    Great Buy
Bought these in the Prime Day sale. Great value. Easy to operate and hook up to my iPad and phone. Used them to listen to commentaries at cricket matches. The charge lasts well and sound quality is good. Very happy.

    Difficult to justify spending more
    Really good.
Make sure to try the different size supplied buds, as that makes a huge difference to fit/seal and sound quaility.

Super comfortable, and light weight….maybe not as good sound quality as ‘phones that cost 200, But I really don’t feel like I need anything better, unless you really need ANC…

..these block your ears pretty well so I don’t feel the need for ANC.

To be honest any bluetooth connection is going to be a compromise on sound quality over a hard wired headphone, so I don’t see the need to spend more, these are a really good all-round package.

    Basic but good
I have owned Samsung Buds+ and Lypertek P3s. I also own other headphones including Sennheiser HD 560S and other good gear. These are perfect for what I need: music while exercising and out and about. Sure, they don’t sound amazing, but there is no crazy hiss or distortion, and they are easy to EQ to preference. Main good thing is they are small and last for ages.

The case is basic, but small and will keep the headphones clean.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy new best buddies!
I Bought these Sony WF-C500 green earbuds two weeks ago to replace a pair of Cambridge Audio Melomania 1+ earbuds that started behaving erratically after a firmware update. After that experience, I was reluctant to spend a lot on replacements. These are absolutely amazing for the price. Well balanced sound, plenty of bass, (not overblown) very good dynamics, (plenty of “slam”) fairly smooth top end & surprisingly detailed midrange. Even classical sounds reasonable. They seem well built, with long battery life, good control ergonomics & they are paired before I can get them in my ears! They fitted me perfectly without needing to change the tips. I didn’t want ANC as I prefer to be somewhat aware of my surroundings, but these provide a fair degree of isolation anyway. The app is well designed, although the app icon is rather large, so I relegated it to a secondary page on my phone & it’s only a swipe away. I find leaving the EQ flat works for me across all musical genres. Only slight negative is phone conversations could sound a bit clearer. OK, so they’re not quite perfect, but they are uncannily involving to listen to & at this price, they’re more than good enough for the moment & an improvement on my previous buds.

Not as good as the reviews. Only buy if on a significant sale
Decent sound quality but nothing special. Could probably get the same quality for less from a cheaper brand. Comfort isn’t great either which was the biggest letdown. On the plus side connectivity via Bluetooth is excellent.

    Great product from Sony agai
Always find the sound quality from Sony earphones and headphones so good especially when it comes to price against other more fashionable brands such as Beats. These certainly don’t disappoint. Also note that any other people like me who find Apples EarPods don’t fit them these are a much better alternative

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersYou'll get much more than you've paid
WOW, that’s the fabulous pair of wireless earphones. Not gonna write about battery life and build quality as it’s completely adequate with no concerns.
As earphones are made for music, is all that matters and for the asking price you’ll get plenty of natural sound!
The sound is light and clear. Good frequency separation and response. If track has sub bass you will hear it. Mids are clear and not overlayed with bass which is great in my opinion. Treebles sound clear and not overwhelming. Sound stage is wide enough to hear difference in instruments placement. All of this makes WF-C500 great for long listening sessions.
I have a pair of Dali IO-6 headphones and I have to admit those little Sony sound very close to Dali, as they both are on the light side sound wise and surprisingly WF-C500 outperform Dali in terms of less obvious in head sound effect if you now what I mean.
They do have no ANC so not the great option if you planning to use them mainly in the city but on other side if you often using transparency mode, you’ll get similar effect naturally )
Overall the best headphones within their price and even compared to more expensive models.

The sound quality of these are amazing, they’re comfortable for long periods of time. I do a lot of travelling and so are well used and loved.
The battery life on them is incredible and way outlast my partners AirPods.
They have great background noise suppression and are fantastic for public transport and blocking out the environment around you. – something I’ve never gotten from an in ear wireless earphone.
The only downside to these are they sound muffled when using them to make calls, it can be hard for the person on the other end of the phone to hear me.
Overall I would still say these are well worth it.

