Design seemed strange at first but this was fantastic. Super comfortable and importantly allowed one to sleep without any of the usual neck ache. Definitely my new favourite travel buddy

The problem with European holidays is the early morning flights. I find those half-doughnut sleeping cushions uncomfortable and needed something to support my neck. This Trtl travel pillow is perfect for me and I no longer wake up with neck pain.

This was recommended to me by a frequent flyer, I have purchased for an upcoming 16 hour trip.

On testing the fit and comfort it does the trick Iwill update once I have travelled.

This is the best travel “pillow” I’ve had. I’m a terrible sleeper and often get zero sleep on a plane. Whilst this isn’t a miracle cure ( didn’t give you extra leg room for instance!!) it really helps. Combined with ear plugs and an eye mask I managed to get about seven hours of solid dozing on a 14 hour flight. It’s expensive but probably worth it if you struggle to get some sleep on a plane. It does get uncomfortable after a few hours of sleeping but I just moved the support round to the other side of my neck and dozed back off. Easy to put on and really excellent support.

It’s a refreshing change to a horrible travel pillow I have used in past. Used it for a long haul flight and I slept through most of it! High recommend!

Although it doesn’t natter on your size these are especially useful if your tall as you really don’t get much support on airplane seats if your head is taller than the seat
    Comfortable and easy to clea

I was recommended by a friend to try this product after she said it works great on long plane journeys. Managed to pick this up at almost half price and I didn’t know it came with a travel bag too to keep everything together when travelling. Can’t wait to use this on my next long haul flight – so far the support seems very sturdy and comfy.

Not had the chance yet to use on a long haul flight but at the moment it feels comfortable and certainly looks like it might be very comfortable on an overnight flight and not leave me with a cricked neck. I have 2 long haul flights coming up so looking forward to putting it through its paces then.

Really please with the product, don’t like normal travel pillows however this is very different. Haven’t used it on a trip yet but testing really supports my head and I’m able to wear my headphones with them which other pillows I’m unable to.

I bought this as pulled a muscle just before 14 hours of flying. I used it to support my head whilst sitting and relaxing and sleeping. It really helped to relieve the tension and was effective in helping me get some sleep. I was a bit hot at one point but adjusted the support a little and managed to sleep again. I’m glad I had this with me.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWe weren’t not convinced before travel that these things would live up to the hype!! We left the labels on and kept the stickers ready to return the items. Oh boy! How wrong can you be! 13 1/2 hours to Singapore tested these to the limit. I slept in world traveler for the first timeever!! 6 hours solid and went back to doze until the last two hours of the flight. Amazing! Next used them on a bus from Singapore to KL. Worked a treat. Well worth the hype even if a bit pricey.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was amazed by this when I used it for an 11-hour flight from the UK to Hong Kong. It was incredibly comfortable for something so simple, while also being really space efficient and easy to put in my carry on when I wasn’t using it. It’s such a simple idea that I’m really amazed no one else thought of it.

The cloth outer sleeve can be removed for easy washing, too, which makes it a great alternative to pre-filled travel pillows that can only be hand-washed (or not really washed at all). It’s a little bit pricey, but well worth it if you value your comfort.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersMyself and my partner travelled from the UK to Japan, two flights there – two flights back, so we needed a solution to help us sleep on the plane and especially on one of the layovers. We bought two of these, but I should say not at full price as I think that is too expensive for what it is. We were able to buy them from the Amazon warehouse for around 25 each, which I think is a good price as I couldn’t really find anything else like this.

When using this product in a seat that has a recline, like the airplanes we were in, it would be a 5/5 product on its own. We also used an eye mask and had noise cancelling headphones on. The one draw back is, as we were using over the ear headphones, it can easily be pushed off your ear on the side that has the plastic to support your head – just something to be aware of. Earbuds would likely not have this issue.

We unfortunately found ourselves in the position of trying to get sleep in a space that was just a 90-degree chair/set-up. This of course is not a magic solution for sub-optimal sleeping positions and even though I positioned the support to the front of my head, I felt this was going to give me more than it did.

