      Re: 9 IN 1 USB-C Docking Station Dual HDMI Adapter USB C Hub Multiport with 2 HDMI DisplayPort,100W PD,3 USB A SD/TF

Great to support three 4K displays, 2 HDMI+1Displayport. Remember though that only Windows system supports the triple display, not Mac, not the fault of the manufacturer anyway. The gaming experience with multiple monitors is just fantastic.

I would not hesitate to recommend but it’s your decision.

      Multiport Docking Station!
Recently, I added this versatile docking station to my setup. It comes with dual monitor support and a range of ports for enhanced connectivity. The USB-C hub, with dual HDMI, DisplayPort, a powerful charging port, and multiple USB slots, has streamlined my workspace seamlessly. Its integration with different devices and the ability to support multiple monitors have significantly boosted my productivity. For those seeking a reliable and efficient docking solution, this multiport hub is a worthwhile investment.

A decent enough hub that covers the essentials
This hub comes in very minimal packaging, just an outer thin card box with the item wrapped inside a plastic sleeve (seems to be the biodegradable plastic, which is good to see). It gives almost no protection to the product except keeping it clean. For the money this is a bit poor.

The actual hub is much more solid, with what appears to be a metal inner and an ABS plastic outer. The ports are nice and robust and the fit isn’t too tight. Cables can be removed with one hand no problem. It’s a nice compact unit and isn’t annoying to carry in your trouser pocket.

      The nine ports are, specifically: 2 x HDMI ports, 1 x DisplayPort, 1 x Type C PD 3.0 port at 100W, 1 x USB 3.0 port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 1 x SD slot, and 1 x TF slot.

Please note that on the video side of things there are specific restrictions regarding simultaneous outputs, so read the product description carefully to ensure it suits your needs. There are less restrictions on PC than on Mac, but you should still pay close attention to the specification.

During testing all ports were up to their stated speed, except the PD ‘100W’ port, which only gave 90W at best. This is a standard performance and isn’t a problem as far as I am concerned.

The listed price is 44.98, a lot cheaper than the Apple equivalent product. For the number of ports on this and the video performance this is a decent price and far cheaper than many more famous branded products.

MOKiN Docking Station Dual Monitor, 9 IN 1 USB-C Docking Station Dual HDMI Adapter USB C Hub — Review

This USB C docking station by MOKin is very well-made. It is made from a grey metal that feels very solid. This docking station allows you to connect up to 3 displays. 2 of these at up to 4k@60Hz and one is up to 4k@30Hz. In addition to these display outputs, the dock also has 1 USB 3.0 port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 USB C PD Port & an SD/TF card slot. This is a good port selection however It would have been nice to see more than just 1 USB 3.0 port. I used this docking station heavily for around an hour and didn’t run into any overheating issues which is nice to see.

Overall, for the price of 44.98 at the time of review, this product is fairly priced vs the competition. I’d recommend this primarily to anyone who is looking for a docking station device to connect multiple external monitors to their laptop.

      Well constructed device
Overall a nicely built compact device with a very solid aluminium casing. Especially useful for some Macs which are hindered by a limited number of ports.

      Pros:
      * Compact Size.
      * 4K(60hz) DP and HDMI Outputs.
      * Dual card readers which can read simultaneously.

      Cons:
      * PD passthrough is not 100W Charging, it is 85W (Listing states 100W, then 87W, then 85W all in different places).
      * Would have preferred a detachable uplink lead.
      * USB-C speed limited to USB 3.0 speeds of 5Gbps even when used in isolation – No 3.1 support.
      * Mac is limited to 1 extended display even when using M series Pro/Max Chips.

A tad pricey but good range of ports for displays
This is a review for the Mokin MOUC0304 9 in 1 USB-C docking station (44.98 at time of review).

I have two computers that can make use of this dongle – my personal MacBook Air M1 and my work’s Surface Laptop.

It’s fine on the Mac – it gives you USB-A sockets for 1 x USB-3 and 2 x USB-2, a micro SD and full size SD slot and 2 x HDMI and one full size DisplayPort. On M1 – you can only output a single external display (or multiple repeated). If having the choice between DP and HDMI is a consideration then this might be useful to you.

On Surface this is a much more useful device. My Surface came with the official docking station – which is a clunky box with its own PSU and related cables. With this dongle I can plug in multiple monitors, external keyboard and mouse and power it using through the USB-C port on the device. It’s worth it to reduce the clutter!

This is a tad pricier than the competition however the addition of DisplayPort probably factors in. Add to the fact that Mokin is an established brand – this is a good buy and you can’t go wrong if it ticks the boxes for you.

Good item but perhaps a tad pricey.
This is a nice, neat, multi-function hub.

The main body measures around 11.2cm x 4.7cm x 1.6cm and is finished in a silvery-grey plastic. The bulk of the ports are along the sides with only the display port located at the opposite end to the cable. Overall it is of quite nice quality and feels robust.