    Decent sound
My first pair of Bluetooth earbuds. Finally took the plunge after years of chorded earphones. I have quite small ears so have trouble getting earphones/buds to stay in my ears!

I’ve found these to be reasonably comfortable and do stay put while walking about (haven’t worn while running). I’m pleased with the sound quality. The charge lasts quite well. These are charged through the case. The only thing I thought was that the case seems a little cheap/light.

    Overall I’m happy with them.

The headphones are excellent. Perfect clear 360 sound. But I ordered these second hand from here in Amazon and they arrived without any rubber parts that go inside your ears. I can’t figure out how to report this issue so I’m putting it here – if someone reaches out to me to solve the problem I’ll update to five stars.

    Finally took the plunge
I was reluctant to go “full-wireless, as I have multiple wired headsets and earphones, but I bit the bullet & bought these mid-range items, with which I am very pleased. They do not have noise cancelling, but now I’ve selected the correct size ear pieces, I can happily listen to music/podcasts etc whilst on a train or in other noisy environments. The sound quality is absolutely fine for me.

The battery life is OK, but not spectacular, but that’s no big deal.

200 earbuds were not for me, but these Sony items at 50 were the sweet spot for price, quality (both sound and build) & vfm.

    Absolutely amazing
I had a pair of One Plus one Z buds before the right ear stopped working. I decided to look around and see what earphones were on offer and these came up. I wasn’t too fussed that they weren’t noise cancelling, as previously I barely used it on my old earphones, but let me tell you. Even though they don’t have this feature once you put these earphones in and put the volume half way you can barely hear your surroundings, there amazing for cancelling nosie. A bit too good in my opinion.
They fit really well and can barely notice them in my ear, super comfortable. The buttons are nice and the click is satisfying and not cheap. The case it soild, I do a bit of DIY and have dropped the case a few times over 2 meters and not a scratch or problem.

Truly wireless earbuds with superb sound quality
My new mobile phone had no 3.5mm jack, so I decided to dip my toe into the world of wireless earbuds for the first time. The Sony WF-C500 received a 5/5 review in What Hi-Fi’s 2023 round-up, and RTINGs rated these highly for their sound quality, so at just over 40, I thought these were worth a punt.

Having now received them, I can say the praise is well-deserved; the sound quality is outstanding. Despite using compressed audio over Bluetooth, the sound quality is a significant improvement over the Soundmagic E10c wired headphones I had been using. The default silicone ear tips fit surprisingly well, and create a really good seal, which blocks out practically anything. Although these don’t have active noise cancelling, I can’t imagine how ANC could possible make these any better – relatives have been screaming at me all morning to take them out because I can’t hear them talking! To give some context, playing music at medium volume completely drowned out the sound of 2 vacuum cleaners running right next to me.

As for software setup, my phone detected the ‘buds as soon as they powered on, and prompted me to download the Sony app. This part was relatively straightforward, although Sony wants you to sign up for an account to unlock all the features; I already had an account, so this didn’t take too long to sort out.

Each ‘bud has a physical button that can be pressed to start/stop music playback, activate your phone’s voice assistant and more. These are easy to use, once you know the commands, and making/answering calls is a cinch – no longer will I have to disentangle a bunch of wires when trying to make a call with wired headphones attached.

In summary, I’m blown away by just how good these earbuds are. The drivers are stupendously powerful for their size, but they weigh next to nothing! In the sort time I’ve worn them, I’d also say they’re the most comfortable earbuds I’ve ever used. You can pay four times as much for premium wireless earbuds, but sound quality is subject to diminishing returns, and for 40 – 50, these are a total steal.

