Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a nice little camera for younger children, with a decent enough resolution for them to have fun – although it clearly isn’t as good as your phone camera, for example. The photos attached to this review were taken at its maximum resolution. It can also shoot video.

The storage is enough to keep your kids happy through plenty of shots, although beware: it’s easy to reformat the SD card and then oops! (I thought “format” meant “picture format” – it doesn’t). Maybe that’s just me being stupid, though.

The colour view screen is nice and clear, and as well as taking photos and videos you can play music (through a very tinny speaker, admittedly) and games (3, including Snake and Tetris).

The camera body is simple and tough but just to make sure it also sits inside a rubbery case for extra protection; the case on mine is a smiley dragon. Nice.

Downloading photos to your pc is done via USB. My PC recognised this new device straight away; no problems there.

I knocked off a star because I think it’s a little bit pricey (35.99 at time of review) but all in all it’s still a nice little gift which should keep your little ones entertained until the day you give in, buy them a mobile phone, and lose them forever.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun little camera

This is such a cute camera, a great design that young children will love.
It can be removed from the outer case, for when they get a bit older and don’t want such a childish looking camera.
It’s got multiple functions, which will be a bit too complicated to master for the average 3 year old but it’s fairly easy to get kids to learn what each of the buttons does. So taking photos at first should be a simple matter, although my grandson was running around just snapping pictures randomly until the novelty wore off.
Well designed and comes with a memory card, so room to save loads of photos.
Hope you found my review helpful

This kids camera comes packaged in a sturdy box, together with instructions and accessories including a strap, USB charging cable and USB-A adapter for the micro SD card that’s already installed in the camera. The camera sits snugly in a nice and chunky protective silicone cover, to which the strap attaches. The cover only covers the front and sides of the camera though, as those are going to take any impact if the camera is dropped. It’s all very lightweight so should stand up to a fair bit of heavy handling.

The camera has a standard layout, with one button on the top right and a screen on the back. To the right of the screen are five buttons – four arranged together and the power button just above those. The screen is bright and the menus are colourful and very easy to navigate. My nieces and nephews have no trouble using it.

The camera itself is fairly basic. Pictures come out well in daylight but there is no flash so the camera doesn’t perform as well in low light conditions. It can’t match the quality you’d get from a phone but for kids it’s absolutely fine. It features both front and rear lenses so kids can have fun with selfies and the camera offers a variety of cartoony frames and filters to play with. On top of that a few basic minigames are included (Snaker, PushBox and Tetris). Video recording also works well.

Charging the camera is simple using the included USB cable (though you can use one of your own if you prefer, it’s a standard cable). The USB-C charging port can be accessed by removing the silicone cover, which has a cute dragon design. The micro-SD card is accessible the same way. The camera has no wi-fi or bluetooth, so photos can’t be accidentally shared. The camera appears well built, though there’s nothing really to distinguish it from other kids cameras I have tried other than that it uses USB-C rather than micro-USB. Even given that you’re paying for the micro SD card as well as the camera, it is also worth noting that there are a lot of very similar cameras out there with identical or better functionality so you can shop around a bit for the best value.

As an introduction to digital photography for kids, this is a decent little camera and with no power-hungry flash to worry about the battery lasts a good while, at least when taking photos. Video will run it down quicker. Overall I am very happy with this camera.

There’s a particular joy in watching my niece, camera in hand, chasing after our family pet, snapping away with glee. She shows me her photos, her eyes wide with pride, the images clear and vibrant. The camera endures being dropped as she moves on to her next subject, unscathed and eager for more. The device is simple enough for her young mind to grasp, yet it captures memories that we’ll undoubtedly return to with fondness on future familygatherings.
