Bought this along with the additional side lights for the price of the competitors link box. The system works great with Alexa and is fantastic. The light adapts well and I’m loving the affect!

The lights are amazing , once properly calibrated they change the visual experience to a very high standard , amazing for gaming and watching movies etc..
The 75″-85″ it’s a bit too long for a 75″ TV and you just have dangling cables all over the back of the TV so it takes a little bit of fiddling to properly secure them .

This is an amazing product that does exactly what is advertised. It has very bright lights that is also very versatile in its settings. However, the couple of things that could be improved is that you can’t seem to get a true white in the white balance settings and it only is about 90 percent accurate in terms of picture. Another thing is that if your tv is reflective it can register and mess with the light location. So overall great product but not perfect yet.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love the govee t2 I’ve been wanting to buy it for awhile as all my other led lights are govee so I knew it would be good quality. I waited till black Friday and got a great deal, it doesn’t take long to fit and you do have to calibrate it but it’s all straight forward and I also watch a few YouTube films to see how to get the best out of it. I’ve always attached solid back led lights to my TV’s but this is totally different and makes movies and gaming so much more enjoyable, I have added a video but it doesn’t do it justice it’s not picked the colours up as well as I’d have liked to.

Wanted to buy this after seeing my brother in law install a Phillips LED behind his TV. We have a Samsung Q70R QLED 55inch. This product is an epic GAMECHANGER!!!! We don’t actually have a cinema room but the GOVEE provides enough low level ambient lighting (even when the TV is dark) that we can make out the room and objects and comfortably turn off all lights, making for an immersive movie night. Good vivid colours that keep up with the screen easily. Big Star Wars fan and watching lightsabers and space dogfighting scenes with this is spectacular. We have our television on standing mounts about 5cm from a white wall.

It also links up to Alexa and my iPhone making turning it on and off very easy. The one single tiny drawback that might affect your viewing pleasure is the fact that the screen camera is right at the top of your television. It does not obscure your view of the screen and it’s small enough that you won’t notice it after a while.

Setting up was relatively straightforward and easy as well with good instructions.

I can comfortably recommend this product WHOLEHEARTEDLY.

So I have a 48 inch LG C1 oled tv. These back-light strips are made for 55 or 65 inch tvs. However, after looking at other people’s posts on reddit and here on prime I have seen others have made these fit and work on smaller screens.
I had the Govee light bars at first which did the job, but after seeing the light strips in action I couldn’t help but think I’m missing out on how good they are, and it was all down to the size of my TV.
After reading up on my situation and seeing that people have made these work on screens that are smaller than what they are designed for I decided to take the chance and give it a go myself.
The only issue with my 48 inch tv is the strips that run the top and bottom, the sides just fit if you’re careful with positioning. The length of the top and bottom strips are about 2 or 3 inch too long, but if you carefully bend and loop around the corner and place the extra stick clips to hold them securely in place it works just fine.
I like this new duel camera with this item too. Its heavy with quality and on set up and calibration you can see the improvement over the old cameras.
Comparing to the light bars I had I can only say good things on the improvement the light strip provides of how good it all looks.
Whether buying for your living room or like me a gaming room these look great in use. I only use these when settling down for a movie night or a long gaming session, they make viewing films and games far more enjoyable and with the light being spread over a greater area around the tv makes such a difference of how it feels on your eyes.

Honestly I was very undecided whether or not to purchase these lights as they were more expensive than most, WELL SO HAPPY I DID ! They are worth every single penny, completely altered my tv viewing experience, the lights give such a subtle effect I LOVE THEM ! Very easy to set up & I found the App really easy to use as wellhonestly don’t look to purchase any other product, you really won’t be disappointed.

We now have our 1st Oled a 55″ LG C2, and it’s an amazing TV, but we formerly had a 55″ Phillips Ambilight TV, and really missing the light show, it really does make a huge difference.

Rather than goibg all out on a new system, this is a fantastic alternative and is easy to setup.

I recommend getting a strip upto 55″ rather from 55″ up, as the strip was a bit too long for each edge and the excess cable between each strip had to be looped back, and stuck on the back of the TV.

The App also isn’t great to use, but it has many additional features and once the camera is calibrated, it matches the screen almost perfectly.

Also, make sure your TV has 4 x Flat edges, as some won’t be completely flat and if the back of your TV has a texture that’s not great for sticking, it could be a challenge getting the strips to stay put.

I think they should have an installation rating for different TV’s as it would help with choosing what which Govee lighting would be the best match, but overall I’m really happy with it!