These earbuds may be lacking in a great number of features but they are so awesome with sound for the Money that if you are purely in it for the Music you will Love them. The isolation is good enough to block out most noise so in the price range I don’t think you would miss out on ANC of most similarly priced earbuds. These seem great.
So far I’m really enjoying these headphones. I bought them predominantly to listen to podcasts whilst I’m out walking the dog, but now I have them I will almost certainly use them to listen to music whilst I work out at the gym.
They paired very easily with my phone and the sound quality seems good. I wore them on a walk today and it was very windy but I could still hear my podcast clearly.
I did consider buying a cheaper set but I’m pleased that I opted for a more expensive pair and a trusted brand.

    okay for the price
I got these in black friday, so forty quid. If I had spent double that I would feel I had overpaid.

Pros: very light, never move while running, physical button (though it is light enough to be pressed inadvertently, you can at least adjust fit without pressing), battery life and charge time. The case is small too. Cons: The sound quality is just okay, a bid mid-centric and difficult to sharpen up with the options in the app. I am comparing to the similarly priced melomania touch and reflect flow, both of which sound better, the melomania significantly so. But they are fine for podcasts and gym.

For the price, these are absolutely amazing!
    Superb value earbuds.

Quality as you would expect from Sony – but for a little over 50 these are seriously impressive!

    The good

Sound quality (for the price) is excellent. Crisp, clear and they really pack a punch and allow you feel the music. I have the of Sony XM4 over the ear headphones which are in a different league but they are also four times the price so you would expect the sound..that said I can listen with these and they really do sound great. Equally I have the overpriced Apple AirPods 3rd gen which double the price and these win hands down for sound quality.

Comfort is very good and they feel very secure, they wont out.

No noise cancelling, they provide a reasonable natural isolation as they sit inside the ear. I use them cycling so don’t want ANC so couldn’t justify spending 100 more.

    Battery life is excellent

Good compact case – does feel slightly plasticky but quality is good and it does the job. I love the magnetic snap in place feature.

They connect instantly and the connection is rock solid as always with Sony

Two minor things I don’t like:

The buttons come up quite high so they are easy to press accidentally with a cycle helmet or in bed. The commands take some getting used to but they work well and can be disabled or customised in the app.

No way to check the battery level on the casealthough battery life is so good it’s not really a problem.

Overall, if you want great sound and comfort on a budget, and great all round quality, these are amazing value! If you like me you already have a pair of high end phones and want a pair of buds that deliver without breaking the bank, these are a great buy.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersGreat value , impressive audio , with impressively small delay
I use headphones a huge amount and have probably gone through 30 pairs in my life , including multiple Bluetooth pairs. i have had either great quality wired ones , which are great for audio , but bulky and not compatible with more modern phones.
allot of the Bluetooth headphones i have used, have been good but not great , with over ear headphones, being noticeably heavier than their wired counterparts , and the earbuds, usually having both poorer sound quality , battery life and fit over the years .

The Sony has really impressed , especially with the price i got it for , has surpassed headphones at five times the price.
They have impressive sound isolation , due to the deign and fit , which leaves no real need for noise cancelling,
Speaking of the fit , is is again impressive as i have worn them for several house with little or no discomfort , but can become loos when either eating or through intense exercise (it has been fine on normal running or jogging)
Sound quality is impressive , and can be tailored though the app to optimise for whatever your use is , from movies to music and more , there are custom profiles .
There are features like personalising to your ears , but does require being connected with several music services , which all seem to be pay per month so i opted out .
Battery life has been excellent , i would say i average 15-7 hours, but might be due to louder volumes , more use of buttons to pause and change volume , but much more impressive than previous headphones

finally connectivity has been pretty easy , with the pixel six, and my acer laptop was as simple as turning on my Bluetooth, with other devices might be a challenge, but just hold the button on the earbud for several seconds and should be fine . there will always be latency with Bluetooth , but i would say so far has been unnoticeable , even for extended periods such as films , or tv series
i have to experience with games so cannot comment .

