Does what it’s supposed to do!
We like the bright green colour of wire so we don’t trip over it! All good works as it should – happy with my purchase as saw the same one in Morrisons supermarket UK and it was 4 dearer than here.
Excellent produc
Exactly as described. Ignore reviews who said it was cheap and chatty looking. Looks nice and is well made and sturdy Exactly Lengh I needed to reach the bottom of my garden to cut the grass. Would highly recommend.
Excellent value
This reel lead is specifically used for high wattage and heavy draw mains items of which my portable compressor is one. To get the best result, I always comp,Evelyn unravel the lead, which occasionally can lead to tangles when rewinding. Not this one, the rewinding is smooth if a bit stiffer than I’d prefer, but it feels robust which is obvious by its weightier nature. In use it performed as one would expect of a heavy duty lead, which is more than adequate. Overall a bit heavier than the standard, but it will meet the performance needs of heavier mains draw tools without wondering if you’re going to burn the house down. Very good indeed.
Winds up easily
Easy to use, a good length cable with two sockets to plug in appliances. I fell out with my previous extension lead as it kept trying to knit itself into a cats-cradle every time I wound it back up. So far this one appears to be well-trained and winds up in an orderly fashion when I just turn the handle without tying me in knot! Good design case that makes unwinding and winding easy. Substantial enough to use outside.
Convenient and durable
We bought this to use outdoors with our electric mower as it couldn’t reach the bag 5 meters of our yard.
The cable reel is very convenient as you can simply unroll the amount of cable needed and leave the rest on the reel. The cable is easy to wind out and in again and we haven’t had any jamming or tangling so far. Two sockets available if needed and built in safety features. The price was the best I could find on Amazon or in local shops.
Great extension cord, but beware the rain covers
I needed a new extension cord for the garden to reach the end for trimming the wild foliage and getting the strimmer to do the edges of the lawn. Given the British weather, I opted for something more apt for persistent drizzle. This fits the bill perfectly.
It reels in and out well, with the two openings causing some confusion every time, in fairness. The winding is fine and smooth with some care needed on threading the cable back in so it doesn’t bunch up to one side.
The covers are firm and stiff, but this gives some confidence for keeping the socket dry. That being said, some plugs are too big and as a result of these covers, simply don’t fit in it. My electric smoker has had to move closer to the external outlet to be used (wafting smoke into the kitchen every now n then), so buyer beware if you have a large plug that goes up over the single pin at the top, this may not work for you.

Not much to say about an extension lead! It works, and it’s easy to uncoil and reel back in. Good length, and a visible colour, even on grass.

18m size is cheaper than the 15m.
Rewinds very easily without jamming (unlike another brand i own).
2 sockets seems enough, i normally use 2 drills, one for drilling, the other as a screwdriver. I’ve never used another socket as well.
I have had an 15m & then purchased an 18m and a 20m uprated one which is for external use aka outside, there is confusion with the two “in door” use ones, they say that as a legal requirement, it’s about like on car side mirrors the manufacturers put, a disclaimer, saying objects may be closer than observer or something,like the coffee is hot on the paper cup at Gregg’s or Starbucks etc,
You CAN use the unit outside, as long as it’s dry, so some simple common sense and it’s safe, an Rcd
Plug, starting from 10 to 20 shall make it as safe as possible, for an ext lead, also check the plug termination aka the screws for the wires inside, a nip up initially then periodically check every 6 months,
Right the unit itself, absolutely brilliant for the price, not sure how they do it, the cable conductor is 1.25mm, best to unwind it totally if plugging in a heavy load, eg a fan heater, etc,
Ergonomics, the winder needs to be free spinning, so you hold it in the right hand ( if right handed) and without letting go, you can smoothly roll up the cable, someone in the comments has said putting silicon lubricant into the groove between the inner and outer joint helps alot, I would add keeping the unit clean as well, when letting out, simply walk while letting out the cable,
The unit function and day to day use, it is robust, I can see years of service for the light or domestic user, at least ten years, if plugged in permanently like a fish pond, some patience and care is needed,
As for the professional user like myself, it’s really good, 2 outlets / sockets is not ideal tbh, the bright colour helps in both avoiding trips and damage, it really helps when there is a few of us on site,
Comparison, when compared with other brands at that price point ( except masterplug) it is alot better and worth the pound or two more, don’t risk it, it’s a hassle firstly to return and also the inconvenience of not having an ext lead when needed,
My conclusion is this brand which is British and a call away, it’s somewhere in Birmingham if memory serves, is alot better and a safe bet, I and more importantly the apprentices use them and had no problems to date of writing, the apprentices throw the units about, I have observed, so who knows what transpires
when I am not in line of sight, the units are scratched and scraped, I check the cable itself and ABIT dirty and scuffed but really good, I spend upto five times as much on pro equipment, which is glass reinforced etc, but, then status stuff is still serving me, really happy and shall recommend
Well built and very functional
Its very ideal for those who are always enrolled in DIY hobbies like lawn cleaning , car washing , interior , exterior house cleaning etc . For such hobbies this the best product you could find on amazon as the quality of wire , the roller sockets and adapter all are of very high grade . Giving you and your equipment good level of protection from electricity shocks or mishaps . I have been using it for quite a while now so it makes my work whole lot easier specially getting the cable rolling back in and the grippy sockets are the best bits i love ahout this produc
Heavy duty extension lead
Good quality and sturdy. Has two sockets and a temperature cut-out. Simple spool works well. Should be fully extended when in use. Surprisingly low price given the length and quality of the cable.
