I bought these same lights in 2017 so they’ve been well used all year round was very happy to purchase again after 6 years when the wires to the plug of the old ones disintegrated. They look amazing round my outdoor canopy which is 40ft long.
Very easy to put up with the aid of some gutter hooks. 7+ metres length is the perfect fit for the width of my bungalow. Plenty of wire between the string of lights and the mains plug. White lights are cool, prefer these to lots of colour and I don’t like the scary ‘blue’ lights, nothing Christmassy about those! Didn’t use the flashy facility, prefer ‘steady on’. Dangling icicle lights can easily tangle so go careful when putting away. I wrap them around a piece of cardboard to make for easier unravelling next Christmas.
Couldn’t believe the price for the amount of lights. 17m- just what we needed to run the length of our hedge. We have the lights plugged into a smart plug so don’t use the timer function. The only annoying thing with the lights is that we have to click through the functions to static every time we turn them on as they always go on random and we like all our lights to be static.
But for the price you can’t really complain.
The settings are easy to do because there’s only a single button set on the plug. To use the timer function, simply set it going at the exact time of the day you want it to start. Stays on for 8 hours, then off for 16. There’s a variety of settings for flashing, wave, fade, etc, I just left mine as ‘on’ and they looked great.
They have one minor let down – even though the lights are outdoor lights, the plug is not able to go outdoors. So you have to find a way to run the plug into an indoor socket. For those who have an outdoor plug, like I do, you will clearly see that the plug they come with is not insulated/protected enough for outdoor use.
I read a lot of reviews on this make before purchasing, and there was some criticism about rust spots appearing by/around the bulbs. When I took mine down, there was no evidence of that. I’m hoping that storage for a year won’t make any difference on that issue. We’ll see.

Lights are like their image, little stars when set on permanently.
Only negative comment would be that all the lights are on the hanging strings and none are on the horizontal cable.
The things I liked about this product, they were exactly what I was looking for in terms of colour and style. A wide range of settings for the flashing lights. I’d definitely reccomend measuring how long you need the lights to be first because we ordered lights that were too long and the excess wire was an inconvenience however that was my fault entirely. On a positive note to that, if these aren’t the right size, there are many other lengths to choose from. What I didn’t like about this product is that there were no clips included for hanging the lights outside and there is no setting where the lights can be switched off therefore you have to just remove from the plug which can be a nightmare for some people especially me as it is difficult to take plugs in an out all the time from behind my tv stand.
I bought these lights 29th Nov 2018 and they worked brilliantly. They looked fantastic. In 2019 they also looked excellent. Just put them up today 27th Nov 2020, and they don’t work.
This is not even 2 years of working.
Hesitations: Longevity – how they will winter the first winter and successive winters. Storage – They will never ever go down to the size box they were delivery in and come the next year the potential to spend hours unravelling meters of knotted wire. At this time I think that the quality of the wiring is such that they are inclined to be tangle resistant. The passage of time will tell, thus the four stars at this stage. At this time (day two after the install) I am pleased with the purchase and the result of the purchase.
We tested the lights before putting up (35mt) and found an intermittent fault, which is one of the wires going into the transformer is broken. We have to move the wire to get it to work. Clearly we don’t want to take it down to put back up a new set but are very concerned that the one set won’t last for future years. What do you suggest?

These replace a set of Tesco LED lights from last year. The Tesco ones worked okay however around 10% of the lights stopped working before Christmas was over.
Its early days however these lights arrived very quickly are very white and bright, which is great (the Tesco LED’s were more yellow).

The range of programs is good and as usual the first program if left will cycle through all the options in order. This set of lights will also ‘remember’ which program you use, for example if you like the ‘always on steady’ program and have the lights on a timer, it will remember the past program used. Handy.
Overall, I am impressed with my purchase – the price was good (cheaper than Tesco) but time will tell!
The Tesco’s lights have been relegated to the back garden on the garage. I have high hopes for this set – hopefully they will be back on the front of the house next year!