    Pros
    Battery life
    audio quality
    connectivity
    comfort
    value

    cons
can be tricky for intense exercise
some features can require using a paid audio service (but none of the essential features)
there is a slight latency which might be inconvenient, but never affected me

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersSurprisingly good sound, after some setup
UPDATE: 2 months later, the buds started working unreliably, had to return them.

I bought these to replace a pair of Bose Sport earbuds, that finally died out of warranty. I felt aggrieved of buying another set of Bose earbuds, having had two sets of earbuds fail on me in 4 years (in contrast to their over ear headphones which seemingly last forever). Unfortunately, the earbud market seems to have moved on, so that every bud offers noise cancelling (which hurts my ears and isn’t great for running), so I was limited in choice for earbuds without cancelling. Fortunately, after a bit of research, I found these old Sony buds.

The first things I noticed were the lack of wing tips to keep the buds securely in your ears (concerning), the small size of the case (fantastic), and when I put them in my ears, the rubbish sound quality (disappointing). I thought that I may have made a mistake. Fortunately, after a bit of learning to trust the earbuds, I found that they never fell out of my ears, even when running. The case size meant that I got even more use out of the buds, they now go everywhere with me. And most importantly, when I got myself set up on the Sony app for the earbuds, there was an excellent tool (a bit like an optician test where they say, do you prefer sound style 1, 2, or 3, then keep narrowing it down) that allows you to fine tune how the earbuds sound. They now sound great.

There are still compromises, especially as (on sale at 45) these buds cost about a quarter of the Bose buds. But I can take things like poorer call quality, microphones, etc.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersGood for the price
Best headphones I’ve been able to find at this price point and I’ve tried at least 9 pairs around 50 quid, the app is also easy to use. I listen to everything from death metal to rap to classical and everything sounds good. Bass is good but not overpowering compared to a lot of budget buds and can be controlled in the app to your taste.

Buttons are a bit of a love/hate relationship as it’s easy to accidentally turn them on in your pocket. However that also means it’s easy to pause and unpause music too

If you have low volume then try messing around the Dolby Atmos settings on your phone, I was able to increase the volume of mine significantly. Definitely worth a try if you are looking for decent earbuds.

I use these headphones for everything from the gym to the office. They have comfortable, produce great sound quality for their price point and are very durable. I bought some Cambridge Audio headphones previously which were a slightly higher price point, but found these constantly slipped out of my ears when exercising and the charging holder was also way more awkward on the move.

The pill shape charging holder on these Sony headphones is awesome. Also being USB C, I can take a single charger to the office and charge my headphones, Macbook & Samsung phone at various points throughout the day.

This is a great pair of brand-name, budget option wireless earbuds. The value for the Sony quality is excellent even if it doesn’t have all the features of the higher model lines. They do take some time to adjust to your ears and may feel like they are falling out at first. My biggest gripe is hitting the stop/play button on the right bud when removing it – imagine finding your podcast not in the same spot you thought you left it! App associated with it is functional but a bit basic.

Just a warning though that the orange colour is actually a very girly pink, not what i was expecting at all , but doesnt bother me enough to send back. Battery life seems really good too. I mostly listen to music at the gym an audiobooks in bed before sleeping and these serve both purposes well. They are comfortable to wear when lying on my side in bed but annoying mly the button does sometimes get pressed by the pillow pausi g it but this is a monor annoyance – i would rather there were no buttons at all on them. They dont fall out when running etc. Good buy for a decent price.

Golden Review Award: 195 From Our UsersGreat product, built to last!
I was given a pair of these 2 years ago as a present and love them so much that I bought a pair for someone else’s birthday. PLEASE BEAR IN MIND: these photos are after 2 years of daily use so they look a little battered! Obviously they arrived pristine 🙂

For reference, I use these twice daily: one 1-3 hour use with a single bud, and one 1hr use with both buds), and once or twice a month for 4-5 hours with both buds. They have definitely risen to the challenge.

