I am so pleased to have found this product. It is easy to use and comfortable to sleep in and it’s amazing how it curls my hair and also makes it seem much thicker. As I have quite fine hair this is far better for me than heated hair curlers as they can cause damage to fine hair. Will buy again.
Easy to use
Easy to use, easy to sleep in, I use a chin strap to sleep in at night to prevent jaw sagging and it holds a couple of these in place easily, lovely soft bouncy curls in the morning
Excelle
Bought this for my daughter. She loves it. After a YouTube video she found it easy to use. I bought a second one to give her extra curls. Well worth it.
I have now used this a few times and can provide some tips on what has worked for me, hopefully it may for you too. I have long, naturally frizzy hair and get good results from this product. The item is a long satin covered foam tube with mouldable wire running through it. It comes with 2 satin scrunchies to secure your hair at both ends however you will need a large claw clip to hold it in place whilst wrapping hair around it. I was concerned that the diameter of the tube was too small and would end up creating ringlets rather than bouncy curls but this wasn’t the case.
After washing my hair I use a blow dry spray for hold and rough dry it with the hair dryer (still in some kind of neat fashion so as to create as little frizz as possible, the smoother my hair is the better the results). Once either dry or about 95% dry (sometimes I think a touch of dampness helps the curls form when they dry in place) split the hair in two and secure the tube to the top of your head. Instructions say to place the claw clip, with the heatless curling tube in it, at the centre of the top of your head, however I have found it better to place your claw clip to the opposite side of your parting to the side you’re working on and then swap I.E place it to the right of your parting whilst wrapping the left side and then vice versa (I have photographed this). This way I can wrap my hair right towards the top nice and tight rather than the clip getting in the way. Wrap in sections around the tube in the direction away from your face. I find it best to keep the hair flat against the tube as you wrap for neat bouncy curls, rather than allowing it to twist. Secure each end with the satin scrunchie and then I always pull both ends behind my head, secure with a loose large scrunchie and bend the wire of the ends upwards so that it doesn’t get in the way otherwise it comes out of place every time you turn your head and it rubs against your shoulder. I usually only ever leave in for around 3-4 hours as I don’t think I’d be able to sleep with it on but that seems to do the trick. Once you remove the tube I like to break the curls up by thoroughly brushing through with my fingers and then applying a small amount of hair oil. I have attached photos of the process and results I have found.
All in all it takes me about 12 minutes to rough dry my hair from wet and then around 8 minutes to place it into heatless curls, therefore 20 minutes from wet give or take. It’s a bit quicker than properly blow drying my hair into bouncy curls but equally doesn’t give quite as good of a finish. Minimum heat damage is a big plus though and ideal for anyone trying to get their hair longer via less breakage. I hope this is helpful to someone.
Wow!
These work. A little too well if anything. Used after washing and drying my hair. Tried doing the wrap down the sides of my face and also the unicorn style, which was comfier to me. Both ways worked really well and produced very defined curls. The issue I had is that they were a little too defined and I couldn’t get them to drop!
Comfortable to sleep in and easy to use when you get the idea. The scrunchies are also nice to use alone. All good quality and would definitely recommend to others.
Hair is nice and curly after!
I wanted to try some heatless products for my hair and saw people trying this, I brought it and I really liked how my hair turned out. I left it overnight and my hair stayed curly all day. Highly recommend
It does work!
I have afro hair and used this set after a silk press. The result was soft, waves which look professionally styled. I found it easy to use and comfy to sleep in. I can definitely recommend
It works but not easily
This is more my fault than the products, but it’s really tricky to get right. Don’t take them out until your hair is completely dry, or if starting off dry lightly spritz your hair with water. Add a drop of detangling/ leave in conditioner if you want extra soft and shiny curls.
