Love these, great value for brilliant lights.
These floodlights are amazing, the Govee app is easy to setup and simple to use and the effect in our garden is awesome. I have these pointing up and trees to highlight them and it really transforms the garden at night providing ambient light.
eeded a set of spotlights for my tiki bar in the garden. i seen these 4 set of govee ones on offer. i got them in wasnt the easiest to screw up as the brackets dont come off the lights. but i did it. they look amazing gives the right amount of color hue on the walls. has a button you can press to use like normal lights to. and the fact you can use the app with them is great as all govee lights work from the 1 app.
These as expected give off a nice coloured ‘flood light’. Had an issue with the lights randomly flashing but Govee support were very quick to respond and replace so A+ there.
Find the app a bit complex – we have other Govee products which seem a little better with the app. It’s fine at doing lots of different flashing / fast transition modes with loads of diff colours -but if you want to make your own slow changing effect it’s trickier. If you want all the lights green, then all red etc it can be done but not having diff colours on each light slowly transitioning then no which is a surprise as there are so many other combinations / modes.
. Also the Govee app won’t let you group with different numbers of lights and apply same effect (so we have a 2 and a 4) so the govee app can put the lights in a group but you can’t modify them together aside from on/off – where as in Alexa you ca
These are my own Govee lights set-up in my garden; this review now amended – as there was a fault with my set of lights as cane seen in the video. Turns out that the power adapter (permanently attached) was faulty. Anyway, these are excellent, they are fully configurable – all at once (whatever colour or them you want) or just individual. Plus the app also does scheduling / automation. Downside is that the PSU is not waterproof and the cable that leads into the control box (which is) – is not detachable. This means that you have to find a way to keep the PSU totally isolated from the elements. Cabling between lights could be longer if I was to nit-pick. Brightness is fine – they really are very bright – but don’t expect them to provide the equivalent to a 1000w halogen lamp – they’re not flood lamps 🙂
These lights are outstanding! Granted, I had to do some minor mods to make the cable long enough to wrap around the side and back of my house, then had to nail the cable painstakingly some 14 feet high, it was well worth it!
I’ve seen some reviewers saying they’re not bright enough. In my opinion they don’t need to be. If you use the Govee app and set the colour temperature slightly to the left (warmer) then they are bright enough to light up the area sufficiently. These are not designed to light up like football stadium floodlights, so again I think the expectation from some reviewers is too high.
If you have the know how and the equipment to install them permanently then you can scarcely do better than these especially considering the price!
It would be remiss of me not to add that, Govee customer service is simply brilliant. Through no fault of theirs, one of the lights stopped working. After showing the customer service agent the damage I had inflicted on the light, they were proactive and promptly sent me a replacement. I cannot speak highly enough of Govee in this regard.
This my third product from Govee and I’m sure I’ll be purchasing more in the future.