    1. SOUND. I’m not a music buff so don’t know how the sound quality of these would compare to more expensive or professional products, but I’ve found they produce well-balanced music at a high quality (i.e. no tinny sounds, decent bass) and no voice distortion in spoken word. I mainly use them for audiobooks and they’ve been excellent. If I’m in a noisy environment (I’m talking cooking with the extractor hood on, or the footie on TV husband-based commentary thereof, not a full-blown concert or anything) they do a great job of blocking out the room noise and delivering my own noise straight to my ear without having to have the volume deafeningly high. They’re not really noise-“cancelling”, but they negate enough of the unwanted noise for it to not be a distraction, and work well for my own purposes.

    2. DURABILITY. As I say, I’ve had mine for 2 years and they have been put through the ringer; 90% of their use is outdoors on dog walks. I live near the beach so they have been dropped in the sand and dirt, sat loose (i.e. out of their case) in sandy pockets, generally been battered about and abused and they’re still working perfectly. The flexible in-ear parts can be easily removed for cleaning, if needed.
The recesses in the case can be a bit fiddle to clean (though I’m not sure you’d normally ned to as I’m sure most people will treat theirs far better than me!) but a cotton bud and a quick blow and they’re perfect. The case itself is nice and sturdy and, even though I have the white version it still looks in good nick, especially considering the amount of dirt it’s been dragged through.

    3. BATTERY. When you first take them out of the case, a voice tells you “battery fully charged” / “battery, about X%”. I use mine for on average 2 hours but up to 5hrs at one time before popping back in the case and I’ve never had a low battery warning (I’m assuming there would be one in-ear if they got low). Very occasionally I’ll get a “battery about 70%” warning in which case when I get home I pop the case on charge and forget about it, but battery just hasn’t been an issue for me and I’ve never heard lower than that. I can’t tell you how quickly they charge because I’ve never had to time it but the case is always fully charged after around an hour I’d guess.
The ‘case as a charging unit’ is a fantastic design feature and really useful when on the go. The metal charging connectors have never once failed, despite all the dust and dirt they’ve been dragged through. The magnetic areas mean they snap back into the case perfectly every time, and they’re definitely secure in there, even with the case open. They also snap together if they’re loose, which is useful if you’ve dumped them both in your pocket!

    4. COMFORT. As they are relatively large, I’m surprised at how well they fit & sit in the ear. The only time I notice them wiggling loose is if I’m gardening and spending a lot of time jiggling about with my head lowered. And even then, a quick press and they’re back in place. With normal, upright behaviour they stay in place for hours. They are comfortable enough that you forget they’re there.

    5. CONTROLS. I tend to just use the right one (I’m a woman walking alone so only have a single earbud in) which has the pause/play/skip chapter/answer call control. It’s a big old button (so very easy to use/no chance of missing it), works quickly, and when you restart it will usually rewind a second or two so you’re not missing anything. A long press skips forward to the next chapter/song. If you’re listening to something and a call comes through, it knows to pause your music/book and automatically resume once you’ve hung up, so no faffing about digging out your phone again. Left earbud is volume control (single press: volume up / long press: volume down) and, again, is responsive and doesn’t race through the volume levels too quickly, so you’re able to adjust easily.

    6. OTHER POINTS. Bluetooth setup was quick and easy (both on phone and laptop), and it connects quickly (another voice in your ear tells you “bluetooth connected/disconnected”). Charging is quick and simple: orange light on the earbuds when charging / orange light on the case and earbuds when plugged in to a cable. When first removed from the case the buds flash blue twice to show they’re on and working, then some more blue flashes to show bluetooth connection status. There are various other flashing/colour combinations to indicate different things which are listed in the paperwork if you’re interested. There’s also some 3D sound system you can download (I never explored this) so I’d imagine you can tweak the levels if you want to. The case design is lovely; it’s smooth and rounded and feels pleasant in-hand.

IN SUMMARY: these are excellent. As I said, I’m no professional sound person, but if you want something that gives you solid sound quality, and will stand up to everyday use and abuse I would *highly* recommend these. They’re a good price for a quality little product and they’re definitely built to last.

