    Remains the best steam iron you can buy. I don’t like the “trickle” noise it makes as it refills chamber from tank as it doesn’t sound healthy, but it works a treat and ironing is half the time

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat but not hot enough
    My wife does most of the ironing and she loves it, thank goodness at that price! But me – I like to be able to set the heat to maximum to do my cotton shirts and shorts. And as far as I can tell there’s no way to do this. So I have to have another old steam generator that doesn’t do steam anymore, and a water spray to get cottons and linens done properly. Does the trick but hey why can this “brilliant” product not do that?

    The price is high but this iron halves the time it takes to do the weekly ironing. It’s light and easy to use – I can’t recommend this product highly enough. I should mention that it is the second one I have bought after the first died just three years after purchase

    Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersPerfect for ironing large quantity clothes
    I’ve been looking for a good steam iron for a while which could be used for heavy loads of washing. My ironing happens once in a week, and all family clothes pile up for ironing. There are so many steam irons on the market and it’s hard to know which one is right for you. I’ve always had Black & Decker irons in the past, but they just don’t have the same power as this one.

    The Philips Perfect Care 8000 came is black and gold colour which looks rick. It has 1.8L detachable water tank which means you can use it longer without having to refill it with water. It also has intelligent automatic steam which means that it will turn itself off when not being used and will turn itself back on when you start ironing again. This saves energy and helps keep the iron at the correct temperature for optimal results every time!

    The ultra-powerful steam function is great for removing creases from clothes quickly and efficiently – no need to go over them several times like some other irons require! The OptimalTEMP technology ensures that your clothes come out wrinkle-free every time by automatically adjusting its temperature according to what type of fabric you’re using whether that be cotton or wool or anything else! It’s very easy to use and doesn’t require much effort on my part whatsoever. Best part is I am able to iron my curtains and my suit jackets using steam while in upright position. Well recommended!

    Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersGreat kit, but the price??
    It’s certainly a bulky unit, ok, that holds the water, but you’ll want to sit it below your ironing board or on a nearby countertop. The actual handheld iron is light & easy to move about. It’ll create all the steam you could want to get those creases out. It’s an ironing enthusiasts dream….hey, it might even turn a hater into a fan. You would need to be very big on ironing or running a launderette to consider the purchase though. At the time of ordering, these were a little over 500, that in truth is the only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars.
    Being able to iron/steam your curtains in place is a great feature. It’s the best way.

    So the description states this is a:-
    Philips Domestic appliances UK perfect care 8000 series PSG8130/80 steam generator. DynamiQ sensor 2.0 for optimal steam performance, 2700w, Optimal TEMP, 8.5 bar steam pressure, 700 g/min steam output, black/gold.

    When I have to do the grim job of ironing I like to do it all in one go and not it bits. This really has changed my ironing experience.

    If you was comparing this iron to a car it is like the “Tesla” of irons

    The 1.8-litre transparent water tank gives you up to 2 hours of continuous use.

    What I also like is that you can lock the ion to the base when packing it away, no more broken feet for me, as with a old generator iron I had fell off the base and broke a bone in my foot. I said I would never use a water generator iron from that day. Till I had the option of reviewing this babe, and I be a fool not too.

    I does make light work or a normally horrible job, the automatic intelligent steam does it all for you. The only downside may be the high price tag. If I was personally looking to buy a iron I wouldn’t have paid this price being 470.22p at the time if this review. Without actually seeing it being used, along as it does last and don’t die on me then I think it could be worth it as it does save a lot of time doing what was a horrible job.
    The thing my mother couldn’t use one unless someone set it up for her, because she wouldn’t be able to pick it up even without water in it. The iron itself is lightweight, it’s the base, and because you need a lot of water to generate all that steam it is really needed.

    *** Easy to use:-
    * Heat-up time:- 2 min
    * Soleplate:- SteamGlide Elite
    * Safe on all ironable fabrics

    * Low water alert
    * Refill anytime during use
    * Tap water suitable
    * Speed mode
    * Intelligent automatic steam
    * Guaranteed no burns
    * Ultra-light iron

    So far so good only downside is the price tag and that the reason I may only give it 4 stars and not 5. Its 5 stars for how it works.

    But I will update this review if needed.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLove it! Quick and easy to use, great results.
    I’m a believer that if you’re going to bother doing something, do it well. This applies to many areas of life, and certainly to my ironing before I received this! Ironing felt like a chore, it wasn’t fun because I had to press so hard and even then, didn’t feel it was always effective. Well that’s a thing of the past, and dare I say I’m enjoying ironing? The slightly crumpled look was ok when I was a student but that was a long time ago and I’ve left (most) of my other student habits long behind!

