Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHad this game out over christmas when family was staying and it was the best card game I have every played. It gets everyone up out there seats, non stop laughter, and it was all we could talk/laugh about for the next couple days. This game will be out every time family is ove

Decent question set, nice range. App has lots more and I found easier to play. The only downside is it doesn’t mirror the actual Popmaster game ie points structure – 3,3,6,3,3,6,3,3,6,3 then 3 in 10. That said, it’s still a worthy pop quiz

This is a nicely adapted travel version of the show, with all the rounds represented effectively. It’s been a handy companion on train journeys, giving a nice 20 mins or so of entertainment.

My two daughters – 10 & 8 – are familiar with the programme and really enjoyed playing this game.

Great game to play with the family but we quickly got through all the questions. Once you’ve played it there’s no point in playing again soon as you’d remember the answers but a fun time was had so would play again but would need to be in a years time when we have forgotten everything.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve watched lots of HoG shows and this card game is true to the show. It comes with 4 rounds – the coded word, the spoonerisms, opposites attrack and the answer smash round.
The game comes with a card ‘buzzer’ to put in the middle that everyone can ‘smash’. Alternatively if you scan the QR code on the box you can access a digital buzzer each to use.
You pick a few cards from each round and use these to play the game.
This round is in code – solve alphanumeric codes to find the word quickest
Spoonerisms – the answers are spoonerisms of each other eg flat cap, flap cat
Opposites attack – the clue is the opposite e.g. white hill = black hole. (This is my least fav round, I often disagree with what they call ‘opposite’ as they’re often not true opposites.
Answer smash – the picture is one answer and there is a word clue beneath. The end of one answer is the beginning fo the next.
You score points in each round and the most points at the end wins.
The answers are on the back so you do not need a host for this game and everyone can take part simultaneously.
The reason it lost a star for me is that if you are a fan of the show and have watched lots of episodes you are likely to notice that the questions have been used in the show so if you have a good memory you might already know the answer.
If you’re a fan of the show you’re likely to enjoy this game. It’s compact so easy to take with you as a travel game.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe both love House of Games on tv so I thought this would be really useful as a chance for us when we’re off on short breaks – easy to carry. The large board game has a lot more questions and rounds, inevitably but for just the two of us, I thought this would be ideal.
It’s a lot of fun, we enjoy the concept and it doesn’t rely solely on intellect or general knowledge as the focus is on discovering interesting snippets or a twist on familiar subjects. We didn’t bother with the digital buzzer using the QR code (and anyway, my husband far prefers making his own noises) and we had a good little evening (accompanied by a drink or two) working our way through the rounds, finishing with Answer Smash of course.
However, there’s an element of a one trick pony about this, as we now can’t play it again for ages. We’ll both easily remember the answers, as this is a relatively small pack of cards, so bang goes our idea to take it when we visit family. Maybe at Christmas with a few more people? So I’m afraid I did knock off a star for that, as I far prefer a game which can be used often.
