of the grips ended up with a small gouge. I’ve had to swap back to the stock grips, which thankfully look good with the grey.
My only slight annoyance is the grips aren’t completely flush in the top corners. I.e. near the A button and left stick there’s a very slight lip. Thankfully only noticeable if I run my finger along it, but still irritating all the same. The stock Switch Pro grips are completely flush. It’s the same with both of my eXtremeRate Switch Pro controller replacements so assume it’s a manufacturing limitation.
Nostalgia Inducing
As a kid I loved the transparent playstation controllers. I was disappointed by the lack of colour options for the switch pro controller, until i found ExtremeRate’s products. I went for the crystal purple and felt so nostalgic seeing it on the controller for the first time. It was super easy to swap the old one out and put the new one on, especially with the video tutorial. The only fiddly bit is reconnecting the ribbon cable inside, but even that wasn’t bad. I will definitely be purchasing more from this store!
Great quality and easy to do
This was really easy to put on. The quality is great, I love the soft touch feel of it. I done my joycons about a year ago and they’ve held up really well so I see no reason why this won’t. This was also a lot easier than doing the joycons. Find a good YouTube video to follow. Took me about 45 minutes.
Great, but not perfect.
Doesnt quite fit perfectly on the right hand side. This leads to squeaking when using the controller, especially for smash brothers. The right hand side grip also doesnt sit flush to the body but that isn’t really a major concern.

Sooooo beautiful!! very glossy, feels better than the original nintendo plastic. A little tricky to install, KEEP YOUR SCREWS IN ORDER. I used the screws from Nintendo personally. Took around an hour as this was my first time doing a reshell

Soft touch shells are definitely the way to go! They look and feel great~
Unlike other shells I’ve tried in the past, these don’t make your hands feel clammy or sweaty after extended sessions of gaming.
Great product to personalise your controlle
I bought this skin so that my controller would match my colour scheme for the front room and I love it. I followed the video mentioned in the description which shows you how to put the new skin on. I would have preferred if the video spoke through the steps rather than having music on but I managed anyway. I would recommend a good hour for this process and lots of patience as the screws can be small and fiddly. Luckily you get a few spare and the screw drivers included! The skin is lovely and smooth to touch which I personally really like, but if you prefer a grip I would not recommend.