    This iron really is something else. It’s the top of the range, all singing and all dancing model. But does it perform? Well, yes, I think so!

    I was worried it would be too heavy or bulky, but it’s less than 5kg without water, which is fine for me to carry. Then the iron part itself, when using it, is much lighter than a regular iron. My mum has a steam generator iron too and she tends to move it into place first and then fill it up, to make it easier for her to lift.

    When using, well it just glides effortlessly. I’m almost surprised there’s no auto-iron feature, because it seems to have everything! The intelligent non-burn system seems effective, which is a bonus for anyone who it likely to be interrupted or distracted whilst ironing. I tested it on a tea towel not anything delicate though..

    The vertical steam function is great, I had a large pair of curtains that I ironed when I bought them but somehow the creases remained, until this! I have a handheld steamer, too, but this almost replaces it!

    It’s very easy to use and whilst the instructions really aren’t that’s great, I found it pretty intuitive.

    I think eventually I will upgrade my ironing board to a slightly larger on to give me a bit more space on the ironing board for it, but I also iron with the steam generator tank on the worktop next to my ironing board if I need more space.

    So far, I’m thrilled with the iron. It’s quick, easy and well made. If you have a lot of ironing it may well be worth the investment, to make those every day tasks just a little easie

    The Iron Of Irons! Wow.
    Firstly I have to say wow. What a Iron this is!
    I have owned your basic daily irons that come in a smallish box and they do the job basically but I have never owned an Iron quite like this.
    I know the price tag is shocking for an iron but it truly does serve a lot of ironing and steaming functions that your normal bog basic ones would not.
    With this iron you can steam the creases out of curtains without even touching the curtains and struggling to take them down on the curtain rails.
    It is wonderfully powerful and it has brought back the joy in ironing for me personally.
    Before you might think I may be strange but I honestly found ironing quite relaxing in an evening whilst somewhat satisfying but now, I love it!
    I literally fly through the ironing now and within no time I have it all done and put away for the next day. I even go around now just freshening up my curtains with the steam off the iron and they look and now smell as fresh as they was hanging them from new!
    The quality is fantastic of the iron and I have had many family members ask me where I got this iron from!
    Of course the price is very expensive but in the same aspect you kinda get what you pay.
    If you own a busy family household and you iron daily all the time then save and buy this iron you will not regret it.
    Another fantastic device from Philips that I can rely on!

    Very powerful and makes ironing easie
    One word. Amazing! I already have an old steam generator iron which was very cheap. Its clunky and not very powerful and to get the opporunity to use this was worlds apart.

    The iron is light weight and ergonomically designed so even when you are ironing for hours on end, its easy on your hands and helps with fatique. One of the best things I like about this iron is how quick it is ready to start, it heats up very quick and its hot and ready to go in under 2 minutes.

    Steam is this irons favourite trick. It is continious and it has some kind of sensor in it that adapt to the speed of how you are ironing and delivers the appropiate steam. The tank is large so you can keep going for longer between refills.

    The plate of the iron is coated with some non stick surface. It glides through clothes effortlessly. You can even steam vertically for items like curtains and it never splutters and no calcium deposits come out. I like there there is a cleaning cycle as well to prevent this.

    Cables are nice an long, no snagging. The unit is very simple to use, a lot of what you need is automatic. The build quality is great. It is a pricey iron but if you want the best then this is it.

    I like that the steam is so powerful it basically irons both sides at once so it speeds up how long you have to iron.There a lot of safety elements to this iron which helps with burn in and damaging your clothes or even the iron with its safety cut out too.

    Its an amazing iron. I have now used it for 2 weeks and it has impressed me every time. The price might be out of reach for some but the amazing steam power and performance this delivers makes it a proper work horse for the family.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood, pricey
    The only alarming thing about this iron is that lack of a temperature control. Having said that, it seems to be perfect on all material, letting out steam only when being used, as opposed to put down in the holder.
    Like all steam generator irons, it is a big and heavy beast. Too heavy to stand on the iron support on the end if the ironing board, so it has to stand 9n the “working area”. It can also be a but concerning how the whole board wobbles with this weight high up, but nothing has fallen over….yet.
    All in all very good, but with a price tag to match.

    Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLamborghini of all steam generator's / iron's
    This is one sleek, stylish, easy to use and very effective iron and I can clearly say it’s the Lamborghini of all steam generators due to its looks and performance.

    It’s as simple to use as a normal iron where you just fill in the water bucket place it in and then press the power button. It takes less than a minute to steam up and get ready to iron.

    The steam pressure is unanimous throughout and with little effort you get ironing quality as good as laundry service.

    It comes packed with plenty of safety features from a base lock to keep the iron in place to a motion sensor when the iron stops if you leave the iron on the cloth, this is fantastic and protects our precious clothes.

    For those who can invest this is a great product to have and I will highly recommend this.

    I do hope this review helped you.

    Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersA breeze through with my ironing
    I must say I dread ironing. I know people find it calming but with me I’ll only iron when I really need to. When this arrived I had quite a bundle of clothes to iron. Still dreading it I thought I’d give this a go. Well.. the saying you get what you pay for comes to mind. I literally breezed through my pile of ironing without a problem. I was kinda in awe at how easy this made ironing that I kinda forgot I didn’t like ironing.

    The instructions are easy to follow.

    The cord is a nice long length which is a big positive for me.

    It has a decent size water tank.

    Price tag?? Well yes it is expensive but if you do a lot of ironing I can see that this would be money well spent.

    I won’t be dreading ironing in the future with this gem.

    Great machine!
    This iron is fantastic, a total game changer!

    I usually do my washing in the week and then iron in bulk at the weekend.

    Previously I have been using a standard iron and it was a such a chore but now it takes half the time and is a breeze!

    The huge water tank means I don’t have to top up water every 15 minutes I actually haven’t had to refill it once yet,

    the steam turns off the moment I stop ironing so there’s no water dripping from the iron soaking my newly washed clothes,

    the steam this iron generates is phenomenal its one heat setting at all times so no need to change it for different materials it’s just standard steam for all ironable garments,

    because the water is in the base and not the iron its very light and the intelligent steam technology allows the iron to produce steam to the speed that I iron at.

    The steam penetrates straight through to the other side of the clothing so no need to iron both sides which saves me so much time, with having children I love the safety lock at the top and the fact that it turns itself off after 10 minutes of not being used and to top it all off it can be used vertically as well as horizontally which is great for my husbands work shirts and sons school shirts.

    Straight from the box it was so simple to set up and instructions were very clear I no longer dread the weekend ironing pile!

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA serious iron but a hefty price
    This is a brilliant iron in many respects. It heats up quickly, offers a vertical option, blasts steam out at a pace to match your ironing and because the steam is doing the work you don’t need to worry about the hotplate getting too hot and causing damage.

    I have used a similar model in the past and have to acknowledge that this is quicker (and the iron itself is significantly lighter).

    So why only four stars? First it is actually significantly noisier when heating up (and it has to repeatedly reheat) than the previous model I had. That might not seem like a big issue but I like to listen to the radio or an audiobook when ironing and the noise this makes renders that very tricky. Loud enough to hear over the heat generating and it is too loud when the heating ceases. The second issue for me is the price (550 at the time of this review) which however good the iron is seems very expensive to me.

    Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersAstonishingly good
    Ok it’s a pricey piece of kit but oh my word it’s good.

    For me, washing and drying clothes is fine, I can smash through several loads without complaint. Ironing and putting stuff away however, is my idea of hell – stuff will sit and shame me until finally I can muster enough motivation to get it done. It just takes so long, everything needs a different temperature setting etc etc etc. This steam generator from Philips is enough of a game changer to absolutely turn that upside down and make ironing almost fun if I dare to say it.

    Fantastically easy to use, simply fill the easily-detachable water reservoir (which holds a huge 1.8l), press the button on the front and wait for a minute until the light on the iron stops flashing then bam it’s ready to go. You don’t have to worry about temperature settings, you don’t have to worry about setting the iron on clothes for too long as it somehow cleverly won’t burn them, just plough through your ironing at a super fast pace while the Philips iron glides over your clothes and leaves them perfectly ironed.

    There’s a setting to use it vertically so you can steam clean curtains and hanging garments as well as an option to automatically produce more steam the faster you move the iron (works really well) and even a steam boost option which I haven’t needed so far as it does such a good job of making steam regardless. I put the steam generator up on the ironing board for the pictures but the cord to the iron is more than long enough that it can be sat on the floor as it’s quite heavy when filled with water.

    Just a fantastic device that has made ironing absolutely effortless for me.
