Really nice Whiskey in a great looking bottle. Purchased for 28 which is about right in my opinion – about 10 less than normal. Would make a nice gift if it came in a presentation box but seen as it didn’t I thought I would just drink it!
I enjoy a rye whiskey, and I’m a fan of the woodford reserve standard bourbon so thought I’d try the rye version.
But I just dont think its worth the extra money over the standard, yes its good but I want a bit more spice and more rye forwards whiskey, I much prefer the bulleit rye which also tends to be cheaper anyhow
A more characterful and rounded version of Woodford (which I think is OK but nothing exciting, this version I like much more). Its a heavier rye style (unlike Bulleit or Wild Turkey which go for the lighter style – though both are very nice), this is closer to Rittenhouse and you get a fair bit of rye chew for your money. Although for close to 50 you could get something even more exceptional, if you can grab this for around the 40 mark it’s well worth a try.
