This is second time around I have bought this iron & I love it last one died of old age nothing sticks to iron no heat regulator can go from cotton to nylon no stick no singed clothes highly recommended
Brilliant Iro
Really pleased with the steam it generates. Not to heavy like my other irons. Nice colour and shape. Fits the ironing board well. The only small criticism I have is I wish it heated up quicker but I can live with that.

Very impressed with this
I have been a user of steam generator irons for over a decade now. While this was on offer, I decided to upgrade my existing Philips HI5914 which had been good, but found wanting in a few areas. Thankfully, this has been an immediate step up and is well worth the money. The first thing that impressed me about this sleek and attractive unit was the fact that it had a lock button to hold it in place while it was on the base – this might not seem like much, but it’s such a clever idea for storage and carrying. The power steam cable also wraps neatly under the unit, so it take up much less room than previous models I have had. I liked the non-stick base – it looks like it will keep clean longer than others I’ve owned. I would recommending de-ionised or distilled water immediately if you are in a hard water area; this model has an anti-calcium function, but I’ve found that my last model quickly clogged and spat despite having the same thing. The unit itself is light and, thanks to PerfectCare system, doesn’t need a temperature control. This was a real winner – I was able to iron from denim to silk immediately! It saved much waiting for the temperature to change or those moments that you forget you have it on a high setting and then accidentally iron your wife’s silk blouse…I tested this model out by leaving it on the ironing board and it does exactly what it claims – no burns! Terrific bit of technology. The steam pressure is very impressive, more than adequate for most home uses (I have a handheld steamer for garments so I don’t require vertical steam). In summary, I’m delighted with this machine and it runs so smoothly when you use deionised water from the get-go.
Quality Iro
Can’t go wrong with this. Bought to replace an older steam iron which failed trying to clean it! Easy to fill, no worries about setting temperature, can leave on surface or clothes without risk of burning anything. Auto switch off if you forget to. Brilliant.
An ok iron but not brillia
Good points – compact size compared to some other irons, quite lightweight and good sized water tank. Negative point for me is the fact that I can’t control the temperature- this is done automatically by the iron.i still haven’t fully worked out how to regulate the eco setting but that’s probably more down to me. Its ok but, as and when it breaks down, I won’t buy the same one again.
These are the best irons
My previous Philips perfect care steam generator sadly expired after more than 10 years faithful service and I needed a replacement in a hurry. It’s so convenient to be able to order for next day delivery, especially in the busy run up to Christmas. This one is slightly smaller than my previous model but much, much more powerful, so far it’s even better than it’s predecessor and gets through my ironing pile in super quick time. The de-calc system is via a drip tray instead of the de-calc screw on the older model, I haven’t had to use it yet but am confident it will be straightforward. As with all Philips Steam generator irons there is no need to adjust temperature for different types of fabric, a feature I really love. It means that you can leave it flat on your ironing board between items and is also a very handy feature if you sew like I do. I am very happy with this iron and hope she will serve me for a long time like her predecessor.
We bought it just over 2 years ago, hardly used it , maybe twice a month.Now the iron does not generate any steam, no fault or lights flashes , simply no steam coming out.Phillips and Amazon can not help because its over 2 years old.Well I was expecting this item last for more than 2 years as it wasn’t cheap!Cheaper irons like 30 ones are last a lot longer.Extremely disappointed with this purchase.NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!!!!
Wonderful steam Iro
I love this iron. Its clever anti-burn technology saves me worrying about the temperature. Good amount of steam and easy to use. My last one lasted me years so hoping I won’t be reviewing another one any time soon.
Happy with this. It has a large ironing surface. Lightweight and the iron sits well on the base. The iron holds clip is a nice feature. No temperature control though it’s on or off!
This is easily the best iron I’ve owned. Its compact (for a steam generator), quiet, light, easy to use and irons well. No fiddling with temperature, just fill with water, turn it on and away you go, the iron sorts the rest. Irons everything I have without issue from heavily creased linen to delicates without fuss.
Less than 2 years and its broke
I bought this to replace my old steam generator. It does not get used excessively only 2 people live in the house.
It has been cleaned regularly when it tells me. It now no longer produces steam. Even if you use self clean no steam.
Update
This was repaired for free. I contactsd the manufacturer and they arranged for me to ship it back to them for repair.
Whilst I’m not happy it broke you can’t fault that customer service the iron is as good as new now

Got this to replace our old iron whose steam hose frayed and became dangerous. The iron is excellent to use and the power steam works well. Would of liked the power lead to be a bit longer otherwise no complaints at all

I’ve had this model for a few years. When It was carelessly dropped on concrete, I immediately replaced it with exactly the same one.
I’ve been using this for two weeks, I live in a small flat so it has to be put away when not in use, it’s light and portable enough to do that with and doesn’t take up that much more space than a regular iron.
As some reviews mention when using for a long time some water drips down beneath it, it’s not very much water and I think it’s from all the steam released, not because it’s leaking.
It makes really short work of ironing and it doesn’t burn the clothes, which is sort of magic! It took me a while to get used to the idea of leaving an iron on the ironing board face down on fabric. But it really does work.
I paid 109 for this in a sale, which I was really happy with. Would I pay it’s retail price of over 200? Probably not, but thats just because at the end of the day it is just an iron and there’s only two of us.
But I’d recommend it if want something to make short work of ironing.