The cable is approximately 24cm long and is of very good quality with thick sheathing along its full length. Extra protection is provided just at the point where it enters the main housing. This is a vulnerable point for all such cables and this extra support will protect it against damage.

With one exception I had success with all the devices, cards etc that I connected to it. Everything worked exactly as it should. My only failure was in trying to set up a multi-display configuation for my PC. I tried and tried but could not get it to work. However, I suspect that my lack of experience was mostly to blame, although I do think the instructions could do with being a lot more detailed.

In considering a star rating I felt 4was fair. The manual could be a lot better and the hub seems a little pricey to me @ just under 45. Despite those criticisms I still feel this is a very good product that dramatically increases your device connection possibilities.

A docking station that does it all, and then some
This thing is pretty damn extensive, and has a load of inputs. More than I’d ever need, but I’d rather have too many ports than not enough!

Cannot tell how this would actually perform if you loaded up every single port with devices – I can’t think any people that would actually need that.

It works for what I need it do and the big plus – I can hot swap it from my Mac to my PC without any issues, Very pricey though – I think this is selling more than what anyone can possibly need.

      Awesome doc
Have been having issues finding the right product for my needs. Because I have dell screens I needed a double DP doc. Wasn’t sure how good this was until I received it. Metal casing loads of ports including 2x DP, 1xHDMI, 3 x USB, 1 x type C and card reader Buy it with confidence.

Very capable docking station at a good price
The Mokin Docking Station has seamlessly integrated into my laptop based workstation, enhancing my overall experience, especially when paired with the Samsung G9 monitor.
The dual HDMI ports and DisplayPort capabilities effortlessly drive the Samsung G9, with no compromise delivering stunning visuals.
At the time of writing, this device was the most competitively priced unit that delivered a 4k @120hz option but you are definitely getting a premium item here.

The convenience of 12-in-1 functionality ensures all my devices connect effortlessly, creating a clutter-free setup.

The Ethernet connection guarantees stable internet access, and the 100W PD charging capability is an excellent fast charging option.

The four additional USB ports and SD/TF card slots cater to my peripheral and storage needs, easy access and keeps everything tidy.

The usb c connecting cable is a little short but not an issue for me as the device can still slot in under my desk and being a small size, it’s almost invisible.

This docking station is very capable and has truly elevated my productivity and workspace aesthetics.

Plug n Play No fuss Docking Statio
Only had it a couple of days, but so far, excellent. Plug in and recognised 2 extra HDMI monitors staright away. Desktop expanded across 3 monitors (not duplicated), replaced a clunky old Dell docking station. All ports working, ethernet & VGA handy to have. Very happy with it, lightweight and good small size, tucks out of the way.

Great! Gets a little hot though
I have have been using this for a few months now and it’s still doing its job just fine!

      * 1Gbps ethernet works well delivering the advertised speed, be aware of other models that offer 100Mbps as now that full fiber is common place, if your broadband speed is over 100Mbps, it will act as a bottleneck and you won’t get the best broadband speed you can. There is no such issue with this unit though!

*Be aware that this unit is made from aluminium and tends to get very hot when in use. Not a problem, just an observation.

      * over all, I have not had an issue with this using 2 monitors, USB or ethernet and it has performed extremely well given its price tag.

I would not hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone looking for a reasonably priced USB C docking station alternative. You won’t regret it!

      Had a good ru
Great alternative to play the Steam Deck on a bigger screen. That was until my wired controller no longer wanted to work along with my wired keyboard and mouse. The lights turn on them when connect, then turns off. My controller vibrates when I connect it. Sometimes it works for a split second then stops. Sometimes the lights flicker as if there’s a lack of electricity going through them, making the connection very unstable and unpredictable. ()

I’ve tested my controller, keyboard and mouse on other devices and they work, so they aren’t broken. Same for testing different controller to the Dock, still doesn’t work. So I’ve been having to use my PS4 controller wirelessly and use the onscreen keyboard.

It was fun while it lasted, but it’s too frustrating when you want to play something and you can’t use anything connected to it because it refuses to cooperate. I’m not saying its a bad purchase, it did what I wanted which was to tie me over until I buckled to buy the official Dock. Hence the 4 stars. I might’ve just got unlucky with mine. _()_/

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersDid what I wanted (update with issue)
      Update 2023/09/07

Realised that the Dock appears to have an issue where sometimes the USB stack glitches. It basically turns off for a second or two, and then comes back again. At first I thought it was a problem with me running Windows off a USB disk attached to the dock, but then I observed it in SteamOS as well.

I’ve now checked with a bog standard USB hub I have, and have not observed the issue in either Windows, or SteamOS which to my mind rules out the Steam Deck itself as having the problem. And points to the Dock.

