As stated and quick delivery
As stated and quick delivery,
Bought to simply replace an old unit that had been in place for over 10 years.
New one just simply slides onto the old ones backing plate that is already fitted to the wall,
So simply interchangeable…..
Thanks
Simple and works well
Put the batteries included in and it is good to go. It’s got a good little test sequence and does what it is meant to. The alarm has a very loud beep.
The Carbon Monoxide alarm received appears to work well, and the sound emitted is plenty loud enough. The majority of the reviews highlight the fault light coming on when testing, this is something that I’d consider to be normal as it doesn’t persist to turn on when it flashes in regular use, rather it’s the ‘alarm’ and ‘operate’ lights which flash during usage. The Fault light turns on so that we know what it looks like is what I assume. Overall, the product is reasonably sized and can fit in most places and is easy to install with batteries, and it’s ability to mount with screws and adhesive is possible and easily done with red screw covers, so that you drill the perfect sized hole. It’s important to understand the usage of this product as it is a very important product and part of a hole where almost anything can happen. The product is safe to use when mounted or with strong adhesive strips which can be used to place them almost anywhere (ceiling or high wall), and looks simple and functional to use. Great produc
Happy
Not much can be said it’s a detector and we can only comment on its efficiency if we have a leak, which we don’t want. Looks good. Delivered in excellent time. Easy to install. Correct size for the space we had.
Good price
Good little CO detectors but strangely it was significantly cheaper to buy 2 single ones than a twin pack buy hey ho whatever and I like that these ones don’t have the stupid built in battery so are not limited if the battery fails prematurely.
Kidde 5CO Battery Powered Carbon Monoxide.
This was a really reliable item, I have found in my humble opinion. The battery life is good and good value for money. Very happy with my purchase. Recommend. A ().
Terrifying to set up! Don't panic!
When I first out the batteries in it beeped loads and flashed a red light. I thought my house must be full of carbon monoxide!
Turns out this is normal when setting up, so don’t panic when you put batteries in it!
Seems to be working well.
Simple to use mobile safety item.
This was purchased to replace an out of safety/life date on original Kidde unit, located near our central heating/water oil boiler.
This unit would also appear to be excellent unit to take with you when on holiday in a self contained apartment, B&B, or anywhere while you are on holiday.
May be a life saver.
Safety Firs
Brought this to add to my boys bedroom as we now have a working firplace as the chimney passes thru the upstairs bedroom I wanted peace of mind should it ever develop a crack or leak in any way. This ticked all the boxes and was easy to set up and install. I now sleep soundly
Great for the price
We already had one of these but it had reached its end of life so purchased another. We had previously purchased different ones in the past but they didn’t last anywhere near as long. Can’t comment on how well it works as the alarm has never gone off but I guess that’s a good thing. Came with batteries too which was handy. P
Pretty straightforward to use
Be careful when you put the batteries in this cos i didnt expect it to beep at me and nearly yeeted it across the room i thought it was the smoke alarm or something not that i hadnt even pressed the button it just beeped due to sticking batteries in i
Simple to set up
This is a simple to set up carbon monoxide detector. Stick some batteries in and away it goes. Has a long life of ten years overall. Is small and unobtrusive but is loud enough to be heard in all areas of the house. Very happy with this purchase.
Essential for home safety
These CO monitors have replaced ones that’s use date had expired. Went for the same again as the earlier ones have proved faultless and the batteries still operational at 10 years old!! Just remember to press the test button a couple of times a year. Other than this forget them and know protection against CO build up is there. 🙂
The product seems to be well made. The instructions are very clear and the two AA batteries are easy to install. I have to assume that it will function correctly when / if a CO escape occurs from my boiler combustion system. The Kidde did get a good write up in the ‘Which?’ survey.
Every year we have our gas boiler serviced, and every year the engineer asks if we have a carbon monoxide detector, and every year the answer has been no. After another mild telling-off I decided to buy one this year, and plumped for this one. For peace of mind it’s a no brainer. Easy to set up – open the back, insert the supplied batteries, put it somewhere that won’t get in the way, and that’s your lot – and it sits there silently (unless it detects a problem, in which case it bleeps really loudly), a small LED blinking once a minute or so to indicate it is watching over you. So far it hasn’t gone off, and hopefully it never will, but it’s that added peace of mind, and above all else it will mean a gold star for me from the gas engineer when the service is done next year.
You know, it’s not worth risking the possibility of having a carbon monoxide leak go undetected inside your home – the consequences could be fatal. That’s why my wife and I thought it was about time we purchased a carbon monoxide detector – in fact we bought two! We now have one in our lounge (where we have a gas fire) and one in our utility area (where the gas boiler is located).
There are many brands of detector to choose from, but we chose this well-known American Kidde model, which was actually recommended by a professional gas service engineer who recently worked on our boiler. We like this detector because it’s straight forward to set-up, install, test, and use. This is a twin pack, in each of the boxes you get:
1x detector
2x batteries
1x back plate (which you simply slide into position after fitting the batteries)
1x pack of raw plugs & screws
1x excellent guide
Once you have installed the batteries and backplate the unit is ready. Before deciding we’re to position the detector, you should test the device by simply pressing the large button on the front of the unit – if all is well you will hear 4 loud beeps, a pause, then another 4 even louder beeps, then a short beep and the unit will return to its normal standby mode. For peace of mind it’s best to test weekly. Anyway, we’re very pleased with this product – which is why I have no hesitation recommending it to fellow Amazon customers. Stay safe!
