My daughter loves her electronic pet. Easy to set up and use. Need to feed & care for pet, can go into “sleep” mode for school etc but it can get sick or die if long time left. Does spawn a new one.

Bought as a gift for a family member, thought this would be great as used to have them when I was younger. Has changed since then however, the same great gameplay loop exists and the product is of good quality.
I Feel Like A Kid Again!
Getting the Tamagotchi is like being a kid again back in the 90s and the “stress” of making sure your Tamagotchi is fed, clean and happy to see how old you can get your Tamagotchi is real!
It really has taken me back to being 12/13 years old with my first Tamagotchi. Thinking of getting one for my sister at some point, as she didn’t get to enjoy her Tamagotchi for long as she lost hers on a plane coming home from vacation (that’s when we got them cuz they were 10 back in ’97) But this Tamagotchi is the real deal!
Only downside to is is there is no backlight so if you’re in a dark area, you’ll need a flashlight or some sort of light to still play. I remember when I was in the car as a kid, I had the same problem waiting for lights to come by the car so I can see how my Tamagotchi is getting on.
Other than that, it’s GREAT!
A Bit of Nostalgia to Annoy My Wife
Ah the Tamagotchi. I am old enough to remember these when they first came out. People used to come into the department store I worked in back then, hoping we had stock. Sadly we did not, but I did have one annoying the heck out of me, beeping away in my pocket! And yes, these are just as annoying , but quite sweet too.
I got one for my wife for Xmas. Oh how delighted she was to have yet another thing requiring her attention on top of kids, house, real pets, etc. But she kinda smiles about it.
The system is simple and as long as you keep it near you it doesn’t take that much time to keep happy.
All you need to is keep it happy. Check the happiness and hunger levels and simply play a game (guess left or right several times) and feed it (stick with meals and no snacks). Clear its mess up when required and tell it off if it’s being naughty. Over time your Tamagotchi will grow into a bigger character and last a random number of days. How well you look after it will determine what it grows into and how long it lasts. Typical is about a week.
Thankfully the little pest goes to sleep in the evening until morning so make sure you set the time right so it doesn’t beep in the middle of the night!
Our kids help out with it from time to time. The case is fairly robust. No backlight so can be hard to see in poor light.
I think value for money is ok. I think price is similar to the good old days.
Will you play it for hours on end? Doubtful, but it’ll probably make the person smile who you get it for.
What a blast from the past!
Bought one for my 4yo daughter for Christmas and it’s exactly how I remember having one when I was younger!
We turned it on straight away and it was quite needy and I was worried it would get annoying but turns out it was good as she wanted to play with it lots to start with. It does settle down and doesn’t need as much ‘care’ after it evolves and grows up.
The controls are simple and easy to use and my 4yo got the hang of it really quickly.
Only down side is that it can be a bit hard to see the picture in some lights.

I purchased a Generation One and Generation Two re-release Tamagotchi for myself, and I’m in love. There are pros and cons to each – without my first generation, I wouldn’t have figured out the difference between food and snacks, for example – but I’ve found the buttons and overall quality of the unit is much better on this one.
Whilst it won’t change your life, I’ve found it fun to check in on my little friends, and so far – touch wood – this Tamagotchi hasn’t died. Fingers crossed, it stays that way for a little longer.
I brought the mermaid type and loved it like my old connection one I had as a kid. Shame they still haven’t brought that type out as that was the best one.
My partner brought me the yellow one about 2 years ago which I started up today along with my new mermaid one and it’s just my childhood brought back too me.
Only downside is it doesn’t beep when it has poop or when it needs medicine. It waits till last minute to beep then u can’t do nothing about it but watch it die.
So the first few days you have to look at it at least every 15-20 mins to make sure it’s ok.
You can put it in silent which I didn’t know u could when I was younger. Press the first button and the last button at the same time it makes a beep noise then it’s silent. It’s been a life saver since I found that out.
The screen is a little dark. But part from that it’s how I remembered and I love the simple ness of it all. I can feel the temptation of buying all the colors i love.
This along with the gameboy and Nintendo was the best invention back when I was a kid and always will be.
This tamagotchi was just as I remembered from my childhood. Good packaging and a colourful rainbow case my daughter loved. Instructions not overly clear so I had to check online. It is simple to use but my daughter quickly lost interest. I spent most of her birthday trying to keep it alive for her. So yes, definitely nostalgic and a good quality item, but still annoying. Hasn’t been used very often. Great purchase if you want to annoy another parent! Not recommended for your own household.
Bought myself one these as a nostalgic gift. Honestly super cute and lots of fun. My kids love taking it in turns to feed it and play with it. It’s been fun watching it hatch and we’re all patiently anticipating what it will grow in to. My son wants one now, so will purchase one for his birthday. Hours of nostalgic clean, good fun.
As described in photo, only downside was I paid for prime next delivery before 1pm. It wasn’t delivered until 7pm.
It’s an original tamagotchi exactly how you remember it.
I think it’s so awesome of Bandai to re-released the original tamagotchi and have so many designs to choose from.
It really takes me back to the 2000s when products had many color and design options to fit your own personal style.
I really miss that period of design history.
I really love the moon and shooting stars design definitely my favourite and fits my style, I’m very happy I chose this one.
I would love if Bandai would re-release the tamagotchi connect as that’s the one I grew up with and I’d love to have multiple to connect with each other but I suppose we will have to wait and see.
Overall this is a really cool piece of history and I’m so happy to see it still get some love over 20 years late
I remember as a teenager having a Tamagotchi, it was really the ‘IT’ thing at that point and I had so much fun taking care of my pet, even sneaking it to school!
So it does take me back now purchasing this one for my 7 year old daughter.
They haven’t really changed from how I remember them- the size, style, graphics, etc are all really retro in that they seem the exact same!
To some this may be disappointing, especially if you’re into high tech, top of the range graphics, etc but for me I really like it, as my daughter is able to play with something in the same way that I used to do, and she loves it too!
You need to ensure to feed it, clean its poop up, give it medicine, etc and allow it to sleep.
My daughters hatched as a duck, which is really cute!
The battery life so far has lasted really well and if it’s anything like the one I owned years prior then it will last ages!
It’s good value for money and a really nice retro gift for a loved one.
The delivery was also much quicker than initially expected, so that’s a huge plus.
This is honestly the best thing that I have ever bought. After seeing it on this thing my friend sent me I bought it on Amazon and it is honestly the best thing that I have ever bought. All of the qualities are amazing and honestly the display is really good.

All in all more pros than cons and honestly, some of the things that I mentioned I only read on the internet. The dark display is honestly not as bad as some people are making out and I cannot take my eyes away. In fact, the slightly dark display hasn’t go any artificial light so can’t harm your eyes to bad.
I have now been playing for 1 hour and 17 minutes
