Delicious Rye Whisky
Woodford Rye is one of the great ones. Personally, I enjoy rye whisky, but its not for everyone. Just read the description closely, this is the Rye whisky and not the original Woodford bourbon.
Good quality Rye is my favourite of all whiskies, and Woodford is my favourite of all reasonably priced Ryes.
The downside, and this is aimed at the seller, is the wildly fluctuating price. Some months the price is 28 which is great and these months I will often buy 2, however they immediately put the price up to 38 in which case whether it’s the cheapest it’s available or not I will not purchase because I’m not a mug.
The irony, is they seem to even realise their own mistake, and immediately reduce the price following a month without my custom.
Please check out my purchase history, and make up your mind if the margin on 56 a month, every month is better than every other month, because I will not pay 10 extra, just because you know I like it.
Thanks

I love a glass of this straight. It spicy and hits the spot on an evening! Prefer to many a scotch and even go to it more than JD single barrel select, target price is 28 as at may 23
Better than JD
Very nice tasting whisky, definitely better than the JD Rye. Whether it’s worth the extra 15 or so is in the eye of the beholder, but if this were on sale and JD wasn’t I’d pick Woodford Reserve Rye every time.
Nice
Really nice Whiskey in a great looking bottle. Purchased for 28 which is about right in my opinion – about 10 less than normal. Would make a nice gift if it came in a presentation box but seen as it didn’t I thought I would just drink it!
Great drop
I enjoy a rye whiskey, and I’m a fan of the woodford reserve standard bourbon so thought I’d try the rye version.
But I just dont think its worth the extra money over the standard, yes its good but I want a bit more spice and more rye forwards whiskey, I much prefer the bulleit rye which also tends to be cheaper anyhow
This is truly exceptional
I’ve enjoyed Woodford reserve on quite a few occasions but this is another level. It’s almost addictive, the balance is superb each sip delivers something new. Loads of complexity but super smooth too. I made a smoked old fashioned with it using cherry wood smoke and this was perfect for this. If you can but for 30 or under it’s a bargain. Not sure some of the RRPs are accurate. Normally around 35 which is a very reasonable price.
A more characterful and rounded version of Woodford (which I think is OK but nothing exciting, this version I like much more). Its a heavier rye style (unlike Bulleit or Wild Turkey which go for the lighter style – though both are very nice), this is closer to Rittenhouse and you get a fair bit of rye chew for your money. Although for close to 50 you could get something even more exceptional, if you can grab this for around the 40 mark it’s well worth a try.
Lovely and a good alternative to bourbon or blended scotch
Actually bought from ASDA for 25. Great value and really enjoyed this despite generally preferring scoth or bourbon.
A bit more of a peppery, spicy taste to this in comparison to the bourbon and provides a really nice alternative in certain cocktails.
Works beautifully in a mint julep or a whisky smash.