Overall, due to the high starting price, the issue with over the ear headphones and its drawback that I experienced (maybe too high expectations on my side), it’s a 4/5.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis device fundamentally solves the problem of not being able to sleep upright.

Other travel pillows provide support at the back and sides, which us useless. You already have a chair behind your head, usually with headrest bits on the sides. The problem is that your head falls slightly forward. This either prevents you from falling asleep, or if you are able to fall asleep with your neck in a weird postion, it means you’ll wake up with a very sore neck (and even then it won’t be very long before you wake up).

With the Trtl providing support in the only area where support is needed – i.e. in front – you can just relax. Your jaw kind of rests / leans on it on one side, and that’s it. No movement. Most of the weight of your head is still leaning to the back/side, but with support at the front/side, it stays put. The shape of the Trtl is flexible enough that it doesn’t feel too rigid, i.e. it doesn’t feel like it’s poking into you. It’s comfortable. And you can adjust it anyway – you just pull it around slightly further to the front or slightly further around the side, slightly up or down etc until it’s in the right spot, then that’s it.

I fly long-haul frequently. Also at least once per year I fly UK-Australia return. With all of these long haul flights I’ve never been able to actually fall asleep. I kind of doze but that’s all.

I’ve just done the UK-Australia return trip using the Trtl for the first time. I slept for 4 hours both ways (I was working, watching movies and doing other things the rest of the time, also travelling with small children, so I only had my eyes closed for slightly longer than this – in other words I got almost as much sleep as I possibly could). This is a dramatic difference. The Trtl + an eye mask solved this problem for me.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI originally backed the kickstarter campaign to buy the latest version but things fell through and I brought this to use on a long haul trip to New Zealand. Travelling to NZ from the UK takes over 27 hours and long layovers in between. So you need to be getting all the much-needed rest as you can. I’ve always had trouble sleeping upright on planes as soon as I’m about to dose off. I become awake when my head jerks forwards. The Trtl pillow is made up of fleece with velcro straps that you can adjust to fit your neck. It is in-built with a plastic structure that helps support your neck. It helped stop my head from jerking forwards and I actually managed uninterrupted sleep on planes and moving coaches. It is easy to strap on bags and is very lightweight for travel. The only reason I have given this 4 stars is the fleece materials rub against my face and the friction gives a carpet burn.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWell I saw this on Dragons Den and felt the Dragons were a bit harsh on it. Suffice to say it is a prime example of people using their own planes, business or first class who have noooooo idea what sleeping in Economy feels like.

So whats it like in the real world?

Well for me (and all those travelling with me that tried it) we loved it. It is not going to replace a business class seat but it is as comfortable if not more comfortable than a bulkhead near the window.
Yes you look ‘different’ for wearing it but on a plane do you really ever care that much? The support it gives you is just enough not to cause a crick in the neck and the ability to cover your mouth is actually quite nice sometimes.
Yes you might dribble into it but which is better… dribble into this or down your top or on someones shoulder (I would like to state for the record that I am not a dribbler thankfully so won’t ever know!).
20 is maybe a fiver too much for what it is but to be honest if you are doing a trip to China like I was you really won’t care if you can get some shut eye.
Likewise I then had a 5hr drive afterwards and it was a blessing as much there as it was on the plane(s).

All in all a great idea that I will keep safely and take on any 2hr+ journey (if not for me, then for others).

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI tried this out on my recent 13 hour plane flight. Usually I would use a standard neck pillow that wraps around the neck and would say that a standard neck pillow is probably more suited to increase comfort over the course of the flight, for example you may be able to watch a movie wearing one. However this one is purely for sleeping. I doubt you would watch a movie with this on or read a book. That being said if it is used for purely sleeping purposes then it does work and is far superior to the standard neck pillows as it doesn’t cause ones neck to bend down so much as the other pillows. The only downside I’d say is that you can only tilt your head to one side at a time and get support. If you want to change the tilt of your head to the other side you have to take off the scarf and readjust it. I’d also say that I did remove it at one point because it got a bit hot.
But other than that it is a very good product to get some comfortable sleep and it does work!