I bought these for my wife, who was becoming frustrated by all the wiring of her iPhone earphones(!)
She really likes these buds, they have given her the freedom to move around without the phone and all the old wires. In addition she tells me the sound quality is excellent, and even though she likes her music loud, I cannot hear a thing even when I approach her: this does mean she can’t hear me either, so be warned, try to approach from the FRONT!!!!

I bought these a few days ago due to reviews saying how good they are. They fit my ears perfectly. Sound via Bluetooth on huawei p30 pro & samsung tv is truly excellent. Connected without issue and now auto connect when removing from case. App allows fine tuning. They have not fallen out at any time. The black ones had a 2 week wait so I ordered the orange (peach really). Less chance to misplace. The 10hr + 10hr case recharge is accurate. Very happy, try them guys

Have been using these for over 3 months now, having used wired ear buds for many years before that, connected to my phone’s audio jack. Larger than I expected, but using the smallest size silicone tip, they fit nicely into my ears. Too big / uncomfortable to leave in the pillow-side ear bud when lying in bed listening to an Audible book. The buds stay in my ears when I am out walking. I don’t jog, so can’t comment if they would fall out in that scenario. Battery life seems good. I have only had the buds telling me the battery was low on one occasion. The charging case fits nicely into a pocket. Not having a wired connection to your phone gives much greater freedom of movement. Not so good for phone conversations as people say I keep breaking up. I can hear them okay though. I love them so far.

Presumably most people will know already, I didn’t thought I could pair tv & listen to the volume independently at a volume that suited myself, unfortunately when paired & connected tv is muted

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNot the greatest but for the price you can't argue with them
I bought these as a kind of “throwaway pair”, ie. I have the more expensive over ear Sony wm3s but wanted something for work and travel so not too worried of something were to happen to these. Sounds is decent, though you need to adjust it with the app to suit yourself. They are not noise cancelling but they are a good fit and so filter alot of the sound out through this.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWould recommend - very comfy, good battery, what I wanted
I bought these as a treat for myself. I’d never used wireless headphones before. I like gummy headphones so I don’t like standard Apple earphones. I was pleasantly surprised by these. They are incredibly comfy. Fit into my ears really well. I used them travelling and the battery was incredibly long. The case is small but big enough that you won’t lose them. Easy to charge. I just wish the charging cable was a little longer but they’re lightweight so they’re fine just dangling. Really good sound quality. I like my music loud but the volume doesn’t need to be on the highest for these. Can easily pause and skip songs and adjust the volume. Would recommend

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersGood Value Earbuds, Working well after 5 months
I recently purchased the Sony WF-C500 True Wireless Headphones, and I am thrilled with their performance. These headphones are a great addition to my daily routine, and they provide excellent sound quality.

The battery life is impressive, lasting up to 20 hours with the charging case, which is perfect for extended use. The earbuds fit comfortably in my ears and stay securely in place, even during exercise.

The touch controls are intuitive and easy to use, allowing me to adjust the volume, skip tracks, and answer calls with ease. The sound quality is excellent, with deep bass and clear treble.

The charging case is compact and easy to carry, providing a convenient way to recharge the headphones while on the go. The earbuds also automatically power on and connect to my device when taken out of the case, making them very user-friendly.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the Sony WF-C500 True Wireless Headphones. They provide excellent sound quality, long battery life, and a comfortable fit, making them a great choice for anyone in the market for a high-quality pair of wireless headphones.

Golden Review Award: 69 From Our UsersBest wireless buds under £100
Absolutely great buds for the money, I have listed all the pros and cons I could think of in my time using them. Hope it helps 🙂

    Pros:
    – They are the best sounding wireless buds I have tried under 100.
    – Sony app is very useful with plenty of EQ adjustment for those that need it.
    – Buttons! They have buttons, rather than the more commonplace touch panels.
    – Plenty of bass when wanted, but only when adjusted within the EQ app.
    – Comfortable when worn during exercise and when worn for long periods of time.
    – Call quality is good and clear. Mics pick up your voice well enough.
    – You can listen to music and take calls with just one headphone out of the case if you want to.
    – Bluetooth connectivity has been rock solid.
    – USB C charging port.
    – Did I mention they have buttons?

