Good piece of ki
This is a great piece of kit, as long as it’s understood what its used for. This is for making kindling out of small pieces of softwood – it’s not going to split large hardwood logs but that’s not its intend purpose.
But absolutely brilliant for making kindling from small softwood logs. Weirdly addictive and satisfying! Long term will save money on buying nets of kindling. I have it mounted on my shed wall and its fantastic.

This unit is very well made and of great quality. Makes splitting kindling an absolute breeze. I think the people who say it’s only good for soft wood aren’t using it correctly, I’ve just split a batch of 3 year old dried oak, some holly and some kiln dried hard wood with ease.
It must be vertically mounted and the timber inserted with the top as near to the hinge as possible (first picture) and not further down the blade (second picture). The short handle is not really needed. Highly recommend

This is great fir medium ti small size logs. They must also be dried out or the will stick and be hard to do to.

Love this kindling splitter easy and safe to use, you can get through loads of wood, I usually use old pallets, to make a lot of kindling in a really short amount of time. Love it (especially as I am not safe with an ace)
