A sweet-sized little thing, makes a great stocking filler and is just right for keeping those teenagers occupied over the holidays and beyond.
Also good for printing out small images for homework and little notes for each other.

I’ve always wanted a pocket printer since the Gameboy Camera – primitive technology that brings instant joy.

This is a great pocket printer (if you want your pocket to bulge!) for low tech, low res prints of joy. Thermal prints mean no ink, so all you have to refill is the paper. However you use it is up to your imagination, but for me personally it will be for instant prints of photos.

    UNBOX / BUILD
Out of the box it comes 50% charged, meaning it’s ready to use, connecting via Bluetooth with the Phomemo app, or double clicking the power button to print out a QR code to scan – via the app, or you end up on their Chinese language homepage. The pre-installed roll is already oriented the right way around, but installation of paper is nothing more than putting glossy side facing out and aligning it to the roller and snapping shut.

Print quality is what you expect from a thermal printer! Text, on its lightest form, is still bold and readable. Photo quality is, surprise surprise, the same as what you’d expect, with your photo needing some dynamic range and contrast to really pop. It’s either hit or miss, or just set to the highest print setting for densest DPI. Also, contrary to the product images, the printed margin is a couple of millimetres in – your prints will have a white border.

The printer feels well made, like it can take a bump, and that knocks and scratches won’t affect your enjoyment, and the blade for tearing the paper seems well enough receded that it won’t catch young fingers.

There’s a few small design quirks I’ve spotted – the model sticker is upside down, which is mildly irritating, and contrary to the product photo, mine is missing a logo!

The app is massively Chinese orientated, including Chinese templates to print out to help your child learn English. Great, but not localised at all. The main modes you’re likely to use is Print Images (self explanatory), and Notes (to quickly paste text memos for quick storage).

    REFILLS / SAFETY?
The thing about the startup guide is there’s no spec on what thermal paper to refill it with. While the width is standard paper, you won’t want a roll thicker than 10mm from the core or the cover won’t close.

Thermal paper also notoriously contains BPA and other harmful chemicals if you expose yourself to them too often, and contaminates paper recycling too. While BPA-free paper is available on the market, some sort of guidance would be immensely useful for when paper runs out. Particularly given the educational lifestyle and family-friendly slant the app pursues, the last thing you’ll want to hand to a loved one is something that might disrupt their endocrines

Overall impression while socialising is that everyone loves this cute thermal printer and how exciting it is printing something off, even for adults. But address the refill situation and BPA safety issue and or print with caution and keep out of reach of kids.

Got this little printer as a little bit of a novelty item, but I can see it being useful for certain situations. I think shopping lists would be a great use for this item, it’s good at printing clear text if you choose the right settings in the app.

The printer comes with instructions on how to set it up, you need to download an app and then Bluetooth the printer to your phone, and then you can share images or text with the app and print it out. It doesn’t appear as though the printer supports being connected to a PC as there are no drivers for it.

I tried some photos/images with it, and although it is capable of it unless it’s a fairly simple image, it will be difficult to get a clear picture.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice little printer, ideal for certain uses

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHere’s why I’m impressed:

Portability: The compact size of this printer makes it incredibly convenient for on-the-go printing. It easily fits in my pocket, and I’ve used it to print photos and labels while traveling.
Inkless Printing: The inkless thermal printing technology is fantastic. I don’t have to worry about replacing ink cartridges, which saves both time and money.
Battery Life: The 1200mAh battery provides decent usage on a single charge. It’s perfect for short trips, and the Type-C charging ensures I can quickly power it up when needed.
Connectivity: The printer connects seamlessly to my phone and tablet via Bluetooth. The compatibility with various devices is a big plus.
Print Quality: While not on par with professional photo printers, the 203DPI resolution delivers satisfactory results for casual and instant printing needs.
User-Friendly App: The associated app is straightforward to use. It allows me to edit photos, add text, and make collages, giving me some creative control over my prints.
However, there are a couple of minor downsides:

Print Speed: The printing process can be somewhat slow, especially if you’re printing multiple images or documents in succession. Patience is required.
Paper Costs: The thermal paper rolls can be a bit pricey, and they are proprietary, which limits your options. It would be great if it supported a broader range of paper types.
In summary, the Mini Printer M02L is a practical and versatile device for those who want quick, portable, and inkless printing. It’s ideal for creating instant memories or labeling items on the spot.

Nice little pocket thermal printer. This has an easy to use app and produces good, clear prints. The battery lasts well and dies not take to long to charge, its easy to connect to your phone and has plenty of print options on the app.

I know these are very on trend at the moment, but still think it’s slightly overpriced for what it does, it’s basically a black and white printer that produces very small prints

This is a great little printer for printing photos, stickers, and other small items. It’s very portable and easy to use, and it doesn’t require any ink or toner.

The print quality is good, but it’s not as good as a traditional inkjet or laser printer. The prints are also a bit small, but they’re perfect for printing stickers, photos, and other small items.

The printer is very easy to use. You simply download the accompanying app on your phone or tablet, connect to the printer via Bluetooth, and start printing. The app has a variety of features, including the ability to print photos, stickers, text, and even QR codes.

The printer also has a built-in battery, so you can use it on the go. The battery lasts for a long time, and it’s easy to recharge using the included USB cable.