For starters it’s a very nicely packaged item with a premium ish feel, my first tip would be to download and update the app, you need to update to get all the latest options and probably the most important one is colour calibration, but just go on YouTube and watch some videos on how to best set up the device, my second tip is do it at night in a darkened room the camera can be sensitive to other light sources which can throw off the camera calibration, about calibration there is a YouTube video with the squares in the correct places, use that instead of placing the foam blockers onto the screen.
For the most part it works well but I’ve found the best experience is watching kids films which tend to be very colourful anyway and this just makes them pop, my kids love the experience and soon forgot about the camera on top of the tv.

I was a little dubious about these actually working as intended at first, as I have experience with similar lighting technologies.
Many years ago, I had a Philips plasma TV that had similar lighting, albeit not as advanced as today’s Philips TV Ambient lighting. When this TV broke, I purchased a Samsung, but as Philips has their Ambilight technology patented, I had to purchase after market ambient lighting for my Samsung that only really worked with a Firestick, or a crude video processing setup input into a PC, through VLC and back to the LED lighting. It was always touch and go and a very messy setup.
So technology has progressed and I decided to give these Govee T2’s a go and so far, I am very impressed! I thought that there may be some noticeable lag, as the two cameras pick up the colours, plus the internal processing has to then send the correct colour to the LED’s; well, there is no noticeable lag at all.
The setup is easy and the sticky pads are extremely sticky, so they won’t be falling off the back any time soon.
Having the ability to tinker with the colours, LED light modes and a wide variety of settings using the Govee Home app on my phone is fantastic. I would recommend if you’re on the fence.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was looking for lights for my living room and found Govee. Over the last year I have bought a lot of Govee products for my entire house and one of those were TV Backlight T2. Had a bit of time considering which one should I go with as there is T1, T2 and I believe T3 (Lite). I went with T2 as it is a newer version with most improvements and advantages.
It was super easy to install and my living room looks so good with the lights at the back of my 58″ TV. It works perfect when you have some extra light in your room and lights are the most accurate. However in the dark it has a bit of struggle to replicate colors from the screen so it shows more red, purple when it should be yellow, green, blue or white instead. Overall, I would strongly recommend this TV Backlight T2, I would be buying it again if ever needed too.

What a great piece of kit. Really adds to the ambiance of watching movies or anything really and gives the room lovely lighting effects. Swapped the system around so that the camera is under the tv looking upwards and works perfectly well.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIf you demand absolute neatness, even at the back of your monitor, then you might not want to go here. But I couldn’t resist buying this on sale and trying to fit this 55inch LED backlight system to my 43inch ultrawide curved monitor, and I’m very glad I did.
Due to the very narrow height of my elongated screen, I was forced to fold the side segments of the LED strips round the corners and along the top and bottom edges of the monitor, which means they overlap the top & bottom segments for a short distance at each corner.
It makes those corners a bit ‘busy’ due to the amount of LEDs and wiring, but I have successfully stuck them down with the provided clips, along with some extra velcro strips, and it really doesn’t look bad. In any case, they are out of sight behind the monitor.
After calibration, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the colours illuminate in a very close match with what is on the screen, and for first person action games like Doom, the hellish atmosphere of the game spills out of the monitor in all directions.
The colors match and spread from the monitor effectively and with no noticeable lag. For most effective atmosphere, the light is best used with no other lights on, but not because they are weak, as they are easily bright enough, in fact I think I’ve got it set at 50%, but it is simply more atmospheric and enjoyable if you turn your normal lights off.
Actually, behind me I also have a small Govee bulb in a table lamp, which changes colour in sync with these backlights, adding even more to the feeling of being IN the game, but extra lights are certainly not necessary.
It’s a great addition, not necessarily to every game, but certainly to the more colourful and action filled games.
Where it does lose out slightly, is if I use it for streaming tv – this is no fault of the Govee lights, it’s just that due to the ultrawide format of my screen, I have to display the tv screen in the centre of my monitor, leaving a black segment at each end. Because of this, the lights are less effective at each end of the screen when it’s used for this purpose. It’s still very good, just not as good as gaming with a full screen, which uses the Govee lights to the full extent on all sides.
A bit gimmicky? Maybe, but it really does add atmosphere, extending the game out into the whole room. And checking my plug-in wattage monitor, it is generally using an extra 5 to 15 watts while game playing, which is not excessive.

