This kit is very nicely presented and it feels very special when you open it. Great packaging keeps the contents safe in transportation and it’s ideal for continuing to keep the kit together and safe once used.
I know a lot of whisky drinkers but they don’t smoke their drinks so this is quite a novelty. It comes with instructions but it’s easy to work out too. You pour the drink into the glass and then smoker wooden base is placed on a top (with one of the strainers in the hole) with a couple of spoonfuls (supplied) of wood chips (oak, pecan, cherry, apple, peach and walnut are supplied). Then the fun begins!
You need to fill the mini blow torch with butane and that ignites the wood chips. The smoker lid is put on top and smoke escapes into the glass, you don’t leave it on there for long, and you can then remove the smoker and you have your smoked drink. It’s fun, novel and very different from anything I’ve ever used. The torch would also be handy in the kitchen (Crme Brle, etc), so multi-functional.
A fabulous ‘special’ gift and I’m very impressed with the presentation and quality – highly recommended.
I love experimenting and creating my own cocktails at home and also enjoy a whisky, so I was eager to try this smoker set out.
It’s easy to use by placing the lid on a glass, adding the wood chips, ignting them and then waiting just a few seconds to watch the smoke appear.
I find that it’s been a fun little activity and talking point at gatherings and parties and it adds a nice aroma to whatever drink it is you’re making with a few different wood chips to chose from.
All in all, it’s a fun set for drinks making.
This is a great gift to give a friend, or keep for yourself. It is beautifully presented in a lovely box with classy foam inserts. Inside there is a burner (which needs a fuel cylinder), six pots with different smoking wood chips, some tongs, a smoker and various other implements and accessories. It is an ideal gift for a whiskey lover, and is a great addition to your drinks cabinet. For the man who has everything, look no further, i was so impressed with this set. It would make a great gift, but it is too nice to give away.