    Cons:
    – Buttons are not mappable to different functions, so you are stuck with the default button functionality.
    – If the shape does not fit your ear they will be sadly useless, I have quite small ears and they fit fine. Just something to be aware of.
    – There at functions within the app that are specifically for certain streaming apps, if you don’t use on of them, you can’t use the feature. Bit dull that it’s always on the EQ screen but doesn’t affect the user experience.
    – No noise cancellation, but as they are in ear buds they have a large amount of noise cancellation by design.
    – When first playing some music if you want a bass heavy headphone you may be put off. Just remember you can turn the “Clear Bass” (Sonys version of a bass boost) all the way up to 10 and it won’t distort.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersFor the heads
It’s a funny one, these aren’t for your general person that just wants some convenient feature laden wireless earbuds. For the same money you can get ANC/Transparency mode, wireless charging and long battery life from other brands. None of which I’m arsed about, if they do something else, and in this instance, it’s sound amazing and a achieve a good fit!

They sit really nicely in the ear and rest against it comfortably. You get a great seal with the different size tips as the head they attach to isn’t too wide like other earbuds. Passive noise cancelling all day long for me over ANC. They have a secret transparency mode built in too, you press pause and take them out of your ears and have a proper conversation with the person trying to talk to you, simples!

Where these really start to sing is when you connect them to the Sony Headphones app. The preset EQ’s are quite good but there’s loads of YouTube videos out there with great custom EQ suggestions. This trumps any of the above issues that people moan about with these, they sound amazing. That’s one of the main reasons I buy audio equipment.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersGreat clarity, customisation and comfort. But lacking in volume.
These earbuds are great for clarity and customisable sound preferences but lack in volume. I need to listen to my music at a highish volume because I’m a musician of around 20+ years and my ears have been subjected to alot of punishment over that time.

You can easily customise the eq to your preferences which is a main selling point for me personally as a musician and overall audiophile. I have to be able to tweak to taste otherwise it’s a deal breaker for me.

The buds are extremely comfortable and after having them in for a short while, you barely know they’re there.

They are worth the price but lose a star because of lack of volume.

Definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an affordable decent pair of earbuds and they are a less expensive route if you are a first timer in the earbud domain.

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersGreat earbuds
These earbuds are great so far. I’m not a snob with my earphones, I just need something that has a decent battery and sound quality. So far this fits the bill perfectly.

They are the comfiest earbuds I’ve had and fit nicely in my ears which is something I’ve struggled with.

The noise cancellation is good enough that I can hear bits of traffic next to a noisy road but walking on a quiet street I won’t hear a thing unless its up close.

The battery has lasted about 10hrs and I’ve had them on all day doing things about the house which is great as my last pair only lasted four hours.

Sound is great, I’m sure there is better but for 50 I’m not about to complain and I’ve bought enough cheap earphones to know these are the best sound quality I’ve had.

I got these from Amazon warehouse and there wasn’t a thing wrong with them so that saved me nearly a tenner which is great.

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersExcellent for the price. Small and comfortable
As well as these wf c500 I also own the wf 1000xm4 and the linkbuds s.
Both the linkbuds s and the c500 are identical fit and size. The wf1000 are a little larger, but not excessively so.
Battery life is excellent on the c500 and I hit my 10 hrs early on in the recharge cycle.
There’s no ldac encoder on these just aac. So sound quality is a slight step down from the wf 1000 and the linkbud s .
It’s acceptable, but I can certainly notice a little more compression and tizz. But for the purpose if a small comfortable bud with good battery life they are perfect
No wireless charging ,nor does the base report its charge as there’s no Bluetooth in the charging base.
If you want the very best, then go for the wf1000 xm4, or maybe the linkbuds s as a second choice, but the battery life isn’t good with the s, realistically getting 4 hrs before recharge needed with anc on expect 5 hrs with it off.
As these have no and then the simplicity is their biggest strength.. at a tad under 50.
    It’s a perfect price/quality balance.