Golden Review Award: 108 From Our UsersDebated for a few weeks with myself as to whether I should invest in these lights. Would they work as advertised, would I find the changing lights distracting, would I find the camera on top of the tv intrusive, will it really make that much difference to watching movies and gaming compared to having static backlights, and more importantly, what would the wife feel about them. She can be quite vocal on anything she finds irritating and annoying, usually me. On top of that they are not cheap, had to get the 5m length, coming in at 169. I have had them for just over a month so thought I would share my thought’s for anyone in two minds about them. They came in quality packaging and were nicely packed in the box. The camera is solid and well made, no cheap plastic here, and the strip of LED lights also look and feel good quality, vastly different to much cheaper LED lights. There is a wire you connect from the camera to a small control box, the lights connect to the same control box as does the power lead that plugs into an electrical socket. The only issue I have had is that the control box, after a short while, kept coming unstuck from the back of the tv. I fixed this with a command strip sticking it directly to wall behind the tv, so no big deal. The important thing is that the lights themselves have stuck, and remain stuck to the tv. Relatively easy to set up and calibrate, via an app on your phone. There is no remote with this kit, all done via the app, but you can link to Alexa or Google to switch on and off, change colour ect, as you can just have a static colour if you wish. The lights are bright and colours are vivid. The change of colour, when using dreamview mode, is virtually instant. The colours on the tv screen are reasonably well replicated by the lights, sometimes the colours may be slightly off from what I’m seeing on screen, but this may be due to my lack of skill at setting it up. The key is to adjust the saturation level on the app, I have mine on 15% and to adjust the white balance, mine is a few notches away from the centre towards the blue end of the scale, to get as close as you can. You can go further and adjust the tv settings to improve it more, but I didn’t want to go down that route. To be honest I am more than happy with how it is. I have downloaded a video, but I have to say it doesn’t do the lights justice, much better in the flesh as it were. And the answers to my questions at the top of this very long winded review. Yes they do as advertised. I do not find them distracting at all, actually it’s now more distracting if the lights are not on. You actually forget the camera is on top of the tv after a very short while. Watching movies, and especially gaming, are definitely given a boost. My wife has not made a comment either way which, believe me, is a very good sign, and yes she still finds me irritating and annoying. Would I recommend? I already have. So to summarise, a good quality product that does what it says. Value for money? Your paying for quality and the technology for it to do its thing, and although not a life essential, they make me happy. It would be nice if they were cheaper, but then it would be nice if everything else was cheaper too. If you have some spare cash to spend on some lights then I absolutely recommend these. Hope this review has helped you decide.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI was gifted the T1 for Christmas but it wasn’t compatible with my flat screen tv. The camera needed sticking to the TV and was designed for thicker screens. I really liked the idea so I returned it and purchased the upgraded T2 and only having had it for a few days I am loving it when watching my movies.

Set up was quick and easy and the effects are amazing already (although I do need to spend some time working on better calibration, but this doesn’t take from my experiance)

My only reason for rating at 4 stars is a minor niggle with the light strips. Don’t get me wrong, they are great however the kit I purchased was for 55″ tv which mine is.
The light strip at the top runs the full length of the screen, which is a good thing. The side straps are about 10cm shorter than the screen, which again is fine but each strip is connected by a wire and because the top is the same length as the screen, the wire initially overhung the screen. Not so much an issue as these can be tacked back but what I notice is I can see the shadow of these in the light projected. Don’t get me wrong, you have to be looking for it to see it, but I am just that pedantic.

The strip at the bottom of the TV is the same as the top, however you need to be careful of the configuration of your TV. My TV isn’t flat at the bottom on the back so having to stick around corners was tricky and it means it doesn’t go from edge to edge like the top does.
Also my TV is on a stand and the way the stand attaches I couldn’t get the light around it, so I had to stick my light slightly higher than ideal and I fear this will take away from the effect at the bottom of the screen.
Having said this, I have my TV on a TV bench and a soundboard under the TV so I wouldn’t really see the light at the bottom anyway.
Despite this, it doesn’t take away from my experiance.

Also as another user has suggested, this would probably work better for TV against a flat wall. My TV is at an angle in the corner of the room, so the lights on the side appear brighter due to the close proximity to the wall and a constant reflection given off. Personally I can live with this but some may find this a distraction.

The stick strips seem super effective, which I do like. My concern is if/when I change the TV, I am not sure how I get this off without damage. I am also unsure how I would restick.
I am considering wall mounting my TV, which if I do I would be able to sit the lights at the bottom of my screen, but same concern arises here.

Finally I had a concern before purchase thay letterbox movies would cause an issue when detecting light on the screen, but I can confirm this doesn’t.

All in all, I love it. I recommend it and for the price compared to others on the market you can’t really go wrong.
