The first four years of the British Legion’s existence coincided with the economic hangover from the First World War. It was a time of mass unemployment with 2 million people out of work (out of a population of 42 million) in 1921.

Just the right size, could wear it all year round if you’re a lover of poppies like me. Great quality and arrived quickly and the money is to a good cause.
Good Quaity Item
The enamel finish on this poppy brooch is excellent and very hard therefore unlikely to chip. Although it may look fragile it is in fact very tough and durable.
Note: It should be worn with the green leaf in the 11-o-Clock Position.
A lovely Poppy Broch, well made and it's very pretty too.
The Poppy Brooch is not too big or too small, well made and pretty, has a secure pin at the back and so nice to wear especially at this time of year.
Lovely little brooch, totally represents the cause. Only criticism is that it is very fiddly to do up. Its a small safety catch…..I struggled with it for several minutes , ( I even looked at it under a magnifier to see whether the catch was damaged ) ! Probably not ideal for anyone who struggles with dexterity . Will wear it proudly over the coming weeks .