Golden Review Award: 49 From Our UsersGreat. Not perfect. But great headphones
I am by no means a headphones expert, so please take this review with a grain of salt, but here goes

    Pros:
Nice clean sound. Comfy to wear. Battery is fantastic. Headphones feel sturdy and well built. Set up is nice and easy. Connection never failed. Colour of these is very eye catching.

    Cons:
Case feels a little bit flimsy (especially the shield part that clicks open). Sound isn’t amazing, yes tweaking the equaliser and levels via the Sony app helps, but the sound isn’t a bassy or as deep as I’d hoped it would be. Controls are very very sensitive, if you’re buying these to wear to fall asleep with, and you lie on your side.. don’t the pressure on the headphones will cause the volume to change and/or the track to change – I’ve also found it very difficult to put these into my ears / take them out without hitting the buttons.

    Would I recommend these? Yes.
Are they worth the money? Yes.
Would I recommend these to someone who wants utterly fantastic headphones? No.

    7/10

Golden Review Award: 43 From Our Usersthe little earbud train that could !
hese had been on my watch list for over a year, and when the price come down I took the grab, the Sony WF-C500 are a little powerhouse, firstly they are well packaged in recycled material which is eco-friendly, congratulations to Sony for this innovation.

The wireless earbuds are well-built and feel durable only time will tell, the sound quality is superb despite the lack of noise cancellation there is a lot of clarity, the addition and implementation of DSEE ( Sony technology)is an added advantage as its ability to restore losses from compression. The earbuds can also process Apple AAC codex apart from common SBC codex which is another plus. The earbuds are also Sony 360 reality audio capable which can be compared to Dolby atmos or DTX.

The earbuds come in a nice pocket-sized capsule which is able to provide 20hrs charging with each Earbud able to provide 10hrs respectively of listening when fully charged (endurance test not yet done). The only downside with the charging case it’s not able to show in-app how much it has or on the device. The controls on earbuds are easy to grasp L controls the Volume up/down, R controls tracks forward/previous. The earbuds are ingress-rated IPX4 which makes them suitable for outdoor activities as they are splash and sweat-proof rated against. The earbuds come with a USB-C to USB-A cable would have been better if it was USB-C to USB-C cable as that’s the new normal

the companion app by Sony is a plus as it allows for EQ changes, firmware updates and is able to monitor battery levels on each of the earbuds.

the pricing was very reasonable and my take is in the price range these are the best wireless earbuds one can get, and plus these were given 5 stars by WHAT HI*FI in November 2021.

Golden Review Award: 41 From Our UsersAward Winning headphones from Sony. Impressive sound quality
These arrived yesterday and I’m impressed. I’ve not had wireless headphones before (I’m 47 and used to old school Sony Walkman tech), but I thought I would take the plunge with these as at 60, it is not too much to pay if I lose them or don’t get on with them. What Hifi award winner.

I am going to use them for commuting on the underground, and travelling etc.

And I am quite impressed. I got them in white so they are easier to find than in the black finish (if they fell on the floor for example). They only work with iPhone not Android (I believe other colours work with Android).

They claim to last 10hrs from a full charge and 10hrs from being charged using only the case.

There is a Sony headphone app and this was vital to get the right sound balance for me.

I have listened to my favourite tracks from YouTube, and got them to sound very good. There is enough bass, which is what I was worried about. They sound immersive, atmospheric and produce a rich, balanced sound. Channel steering is very accurate.

They are reasonably comfortable, and block out loads of background noise because they are a tight fit in my ears.

I haven’t tried any other brands, but these had solid reviews for the price, so I think they are a good choice, especially if sound quality is your priority like me. Recommended.