Packs a punch
So this replaced a pretty heavy duty Tefal steam generator that just went pop one day after maybe 15 years.
Steam power is about the same.
The cord management is ok but basic. Being lightweight is good on the ironing hand but makes it more easy to pull off the board.
On the whole better for what I now want.
One thing I’ve still got to get used to is the overlap in steam generation after the button is let go.
Only the one one heat setting but it seems to do everything OK.

My first compact iro
This is my first compact iron, and I have to say it’s just worth the xtra cost if you do a lot of ironing, no more need to fill with water and change settings this is a time saver, and no need for it to stand up as you can just leave it flat on the board while getting garments ready, it quickly cools when button isn’t pressed, it also fits snug into the ridge on the ironing board so this is another bonus, you don’t have to have the whole iron on a board, if your next to a unit or table it can just sit in there which frees up the whole space on the board, if I do put it in the board I use some anti rug slip material underneath it so it doesn’t budge that’s the only pros is that the bottom could have been a rubber base so it doesn’t move, I always keep a bottle handy for filling as I would want to visit the taps with it, I have ironed on full heat then instantly done a synthetic fabric and the quickness it cools is fab.

Purchased this after my other steam generator died. It is easy to use no faffing around with dials. Don’t keep finger on the steam trigger or you will get wet streaks, other than that it does what it’s supposed to no matter what fabric you are ironing.

Great iron, this is my second, got this as the previous broke down after 4 years, got that repaired via the Phillips repair service but also purchased this one in pink as it’s cheap/good value due to the colour . This iron is a pleasure to use.
Easy to use
Lightweight, easy to use. No temperature to set. Only fault is iron can’t be set on its heel has to be placed back in the base unit when adjusting clothing on iron board
Great value for money
Bought this to replace a very similar one, also made by Phillips which finally gave up the ghost after 10 years of constant use. It was the steam function that became unreliable but it had been dropped a couple of times and the casing was cracked, so it went to the re-cycling centre.
This one is the same colour as the old one but is quite a bit smaller overall, so it’s a neater unit. The downside of this is that it doesn’t now have space to have a retractable electric cord, within the body. But that is a minor issue. My wife is delighted with it. Happily, she doesn’t allow me near it, as she is a perfectionist when it comes to ironing and I’m not. One feature it has is automatic temperature control so there is no heating dial on it. Don’t ask me how that works but it seems to. I went for a Phillips again as the old one gave such reliable service, hopefully, this will prove similar. The price was also spot on at 100 a supposed reduction on list price of 50%. Other brands seemed to be much more expensive. Anyway, highly recommended.

Having gone through quite a few “normal” irons. Bit the bullet and ordered this bad boy! It does not disappoint! Cord lengths are fantastic and takes the chore out of ironing! Massive water storage to save trips to the tap! Very impressed

Easy to use, no messing about with different temperature settings, large water tank so no having to refill. The only negative for me is the power cord is a little on the short side.

Absolutely brillia
I have had 3 steam irons over the years. This is by far the best. I have small hands and found the handle on this one much more comfortable if using it for a few hours. It effortlessly gets creases out of high thread count sheets. Worth every penny.
Perfect care iron?
The iron is a compact version of my old iron. It is much less bulky and holds less water than the old one. For some reason, although I am happy with the size and amount of water it holds, it does not quite match the performance of my old ‘perfect care ‘ iron. On some fabrics I am getting iron ‘shine’ which I didn’t with the old one even though the sole plates seem identical. Also at times the steam does not seem in sync with me. When I press steam it seams to come out much later than the old one.

Compact and ligh
Had a previous Phillips steam generator iron for many years and although it was a great iron it was bulky and heavy. When it was faulty ordered this replacement at a sale price but wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s great at ironing, much lighter and less bulky and so quiet that I can hear the TV whilst ironing!
Ironing made easy!
A lightweight iron. Glides easily over fabrics. No heat setting to keep altering. Have used successfully on hanging garments too, dispensing with an ironing board, except for the sleeves. Ironing so much less of a chore. UPDATE : Have now managed to iron sleeves with garment hanging. So an all round winner! Easy. Quick. Effective.
I will never return to a conventional iron agai
Love this iron – super quick to heat up and amazing steam power means that ironing takes half the time than my conventional iron. The only reason giving it a 4 star is that the power cable is a little shorter than i would like.