So now I’m left with the dilemma of just returning and getting another one, trying to deal with support to sort the issue out, or returning it and just getting a completely different Dock.

Screenshot is the Kernel output from SteamOS. At 32 seconds past, you can see all the USB devices disconnect (SATA SSD, mouse, USB Key), then over the next 2 seconds the Dock USB reappears, and devices are discovered again. Note I am powering the Dock with a 65W PSU, not the official Steam Deck with 45W.

      — Orig review —
I needed a dock for the Steam Deck that had USB 3.1 10Gbps (for NVMe speed as I boot Windows off a external disk) , and could output to either HDMI or Display Port (monitor at home is HDMI, monitor at my kids is Display Port). This checks both of those boxes.

Only thing I haven’t tested yet is the ethernet port as I don’t have ethernet in the room I’ve put the dock. I’ll update the review when I get a chance to check.

If I had a criticism, it would be that I’d like a little padding at the front edge where you put the Steam Deck. It’s absolutely not required, but would make me a little more comfortable.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAllows for two screens in Desktop mode
Does as it says. Allows easy docking to a monitor in its basic sense and let’s you play on the big screen. With two monitors attached let’s you expand desktop mode over two monitors (3 if you include the SD’s screen). Unfortunately I have not been able to get both screens to run at 4K60. One will (on the DP) but the HDMI will not sync, reducing it to a 30Hz refresh gets it to work fine. Cable works well with another 4k device. Not a huge issue as I have videos or webpages on that screen, just annoying.

I have 3 screens and at the beginning one of them didn’t want to connect, I have replaced the cable and it’s working like a dream. The support is also fantastic. Definitely recommend to all who are communicating and carrying the brick on the photo no. 2.

      It works.
It allowed me to conned 2 screens to my laptop using DP cables. Ishould have gone for an option with 3.5 jack connector for audio, but happy with this anyway.
If the cable were longer I could have done a better cable management as it barely reaches the back of my 16″ laptop.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersDoes exactly what I needed. Displayport runs a Samsung ultrawide
I don’t normally leave reviews on Amazon but the excellent customer service I received from the seller, I just had to.
I own a Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro X 15 which has a thunderbolt 4 port. I wanted a docking station but did not want to buy a 300+ certified thunderbolt 4 docking station. So the 8K version of this dock caught my eye.

I wanted the dock to power my laptop, run a Samsung CRG9 ultrawide 5120×1440 @ 120hz using display port, use the spare RJ45 I had available, and also plug in all the usb devices I have. I took a gamble and it paid off, this dock does all this perfectly.
I have no use for the SD card slots, since I have it mounted hidden under my desk as you can see in the picture.

Here is a run down of what is connected to my dock:
Dock cable connected to thunderbolt 4 port on Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro x 15 (data + power)
Gigabit RJ45 connected to ethernet port on dock (speedtest shows I am getting 500mb from my 500mb internet connection)
Display port connected to Samsung CRG9 ultrawide 5120×1440 running at 120hz (see picture)
USB 3.1 connected to the Samsung CRG9 USB hub in the back of the display, the monitor hub is running a Razer Seiren Mini, and the two usb ports on my monitor stand, one of which is occupied by logitech mouse dongle.
USB 2.0 x2 ports are connected to a Creative Live! Cam 2k and Steelseries RGB Keyboard.

I did have to use my laptop charger to power the docking station which also powers/charges my laptop. The dock does not get overly hot either.

This dock saved me a lot of money.

Update: 3 months later still working as it should, was having an issue with my monitor randomly getting no signal and then working again. Checked cables and found the Displayport cable that came with my monitor was at fault. A quick google found that the Displayport cable included with the Samsung CRG9 is known to be of low quality. Bought a better cable and all things working fine.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood dock- First one was faulty but second perfect.
This is a good dock for the price. I bought it because I wanted a dock with a DisplayPort output and the official Steam one was too pricey. This was less than half the cost with a similar port selection.
The first dock I received was faulty as there was an issue with the HDMI port but the second one I received works fine, not had any issues over the few months I’ve had it. Image displays fine on DisplayPort and HDMI, no dropout or black screens. All the USB ports function as they should and ethernet works fine with my 250mb internet.
I’ve knocked a star off for getting a faulty unit originally but I would recommend this dock.

      Great little product!
I was looking for a device to connect two monitors and various USB peripherals (Bluetooth keyboard mouse, speakers, camera) through my laptop. This is it! So easy to use and it even powers my laptop by connecting the laptops own charger to the USB-C input and output back into the USB-C in laptop. They thought of everything at this price point, now all I need do is switch on laptop every morning and my home office boots up as I wanted, ready for work. Now I just need to see how reliable the device is after extended use. Fingers crossed but so far (day 3) a life saver. Highly recommended.
