Great sound great picture clear and super easy to use. Wish cables were a little thinner as have to drill a large hole to get them through the window frame. Brilliant for the price. I have 3 different reolinks and no issues with any so fa

My last Ethernet camera purchase from Reolink, an RLC-410-5MP failed but just outside 12 months. However I took a leap of faith and bought two more of their RLC-510A which are shown as an upgrade. They work as expected but, in my opinion there is one small design defect that spoils the overall satisfaction: There is no detent in the RJ45 (Ethernet) socket for the plug’s retaining clip to engage with which means that the plug easily falls out unless you use some inginuity (such as insulation tape) to hold it in! They do supply a waterproofing kit for the plug which includes a small plastic foam coller to grip the cable and, presumably force the plug to stay inserted but it has very poor grip on the cable and is far from being a good, engineering solution. Insulation tape is still required. They have to appreciate that every time the plug disengages someone will probably have to go up a ladder to fix it.

I bought this as a replacement for a 4 mega pixel of the same make that had failed. To be honest, I can’t tell a lot of difference between either in quality. This camera can take a micro SD card as an extra back up. Mine is connected to an NVR so I did not use this slot. This is standard 48 Volt PoE so no extra power adaptor is required. I installed this in a remote location so PoE is a great bonus.

Picture quality is excellent and the camera is easy to adjust by simply loosening the lock nut by hand before moving, with a quick re-tighten when done.

I’ve used blink and eufy before moving to a reolink system. I bought a couple of these cameras as less important cameras as part of my system and bought the 12mp ones for the main areas. Honestly now I think these would be more than enough for the key areas.

They are crystal clear even over great distance. They haven’t had any issues so far, never drop out or anything.

Sound is also decent on them.

For 45-50 a camera these are an absolute steal.

Photo is zoomed in a bit to avoid car reg.

Installed in home office to monitor the room and patio door via POE from a Reolink NVR.
Excellent image quality. I was initially concerned I might have made a mistake pointing the camera directly at the glass doors, but in the end I particularly impressed with dynamic range as the camera copes very well with light and dark regions. Night vision is also very good indeed.
Intelligent motion detection is very reliable. Alerts filtered on people detection rather than just movement detection.
I’ve used Reolink cameras for domestic and commercial applications for several years. Hardware has proved to be very reliable and the PC and phone App software solid with a good user friendly interface. There is enormous flexibility to control the operation of the camera.

Reolink cameras and NVR’s are excellent. So easy to connect, configure and view. I’ve 7 of these around my home and garden to allow me to protect my home when I’m not there. Motion detection is brilliant, can take you a while to fiddle with it to get it right but once you get it, you’ll be happy with it.

I wasn’t sure how well this would work or how easy it would be to set up. So far it works perfectly and as expected. It was easy to set up with the hardest part being all the work getting the ethernet cable where I wanted. The app works great as well. I do not have it set up to record yet but I will be trying a microsd card first. Currently it alerts me about any motion and I can record the stream to my phone’s memory if I am veiwing it on the app. I will update this review should anything change for the worse.

I love these cameras, I have three along with muck more expensive Vivotek. These give as good a picture as the more expensive cameras though are not as reliable, failing and going back to the initial setup at times.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this an an upgrade for an 8 year old POI camera, and after having to return a different brand camera which simply didn’t work.

This camera has excellent image quality, IR night vision and works very well with Synology Surveillance Station. There is a very good video on the Reolink website which helps with installation and configuration – all ports must be turned on for it to work. This camera is fully supported in the Synology camera list, so easy to select the right settings. I use Synology motion detection, but the inbuilt camera detection is very good as well.

2 small points to note: this camera has 3 leads coming out the back – one for POE, one for 12v supply and one for a reset button (great feature) but only the POE cable has a waterproof gland, so you need to find a way to seal the other 2 from water ingress. Less importantly, the camera mount does not have a hex key lock mechanism to hold the desired position – just a large hand knob which I don’t think is as robust.

The picture is good quality and motion detection works well. Can stream to NVR software with H264

There seems to be a bug in Web GUI that doesn’t allow FTP settings to save properly but this works fine with the mobile app. There don’t appear to be any firmware updates for the 510A V2 hardware revision that I received.

Purchased this camera to keep an eye on a wind turbine, but would have many uses.

Seams well made and simple to install. POE ethernet connection as long as you have a POE+ injector [Power Supply] works well. Built in microphone is very good, good sensitivity, not HiFi but that’s not what its for. IR lights can be Automatic or Manual, limited range, but it is a small unit. Image quality is good, I had no issues with either the iPhone app or viewing it from Safari on a Mac. Camera has motion detection etc none of which I have tried, but no reason to suppose they would not work. 3 levels of image compression, and a ‘clip’ view function meaning you can define the area to watch reducing bandwidth further. iPhone app, connected to the unit without needing port forwarding set on local router, so could watch it out with the local network.

Nice little camera for money. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIf you don’t have any CCTV software that’s not a problem.
I bought a 256GB SD card and popped that into the camera. I mounted the camera and ran a single Ethernet cable to it, the other end plugs directly into my home router via a TP Link POE injector (to power the camera).
Then to access the camera you just need to scan for the IP address and view the live camera and recordings from a browser or desktop Reolink app (free). Also worth installing the Reolink mobile app (free) and then you can view live footage and recordings from anywhere.
Only slight worry is that the camera stream must be going up to the Reolink cloud somewhere but the camera’s are outside and if any hacker can find anything interesting to view then fair play to them.
Only downside is night vision could be better, when the IR lights are on faces are not clear and car number plates cannot be read. If you need good night vision, illuminate the area well and turn off the camera IR lights and run in day mode.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe quality of the camera itself is good. The resolution of the pictures and video make them useful (i.e. able to read number plates, identify faces etc).

Installation is easy. I have a PoE switch with structured cabling around the house but any Poe switch with an rj45 cable will do.

The angles are good so you almost don’t need more than 1 to get cross over coverage.

I installed mine on the soffit so didn’t need to worry too much about waterproofing.

I have SD cards in them as well as a server at home running the Reolink application. So I have a backup of footage being captured.

The software is relatively easy to use, though there is a little bit of a translation issue at times but the Reolink support is 100% recommended, respond quickly and very helpful. I’m still tweaking the sensitivity settings so can’t report back yet on any false positives. So far seems fairly consistent.

I wasn’t expecting the quality of the product to be this good for the price. Brand snobbery exists and whilst there are systems that are better you’ll be paying significantly more for not a huge amount of gain. In retrospect I maybe should have gone for the 4k ones but honestly these are perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value for money, easy to set up, good quality