This is a great little thermal printer with a multitude of different uses, though it does have limitations.

The printer arrives in a plain cardboard box. Inside is the printer (already charged), the charge cable, a roll of thermal paper and a set of instructions.
The printer itself is very compact and relatively lightweight, though is decently made. It’s nicely finished and feels pretty robust. There’s only one button on the unit, so operation is simple. Loading of the paper reel is nice and easy too. I had expected the printer to already have one reel of paper installed, and the one in the box would be a spare, but it sadly only comes with one reel. That seems a little poor given the price of the printer. Still, the paper reels are widely available and not all that expensive.

You need to download an app to use the printer. Interestingly, the app is the same one used for Phomemo printers, which leads me to believe this printer is essentially an unbranded clone of the Phomemo M02 (even the model numbers are almost the same). The app is good, and comes with a large number of different templates, clip art and diagrams you can use. You can, of course, print out your own images and text files if you prefer.
I found connection from the app to the printer to be quick and easy. You can be printing within a few minutes of unboxing the printer.

The thing I love about this printer is its speed. As soon as you click print on the app, you hear the printer start up and you have your finished print within seconds. The printing sound is also very pleasing, which is a bonus!
The print quality is fine for simple things like text and line-art diagrams and designs. It will print photos, but not all that well. It just doesn’t have a good enough resolution to render photographic detail and tones all that well. I don’t really think that’s what it’s designed for, though.

What this printer excels at is printing things like lists, receipts, notes and simple clip-art designs. If you run a small business or market stall, it would be perfect for doing receipts and packing notes. I also find it useful for printing shopping lists.

Battery life is excellent. I’ve been using it on and off for a couple of weeks and I still haven’t needed to charge it.

Overall, I’m quite impressed with this printer. Yes, it certainly has limitations, but it’s also very useful. It works well and is very fast. I do think it should ship with at least one spare roll of paper, but that’s a small gripe. If you have a need to print out receipts, lists and notes on the go or out in the field, then this little printer could potentially be indispensable.

The packaging is basic and the instructions nearly inexistent but overall connecting the printer and working things out is easy. Everything works directly and exclusively trough the downloaded app that honestly has a bit of an unrefined and childish appearance but does the job.

Printing speed is quick and results are very decent for such a small, compact and easy to carry little printer.
The 40 price is reasonable but the current 22% off voucher surely makes it a great buy

This is a compact and fun mini thermal printer.

It’s very easy to set up and it uses an app called Phomemo, which I surprisingly like. I was also surprised with the print quality of photographs, albeit printed on the highest quality setting in black and white.

The paper roll that is supplied with the printer is quite small so it isn’t going to last long but replacement thermal paper rolls are relatively inexpensive.

The printer is rechargeable so it’s completely portable and it’s compact enough to slip in a bag and take it wherever you want to go.

I’ll admit the settings have so many combinations it can be overwhelming when you first try this printer. However, after playing with it for quite a few hours, I got the hang of it.

The quality of the print is clear and prints very quickly – just make sure you load the ‘paper’ accurately, or the print could get cut off.

I ordered this mini thermal printer in the hope that it would save the inconvenience of firing up my desktop PC and printer to print out items such as my holiday packing checklist and postcard labels.

The printer is supplied with only one small roll of thermal paper and, as such, I have restricted my test printing at this juncture. The print definition isn’t too bad (just don’t expect photo-quality).

The required Phomemo app connected simply via Bluetooth and looks to have many useful templates as well as scan functionality (although I’m struggling to find where it’s saved my test document!).

The app requires quite a few additional permissions to be allowed as it doesn’t support the latest version of Android (for instance denying music and audio access would prevent access to photos you wished to print). This and 3rd party permissions could be an issue to some users.

Overall, this seems a nice bit of kit however consumables may rack up the costs.

Great bluetooth portable wireless printer, uses typical till roll type paper and can print what you command it to.
Its not very good with pictures as you can see my dyno graph is not very clear but its excellent for text / invoices.
A little pricey considering the cost of regular ink printers but can be handy if you plan to setup a stand or mini shop of some sort at a convention for example.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great portable printer for receipts

This is a fun little bluetooth thermal printer, which prints out on till receipt thermal paper.

I found pairing it with my iPhone to be a bit of a hassle at first, but eventually managed it using the Phomemo app and the QR code method. This involves pressing the button on the printer until it prints out a QR code, which you can then scan within the app. After that, it paired first time.

The app has a variety of templates and also lets you print out photos from your library and documents. I tried with a photo of a cat, and you can see the print quality in the pics for this review. The second picture shows a close-up of the print out.

As you can see, you’re not going to get high quality prints from this, but when combined with the built-in rechargeable battery it does make a fun little device. You can take pictures of your kids and instantly print them out for them and have all sorts of fun, as long as you don’t set your expectations too high. This comes with a small roll of thermal paper and you can buy more on Amazon.

You can also find sticker paper, which not only makes fun stickers, but also turns this into a genuinely useful label maker for the home.

This is an amazing little printer. Connects super easily to my phone and prints things out quickly. Good quality. Does take some working out for what the best heaviness of ink and size the image or text should be so it doesn’t blurt too much.
