Being an avoid drone pilot, my biggest issue especially in the winter is power. The batteries get drained so quickly due to the cold, and after my 3 are drained I cannot fly until I go home.

This adapter has provided me with the ability to charge the handset and the drone batteries in my car between flights or between locations.

I have found that the multi charger does not like the power output, so I can only charge one at a time.

The aluminium in casing is excellent at calling us kept the device comfortably cool throughout the entire usage. This is reassuring as I was in contact with the fabric in the car.

Although I’ve only used the charger with my DJI, USB outlets are a great asset for charging mobile devices as well. As the DJ uses the mobile phone as a screen.

Overall, level of convenience, I can’t write this device high enough. Performance wise my only concern is that as the more I use it, it might put added stress on my car and electronics, although because the device is also fused that does reduce my concern slightly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life saver when flying drone. Super convenient.

The BGFOX power inverter has worked an absolute treat in my car. I have used it for a low-powered vacuum when detailing my car. I haven’t experienced any issues with the product, no funny smells or loss of power. the USB slots also provided enough power to charge my phone, when not using the main outlet.

In summary this is a good inverter, it’s fit for purpose and works perfectly!

This rectifier is ideal for converting 12v DC battery power to 230v AC mains. It’s a fairly modest 300W, so it’s best suited to chargers, small pumps and hand vacuum cleaners. It’s particularly handy for charging devices that don’t use USB chargers, such as professional cameras or gaming consoles.

The unit is fitted with a cigarette-lighter plug. Bear in mind that your car’s accessory socket may have a 10 or 15A fuse fitted, which will blow long before you reach the capacity of the rectifier. To take advantage of the full 300W available, you’ll need to hard-wire the rectifier to the battery.

The unit is cased in a robust, aluminium extrusion.

Used in my cars when chauffeuring, charging my handheld mini vacuum. Unit also has a couple of useful USB connectors, everything I need for power on the move.
Does a good job and am very happy with it.

Happily charges my laptop at 65w while driving, really useful thing to have in the car. One thing to bear in mind though, most cars will only have a 10 or 15 amp fuse for the cigarette lighter, meaning at 12v you can only draw a max of 120-180w over the cigarette lighter before you risk blowing the fuse, double check your vehicle before using a high draw device. It doesn’t get too hot or loud, works well for a low draw device on the go.

I tested this inside a 2019 Peugeot Boxer. I plugged in a Chromebook charger and though the charging light on the Chromebook did not light up it did indicate it was charging, showing 4 1/2 hours to a full charge. It seems to be of a decent build quality in a red aluminium, with the leads, switch and plug sockets all sufficient for the use. Its quite a bit smaller than I was expecting and easily fits inside a glove compartment when not in use.

With a standard charging 240v plug inserted into the inverter it was only possible to plug one other usb accessory in as the plug partially covered the other usb socket.

I can’t see in the info whether the USB outlets have been converted up to 240v and then down to 5v but this obviously would be a large waste of time and energy.

My largest concern about any accessory socket inverter is the amp draw through the car/vans existing wires. Drawing 300w with 12volts is equivalent to roughly 25amps. This will probably blow the accessory fuse at full draw, but even if it doesn’t the chances are it’s going to warm up your wires quite a bit with a distinct possibility of melting them in extreme cases.

I am going to wire a dedicated fused outlet with much larger core wire to run this inverter, because ultimately all inverters will run into a similar problem. The ability to charge a laptop of higher draw 240v items is a great advantage, but I am just pointing out the drawbacks in case you are considering this item.

All in all, this does seem to be a decent inverter, however it could use a tweak if the intention was to use all outlets at the same time. The price does seem fair compared to other inverters and I do recommend it as it seems a good bit of kit.
Just please take into consideration how much draw you will be pulling through your wires to avoid any disasters.

This is a very nice compact unit. It has 1 x 240 very outlet. Rated at 400watts.
2 x usb type A outlets rated at 2.4 A each. So plenty enough to charge phones and tablets etc…. we use it in our motor home. It powers my laptop and charges up the phone. I like that the plug is set so the wire faces upwards…. so the unit can be flush mounted. It plugs into a standard UK 12v socket. Not a European style one. The 12v plug has a fuse fitted so if you have any problems look at the fuse first before thinking the unit is broken. Or damaged…
This works great . And does exactly what it says.. converts 12v up to 240 v.ac. and 5v usb A dc.

It works just fine. I used it in my work van to charge my laptop and various other batteries for tools. I bought this one as a cheaper option failed, that being said this was good value.

The good is that it will output quite a high level of power. Also I liked the voltmeter display, so you can see if your battery is running down.

Not so good is that the UK 13 amp socket does not have any shutters, so devices connected to it fall out easily. Also, some mains plugs are rather large, such as those plugs that incorporate a transformer, they will not phsyically fit, you need to use a 2 way cube connector or something similar. Plus the 13 amp socket is UK mains only. Many inverters these days have a multi socket so you can connect any device no matter where in the world you bought it from. I have not used the usb sockets so can’t comment on them but they could be useful.

Using it in my car, for high current drain, such as my laptop which draws 3.2 amps, i found it neccesary to connect it directly to the car battery. This is not a fault of the inverter, it appears to be a limitation of the amount of current that my cars 12v socket allows.
