I got this musical mat for my 1 year old and so far this has been a hit (excuse the poor pun). The mat comes with 2 large hollow plastic drum sticks which are although easy for my toddler to hold, it does require a bit of a whack for the drum kit side of the mat to work.
As you can imagine, this mat has had it’s far share of spills and food smears, however this mat is wipeable and so far, there hasn’t been a toddler food spill that hasn’t been able to come off. It also keeps my mind at rest knowing this mat can be disinfected.
There is a volume “button” which can be turned down, which is great because as you can imagine, this does get quite noisy as you are able to have 1 child on each end of the mat, playing each musical instrument separately.
The sounds are very realistic and there are 6 other musical instrument sounds to explore on the piano. There is also a record and playback “button”.
This mat saves on space with it just simply folding away ready to be used again. The only issue I have found is the mat is very thin, and as such, isn’t suitable for use on thick pile carpet (which we have in her room), although works perfectly on hard flooring.
For the price, this is a great interactive toy and would recommend.

This musical mat comes presented in a sturdy cardboard box with pictures of the contents.
The mat has a keyboard and a drum kit, there are 13 built in songs and 6 musical instruments and a recording and playback function.
There are 2 big yellow drumsticks, there is a drum select button on the drum side, a rhythm button and a jazz drum 6 touch button.
There are 6 buttons between the keyboard and the drums, volume up and down, record, playback, a stop button and a demo button.
The instruments are piano, violin, trumpet, accordion, vibraphonec and guitar.
With having the drums on one side of the matt and the keyboard the other 2 children can play at once.
The sales advice on Amazon says toddlers 1-3 but the box itself says ages 3+
The mat is made from soft non toxic fabric and you need 3 x AA batteries to run.

I have bought this for my niece for Christmas but obviously we had to test it out and make sure it was working The sound is a bit tinny but I sure my niece will be very happy, not so sure about her parents
I found it worked better on the hard floor than the carpet but everything played which is the main thing.
It is batter operated, taking 3 x AA batteries and they are easy to install. It does say 3+ but I think it will be great fun for younger.
This is a really lovely musical mat to introduce babies and toddlers to various instrumental sounds.
The top cover feels nice to the touch, like a fabric rather than the old school plastic mats from yesteryears but it’s still wipeable with the piano keys one end and the drums the other, you get two large yellow drumsticks included.

It was really loud when I first tried it but thank goodness for the volume down button which took it to a level that was bearable !
The keys and buttons need just the right amount of pressure to hear the sound, they’re not super sensitive which is a good thing.
The sounds are very realistic and as well as drums and piano there’s 6 other instruments to explore, it’s packed full of features with a record and playback buttons for toddlers to make their own music.
The mat is the perfect size and once used it folds back into the box for storing with ease.
I’ve ordered this for my youngest grandchildren who are both just over a year old and they will have lots of fun with this which in turn will give me lots of fun watching them !
I like this a lot and would recommend.
Firstly it is marked on the box as 3+ years, but I would think that some younger family are good enough to enjoy this toy under supervision as suggested in the description.
It does need 3 AA batteries [rechargeable worked for me], and the battery cover has a crosshead screw holding it closed (as required for CE rating), no screwdriver is included in the package.
I found it great fun, for two youngsters you have a keyboard a one end and a drum kit at the other. It simply folds out from an A4 size box, with mat speaker and two drum sticks. Lots of functions are available via the buttons, it will be fun to see how a 3 yr old discovers them. The pads are appropriately sensitive for the drum and piano and play a long gets you with the beat. The demo and intro pads are fun intros to music and rhythm.
It is pink but I will enjoy seeing how the whole musical family play and learn with this amazing musical instrument.