The product feels nice quality and the print is sweet. I would recommend but don’t be disappointed if it doesn’t work the first time, keep practising
I admit, I’m no hairdresser, but I find this quite fiddly and difficult to use, despite the videos and photos making it look like a walk in the park. It moves while you’re trying to wrap your hair around it, so even if you’ve successfully secured one side, it’ll be hanging far away from it by the time you’ve done the other side, even with a clip securing it at the top of your head. I have tried several times to use it, each one being a little more disastrous than the last, but maybe that’s my lack of patience. I’m sorry, but in my opinion they make it sound far easier than it is. To top it off, they give you lovely silky scrunchies to secure your hair (if there’s any left on the tube when you’re done) but despite what it says about wearing it overnight, I simply don’t find it comfortable. It’s a fabulous idea and I can see how, if you’re good at all things hair-related, it would be a great accessory to save some time and end up with a fancy wave in your hair. For me however, it’s just an hour of my life I’ll never get back, no wave in my hair because I’ve got so annoyed with it that I’ve given up, and insufficient time to calm down before bed!
This product gives me really nice heatless curls! The first time I attempted heatless curls was with a dressing gown rope and the curls were so tight and frizzy, I looked like I had a perm! However when I tried this, I wrapped my hair around with a bit of space in between each wrap around and this gave me a lovely loose wave! Oh and rather than having it closer to my face, I had it more central and closer to my crown so it looked a little more even and not so curly at the front! I also put a silk bonnet over the top to help with frizz and they turned out really nicely. I’m looking forward to my hair getting a little longer as I think they’ll be even better then. One thing I will say is it’s just a little uncomfortable. I’m a side sleeper and do struggle with having anything on my face or head or anything while I sleep and this isn’t great for that. I did kind of get used to it, but I can’t say I’m a fan of the comfort side of things! It also tugs a little on the underneath hairs when I move around, but I think that’s due to me not wrapping my hair tightly around! All in all it’s a very good product and I would recommend!
Watch videos online to get this to work properly. Twist your hair around the rod while holding the rod in place, if you twist the rod it will unravel. Makes my mornings easy. Sometimes if I curl my hair with a curling iron in the morning and plan to go out at night I will put it in while I get ready for a revamp and leave it in until I get to my destination. Love this

Let me preface by saying I don’t typically do my hair. I didn’t grow up a “girly girl” and always tend to pony tail or messy bun my hair. I can do basic french braids, curl with a flat iron but I really hate holding my arms ups so long.
Hair type: I am half quite/Filipino. My strands are fairly thick, and the ends have been highlighted in a balayage. I tend to wash every other day.
So far, it’s easy. I didn’t watch any videos or tips and have already figured it out.
I recommend practicing on nights where you don’t have anything to do the next day. So far I have done both a dry and a damp attempt. Both good results, but different. So I think it’s important to try multiple times to get the curl you want.
I am a side sleeper & I read my kindle on my side in bed, where I flip from side to side a lot. It felt a little weird at first, but it didn’t hinder me from falling asleep. The rod itself stayed in pretty good too!
TLDR: I don’t do my hair often if at all, but I definitely will now that I have this!
Better than expected
I have previously bought the cheaper version and it was a nightmare to use. I decided to give this brand a go and it does work a lot better. The firmness of the band itself makes all the difference. The only downside is that I felt the curls were too tight and looked like I had ringlets. I’ll keep experimenting for a looser curl.
You need this!! I love how easy this is to use, and that I can pop it in and leave it until I’m ready to style my hair. I have used this on very damp hair and slept in it comfortably, waking up to beautiful results.
The other way I like to use it is by putting it in nearly dry hair and leaving it while I do stuff around the house or do my makeup and taking it out right before I’m ready to go. I usually just give it a little shot of hairspray and I’m good for the day.
FYI I do have fine wavy/curly hair so my hair easily holds a curl. I would think that if you have thicker hair or totally straight hair you might need your hair to be wetter when you put it in. You might also need hair product like gel or mouse to get the curl to hold in your hair. For me this is just a nice way to get more uniform curls and tone down the frizz of my natural hair a little if I want a more polished look.
