Used this to protect new grass seed and it did a good job in wind and rain. The rain soaked through it protected the new grass as I hoped it would

I got this specifically for protecting perennial plants from frost, but I’ve also used it to create a small poly-tunnel for growing winter lettuce. My fleece measures 10mx3m and so I cut about 1.5m off and draped it over hoops to make a tunnel just over 2m long which I can use over the winter and early spring. Otherwise, I just use it for protecting plants from frost, in the garden and in a cold frame. Frankly, there’s enough fleece wrap up a small tree if you want to, so I’m sure it’ll last me several winters even if I don’t reuse any of it. It seems like a very decent product. It’s easy to cut and folds back easily enough in its packaging when you need to store it. You can cut it up like I’ve done or use it whole to drape over an even larger tunnel. The real test will be seeing how the plants are in the spring, but so far I’m really happy with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enough fleece to wrap up a small tree for the winte

This is your typical Frost proofing material. I got it to wrap around my banana plants in the garden and some of the more tropical plants. Easy enough to use, simply unspool and wrap. It’s easy enough to cut as well if you want to trim it down to size or shorten the length. Fair price for a decent length. Not had a Frost yet to comment on the effectiveness.

Autumn and winter in my garden can be very unpleasant for my plants. The garden layout prevents the plants and the soil from getting much sun, and the tunnel-like build of the surrounding houses allows the cold winter winds to blow through unhindered.

So far, this fleece has worked well at alleviating these problems. The fleece helps to protect my plants from the colder temperatures during the night, and after the one morning of frost I have woken up to, I was happy to see that the fleece had captured the frost and shielded my plants from the worst of it.

I will have to wait for more constant colder temperatures and frosty mornings before I can say how well it has worked to safeguard my plants, but for now, I am happy with the quality and useful size of this fleece.

You get a fair amount of plant protection here for the price and helps to protect your plants during the autumn/winter seasons.
The material is quite good quality and is large enough for my garden flower beds which suffered last winter, nearly killing some of my beautiful plants. Therefore it makes sense to protect them from the frost, ice and snow, not to mention the cold and sun mixed which can damage plants quickly. This provides protection by creating a greenhouse type effect which can help to stave off the below freezing temperatures whilst also allowing water to pass through the material and also acts as a UV barrier too.
If you’ve paid a lot of money for your plants (and let’s face it some plants can cost the same price as this product if not more) then it makes sense to give them an helping hand during winter so they’ll survive and have the best chance of sprouting back come spring.
The material cuts nicely too without any fraying and can be formed easily to suit a framework if this is what you plan on doing. I’ll be covering each flower bed from top to bottom which are both 5m in length giving me the perfect amount of material to cover my beds up over winter.
It’ll be a well spent 20 (at time of review) if you purchase this as it’ll save you money by protecting your greenery.

Normally I would use frost protection bags on my plants but I have two shallow planters on plinths and find the bags are too big and blow around a lot which means they get ripped, with the fleece I can tie it around the planter for a snugger fit. I can also use it on my other plants that need protection through the winter months, as I can use as much or as little as I need it’s very versatile on different shapes and sizes of plant. After years of just using the bags for ease of use I really wish I’d tried this, it will definitely be my go to for my garden from now on.

A large garden fleece that should help to keep your plants protected over winter.

Arrives in a vacuum sealed bag. Its rather large when trying to unwrap it at the size it is. To make it more manageable I cut it approximately in half so that I can handle it better. When cut it didnt fray as some of the cheaper ones do. It feels about the same thickness/weight as others I have used in the past.

Already used half of it in one piece to cover my young fruit trees after placing in the greenhouse ready for winter. Having such a large piece was good to cover them, but did take 2 people to do this efficiently.

4 stars from me. Looks like it should do the job but cant comment on its longevity or use for outdoors.

The Feizeisun Garden Fleece arrives wrapped in non-recyclable plastic with a printed label on the inside – suitable for a gift.

The ‘fleece’ is made of polypropylene (which I assume is spun-bonded) which is a better choice than perforated polythene sheets. It is 30g per sq m which is quite high but these sheets can be higher (35gsm). The sheets are very light and can rest on plants without the need for hoops.

Covering crops will protect them against some pests and cold (the advert states -5C) but allows light and wet. I don’t tend to use hoops but you can lay it over hoops or allow the plants to just push their way up.

The Feizeisun Garden Fleece is very light and soft – and I prefer this to the harder varieties.

Cut with care as you may not be able to reuse due to different size requirements for your next crop.

Sadly this polypropylene is not recyclable but it should last for 2-3 years of use if not damaged by foxes etc.

Overall this appears to be a good garden ‘fleece’ for frost protection but will not protect from the deep winter cold.

At 20 for 3x10m 30gsm – the price is reasonable.