Such a great iron. My old are generator iron was big and bulky and a nightmare to clean. This one is lightweight and simple to use. Great eco boost and turbo features for more power when required. Simple to clean with the descaling tray and function. Only criticism I have is as the water tank is not removable it can be awkward to empty the water when you have finished as you have to lift the whole base up. But other thank that thisbisna great item to have.

I was very disappointed with this iron, definitely not value for money, All I can say it’s OK but not worth the almost 100 I paid.
I tried to think of something I like about it that might make it special but simply can’t. It’s no better than irons half the price.
This is just my opinion others might think differently.
Ironing made easy
I’m nit a big fan of ironing, but this makes it so much easier and quicker. Other reviews say it’s lightweight, but it’s a little heavier than my old iron. Nothing too heavy, but heavier than I was expecting. Great iron tho!

I have owned many steam generator irons over the years and this iron is the best one I have ever had! its lovely and lightweight, glides over clothes beautifully. I love the fact you do not have to adjust a dial for different fabrics, it does it all for you. I also love the water chamber which is clear so you can see exactly how much water you have left. its easy to use and just over all a really good iron I highly recommend it.

Never go back
It’s so easy now, no temp to worry about just fill it with water and use. My only concern would be if the steam button ever breaks (as has done with previous irons) as steam can only be used pressing the button, it really would not be a good iron without the steam.
Makes ironing a joy.
This is a brilliant iron – my first steam generator one and what a joy it is to use. I’ve had it 6 weeks now and did my first automatic descale yesterday. When it needs descaling a warning beep sounds, just rest the iron in the supplied descale container and press the descale button – brilliant. The iron has a good smooth plate which glides across clothes and there is more than ample steam after pressing the steam button on the handle. Highly recommend.
Converted a lifelong non ironed
Easy to use, and I say that as a lifelong non ironer. You could argue this iron has ruined me as I now care about creases and spend my spare time cheerfully ironing! Personally I suspect it’s probably a personal improvement and am very glad I bought it!
PS: If the creases have dried in, squeeze the handle and the cool whooshy steam thing will flatten them out. It’s fun!
Cut ironing time in half
I hate ironing and this product has improved my day! Normal weekly ironing session time drastically reduced, no forwarding and backwarding to fill up water no messing about with temperature, I could just leave iron on board – no burns! If you can afford to spend a little more on an iron great purchase. Watch the YouTube video on how to use as instructions not so clear!

I have owned a couple of Steam Generator irons over the past 5 years and all of those lost their ability to produce high steam relatively quickly, this Iron on the other hand is a monster steam iron, the Rolls Royce of steam generators, and the other features like being able to leaver it on the ironing board without burning the thing is very convenient. So happy with this iron and I’ve had quite a few steam generators over the years. Did a lot of reviewing and decided on this one – definitely not disappointed. Family of 4 with lots of ironing, including shirts. Glides through no problem. I was sceptical about having no temperature dial but that’s the best part about it, no worrying if too hot etc. Does all materials and no sticking or burning but powerful enough to get through stubborn creases.
Iron itself is lightweight compared to previous ones, and smaller to store but with all the power .
Would 100% recommend.

Wow I am pretty amazed by how good this is. I bought this to replace an old model which gave me years of good service. This is great. I had the optimum temperature sole plate on my old iron and this is so easy to use on lots of different fabrics this was why I chose this again. All in all I am very happy.

Was a little overwhelmed on arrival as looks such a complicated contraction. However, it is so simple to use. Fill it up, plug it in, press a button and iron.
Is it quicker? Couldn’t say.
It is so much lighter to use as you’re not lifting the water with it.
It is very big and bulky to store but worth the space.
However, had it not been at 50% off would never have considered as 50 over my usual!

Ive tried ordinary type irons and also a Phillips steam press, but this iron is by far the best iron ive ever used.
1 ) No controls to set for different textile types.
2) Large water tank so dont need to keep refilling.
3) Just leave the iron on the ironing board when turning any item as it will not burn or scorch the top.
What more could a man need! nothing to confuse, just iron out the wrinkles, perfect.
I’ve had a Perfect Care iron before and think they are superb. It saves so much time not having to change the temperature dial the whole time.
Also the fact you do not need cartridges.
This iron is even better than the last one which lasted for eight years! It has a smaller profile and takes up so much less space. Both visually and physically.
I’d also like to point out that, for the first time, I used Amazon Marketplace. A fantastic price and a wonderful iron. Minimal cosmetic damage to the packaging and no cosmetic damage to the iron.
Surprisingly light to use. Works well on the toughest linen and bedding. I use distilled water. It doesn’t seem to use as much as my last steamer but the performance is excellent.

Direct replacement for my previous Philips steam generator iron, purchased in 2010.
It seems altogether smother, a little lighter and probably a good descaling procedure. (The previous one not so good in this respect).

Effective and efficient but not lightweigh
The steam function is very effective if a little aggressive. It does the job well. Just one caveat: the later model has a removable limescale filter which this one does not-it has to be cleaned manually which some might not appreciate
